Yeah, I think i saw a small clip about that. That forced storyline stuff gets old. I miss the 2k13 and previous MyCareers, where you don't have all this extra fluff. There's a way to give the full athlete experience and have depth, without forcing a storyline.

It is weird how made him my position and similar size but kept his intended. It looked like he was a built 6'10 280 center but he played like a 6'4 200 combo guard. I know they are going to trade him away. But I would like to pair back up with him in year 2. If he is going to be that size with a guard skill, he will be a mismatch anywhere. Especially when I gain ability to set lineups

It does suck to be forced to play Rookieville when you have no intentions on playing online. Had to turn volume down so I didn't have to hear the chat. Played 1 game, game didn't take long. But having to wait for "got next " is a pain. I have limited time, so it will take a bit to get to Pro

🤦🏾*♂️ They traded him in the playoffs. Luckily it was for Patrick Williams so I still feel good about building with a young core. I’ll definitely be getting Cobb back one way or another though.

play 3x3 to get through it faster because you get WAY more points if you win, and a lot of guys are like high 80s even in rookieville. I liked it more than I thought and kind of wish there was a screen to just select 3v3 lobbie without having to wait...got next is straight stupid

I played 3×3 in the one game I played. It wasn't bad since I muted the chat. I was the only Center. So it was easy to get rebounds and score around rim. Only thing was 4 of the 6 guys had the brown shirt on, so it was hard to tell who was teammates.

Yeah that "Got Next" is a pain. Feels like every time I spawn in, all the courts are starting a game. So have to wait a few minutes just to get in. It would have nice to have that option against CPU to get it through quicker. Or at least if your team wins, you have option to stay on the court

It wasn't as bad to get out of Rookieville. It took me just three 3×3 games to get out. As someone who just wants to do offline, The City is a little too big since I only have interest in Gatorade Center and Daily Rewards.

I agree, i'd much rather menu's/lists even if I did more online. Does anyone actually like moving around the lame city? it's just time consuming - I can wait in real lines in real life!

I'm happy that I'm no longer in rookieville but that court was kinda nice. I liked how the Water looked. All of the courts in the city kinda suck compared to that. But I do not miss being stuck there lmao.

Played the first couple of games on my Center on the Grizzlies. I know they are going to trade Cobb eventually, but I definitely want to play with him in the future especially as he improves. If he has A potential, Cobb will be an absolute stud. They have him as a 7'2 2 Way 3 Level Scoring Center with great athleticism and ball handling. I don't really see him as a center unless for matchups. He brings the ball up the court and can handle PNR and beat bigs off the dribble. In the 2 games, we can play together. He can play anywhere on the frontcourt from SF, PF, C.

I definitely want to pair up with Cobb in year 2. Where after I get the Gym Rat badge and get to 90 OVR, I will sim to next season. Ideally I will play him at SF or PF depending on matchups and have a Dimer PG and a couple shooters on the wings

I'm about to get to the point where they're about to trade Cobb within next couple games. I hope there is a decent return for him. Since I'm a Center, they have Cobb as a 7'2 2 Way 3 Level Scorer. But, he plays like a guard. He doesn't even dunk often and when he does, he has a weak dunk package. He has 28 badges and a lot of HOF badges that he doesn't take advantage of. His playcalls are usually ISO, DHOs, and PNR. He has HOF post badges, but never posts up. We could play together. I would actually play him at the SF, more as a Point Forward than a Center since he has good ball handling. He is 7'2 with HOF Clamps lol. Depending on the team that trades for him, I might go there next season. He has the ratings/badges and athleticism to play and guard all 5 positions.

                        Re: My Career 2k21 Thread

Completed my Rookie season with my Center on the Grizzlies. I had only planned on playing 40 or so games and simming to next season. But, I wanted to play until I unlocked all the perks. I unlocked the ability to adjust Playbook after 42th game. I was hoping I would get the ability to influence trades/FA by the All Star Break. But, I never got it. I unlocked the custom shoe after 80th game. But I essentially simmed the playoffs instead of fouling out each game, so I don't know if that messed up my chance to get that ability to influence trades/FA. I played 5 minute Quarters at HOF after the 12th or so games, so the season flew by. The main benefit of playing the whole season was I got most of the grind out of the way. In years past, it took me a lot longer to get through most of the grind playing at 12 minute quarters with limited time to play games. So, heading into second season, I'm 2 shooting badges away from maxing all badges(should get next badge upgrade before 2nd game of season). I'm probably a couple games of unlocking 94 OVR. So I can just focus on playing games from here out.

