Once servers are turned off for NBA2k20

    Hello,
Once servers are turned off for 2k20 does that mean all your my leagues with custom arenas will be shut down? If you already have my leagues saved with custom rosters and custom arenas is there a way to make those my leagues work after they shut down servers. Curious.
    Thanks,
    tbread28

I believe that once you have saved your leagues everything stays the same, if you want to download new ones you can't

Re: Once servers are turned off for NBA2k20

Any Custom myleague from what I was told long ago will not work when servers are off because apparently the custom courts and custom uniforms are stored on 2k's server. Now you are allowed up to a WHOPPING 3 courts and 3 custom uniforms for a team on a local profile so generously given by the lovely 2k team (smh) this infuriates me but it is what it is.

Once you enable there storage, your entire save minus the Including your profile, goes into there server status, and from previous people in the past when they have done this says the whole myleague was corrupt.

I'm testing this theory myself as I have set up to myleagues on 2k19, as they probably will be getting ready to turn it off soon, 2k20 won't be turned off until 2022 maybe.

Its really bad because I really believe 2k devs don't understand the time we put into creating what we create, only to have it shut down and completely lost, just to try and force someone to buy there next product. Well I got news for them, I won't be, I'd ready play with just the names and use my imagination than support this company any further they don't care, so why should I.

All your custom college, high school, fictional, classic mods? There gone if there on 2ks server once you hit the enable pop up. And they even tell you in the pop up.

YOU MUST HAVE A INTERNET CONNECTION TO THE 2K SERVER. which means if its turned off, you have no access.

But don't worry 2k21 with a shiny Zion Williamson on ps5 will fix that, so hurry hurry and pre order another $100 plus game for the same ol same old.

Nah not me, not this time 2k.

So once the servers are turned off your mylegue won't work?
So for us mylegue patrons the game is no longer usable?

Yes it will not work. The only way to make it work is to download your set of rosters, save them on your hard drive, then create a new myleague season without the custom courts, and custom uniforms.

You can have 3 uniforms and 3 courts but that's it.

Thats how 2k feels about us, thats what they left for us, I'm not supporting this company any longer, nor madden, or MLB the show. I'm finished, ill play what I have for the love of the sport but as far as purchasing a new title or product from them, noped not anymore.

And take it from me, I still enjoy Nintendo emulators the classic retro games, Mrs pac man etc, so I'll have no problem at all waiting years! To get a better product to play then what I already have.

These companies are literally ripping off consumers and im taking a stand, had enough of there lack of attention to detail. Each year they either remove or try to rehash something that was already done only to mess that up to, what i see in this years game coming up? A roster update with sweat, and loads of players complaining the game servers are .essentially messed up and the my park, my rec is broken, with franchise/myleague having the same issues.

No thank you, not this time, my eyes are finally open against there nonsense.

I agree, this is very frustrating. I enjoy offline MyLeague with classic teams, courts, and other details far more than any other mode.

Do we have an idea when the servers might turn off, based on previous years, so that I might prepare? Forgive me if this question is common knowledge, 2k20 is my first since 2k11.

If 2021 goes like 2020 has that might as well be tomorrow.

Isn't it crazy that we just had this same conversation in another thread. It really shows the state that sports games are in right now.

I am done with Madden, NBA 2k, and NHL. I have been done with FIFA for a few years now and until MLB can give us some major improvement in franchise off the field, I am done with that too.

I lost my 8 years in Nets franchise a year plus ago. I loaded it off of the cloud onto my new ps4 after the 2k servers for 17 were shut down with zero custom content, all game generated draft classes, and poof, it was still corrupted because the servers were offline. I was mad for a good week at least. Against my better judgement I bought 2k20 last year thinking things were different.

Like you I am done with new sports titles from that group I named. I am not moving on to the PS5 either.

I will not de duped by 2k21 thinking that anything has changed. I know that if I have to download someone off of my cloud 2 years from now, it will be corrupted. So why but the game now when I can just get it in 2 years and start something that won't be corrupted in the end.

I accept I am no longer a key demographic of these companies. They know kids will always want the shiny new title so they can play and brag with their friends.

Like you, I will not be fooled again.

Re: Once servers are turned off for NBA2k20

This wont effect justa regular offline My League will it? I dont plan on buying NBA2k21, as Im sick of the lack of effort being put into My League, to fix the issues that keep it from being a true NBA basketball simulation, by the devs.

CelticLG has did a amazing job, in an attempt to fix the gameplay and the sim stats due to the trash sim engine. And while its not perfect, its a heck of a lot better than what their roster rating and tendency guy/s do.

I dont have any plans as of now anyway to buy a new gen console. I basically only play MLBTS and NBA2k, and I want to see how much of a boost in power and memory the new PS5 has, to see if it takes MLBTS to the next level, to where it closer to that of OOTP baseball text sim. I dont have much faith in NBA2k, as they have shown for the past few yrs now, its no longer about making a NBA simulation, which is why the sim engine is still crap, and why the gameplay issues, with lack of fouls and lack of non steal turnovers hasnt been fixed.

If MLBTS takes their game to the next level, to where its closer to what OOTP baseball is as far as stats, and accurate sim stats, and more MILB player slots, then I will more than likely buy a PS5, and if I do that, I will likely end up buying atleast 1 NBA2k game for it. But if MLBTS doesnt take that next step forward, which is likely possible, as they seem to be catering more to the online casual fans now days like NBA2k and Madden do, then I may be done with console video games, and just go to PC text sim sports games.

Is there a way to reset all of the rebranding during your myleague then save it as an offline file? Or will I just be out of luck?

Also if you download Mods for PC does any of this apply? Thinking of switching once I get a good enough computer.