I don't know if it was HoF difficultly, but man was my teammates(outside of Morant) was terrible. I wanted my Center to be a playmaking big, so I had my Pass Accuracy up to 75, Gold Dimer, and Silver Bullet Pass. But, I think I might have gotten 2 assists in a game ONCE all season and a lot of games with 0 assists. Couldn't buy a shot. We were 24th in FG%(45% as a team, Last in 3pt%(26.7% as a team), and 25th in FT%. My Center was 1st on team with 37.6% from 3pt lol. JJJ was a huge disappointment. We had rotating starters at SG and SF all season, I don't think we had a repeat starter at each position for more than 3 games. But still won 49 games and ended up the 4th seed. I simmed the playoffs. We beat Mavs in round 1, came back down 2-0 against 1st seed Lakers winning the next 4, then got swept by the Pelicans(they swept each team in the 1st 3 rounds) in the WCF round. There was no way I was returning to that team. I won ROY.

I signed with the Kings. I decided early on that I was signing with them. I never play on stacked teams in MyCareer. I always go towards young upcoming team with a young star and a need at my position. They had no Centers returning this season. They drafted a center at the 6th pick, which I like because he seems good and don't want to be only center in the rotation. Fox progressed to 87 OVR and I like that he has Gold Dimer. Our starting lineup is Fox-Haliburton-Avdija(traded last season)-Bagley-Me with Hield as the 6th man. I want the ability to influence trades just so I can improve the team. I have no desire to trade and have a lineup full of superstars. If anything, I just want to improve the SF spot over Avdija. I would want a good 3&D wing as a starter and slide Avdija to the bench. I would want to improve the backup PG spot to a combo guard who can pass and shoot. I'm just hoping that simming those games in the playoffs instead of fouling out didn't mess up my chance to get the ability to influence trades soon.

Since I'm essentially done with most of the grind, I can bump difficulty down to Superstar and minutes up to 10 minute quarters. I don't want another year of horrible teammates. I'll see if 10 minute quarters are good enough. Since they have me listed at 38 minutes, I don't want to play 12 minute quarters and having me play 40 minutes a game and have each game taking a hour to complete. I just want to play 36 minutes and have games take 40-45 minutes to complete. I might play the 1st game and take a week or so off from playing this game. A lot of games I have on the backlist to catch up on. But since I got through most of the grind, I can just play games for enjoyment and play games here and there.

my dude IvoSmak. haha so small he can't guard anyone inside. Man I made some dumb decisions in that game, but I was salted. I hate the team I'm on. Still, I coulda won haha.

Edit: I also set the line up so I didn't have to guard Booker, but they run it for like 2 min then put me back on him and he ate me up even on all star.

Great first game with the Kings. Beat team game so far that I played so far. I guess it was the combination of HOF and Grizzlies, but those teammates were terrible there. Nice to have a good game and teammates contribute as well. Somehow Grizzlies ended up with 1st OVR pick after winning 49 games.

Will be the first time I get a player over 92 OVR. It will be the first time I get to 99 OVR. Knowing that badges go up plus 1(except HOF) at 99 OVR, makes me want to adjust my badges when I get closer. There are badges where I'm good where I'm at, so I would want to bump down a badge a tier(having 99 OVR perk bump it back) and add that badge point to another skill. So potentially keeping a badge where it is by bumping it down and having it go back, while gaining a Silver badge to a skill I never originally upgraded.

Can anyone recommend good plays to assign to playbook? I never adjusted a playbook outside of changing play priorities. I want team to run better plays. Also would like plays that can generate a lot of assists to Centers. My Center should be a good playmaker by badges and ratings, but I want plays that can help lead to easy buckets for teammates

So I finally got my PS5 and I immediately went to go make me a 6 ft 5 208 lb 6'7 wingspan point guard... I came out with a 2 way threat now since I don't do too much research on builds my badge layout didn't come out to great but hey it works for me. I came out with a two-way threat 7 finishing 16 shooting 13 playmaking and 4 defensive badges.

My free throws are horrible [emoji23][emoji24].. I just got it up to 80.. Im currently a 90ovr and i play 12min quarters HOF with plays ran. My Bulls are 9-7 with 8th in the East.

Cant wait to see how far we can go.. My question so far is how many games until i can control the rotation minutes because our rotation is so trash. Also when do i get to make trade requests?

Those abilities should unlock at the same time. It's supposedly between before ASW/50-60 games. But, I never unlocked unlocked that ability for my player. You should get the ability to unlock Custom Sounds around 20 games, Custom Playbooks around 40-43 games.

I didn't sim a game at all my Rookie season and never got it. I even got ability to make Custom shoe by end of season. I guess some files were bad were some never unlocked it. I'm probably 5-7 games into 2nd season and still didn't unlock it. Only thing I simmed through in rookie season was dunk contest, but still did the Rising Star and AS game. I did sim each playoff game. But still should have unlocked it. It's sucks to because just ability to edit Rotations and suggest trades always added depth in MyCareer for me in the past. So many around the edges trades I would make for our bench to be better.
