Is there any way to make your NBA team run a specific freelance offense during the games in MyCareer?

I hate how you have to sort of improvise everything and no one ever sets an off-ball screen for me (let alone a double pindown screen type play) so I can never get open without just running around like a headless chicken and hoping the CPU defender gets caught up in some traffic.

Thanks - appreciate it. I'm also aware you can call regular 1-off plays as well.

But there's no way to make your whole team run a "Flow" or "Point" freelance offense automatically (like you can with regular games) when you're in MyCareer?

My Career 2k21 Thread

6’8” 185lb Pass First PG playing 12min quarters on HOF(as always) on the Knicks(as always). I made the all-star team, won MVP, a ring, Finals MVP, 1st team all NBA, and 1st team all defense in my rookie year. Actually played again Hendrixx Cobb and the Grizzlies in the finals. Swept them. I entered free agency in the offseason though I was always going to re-sign with NY. I always sign 1 year deals. I told the GM to try and sign Melo(Anthony), LM Aldridge, and A holiday brother in the offseason. They only signed LA🤷🏾*♂️. Anyways, I’m about halfway through my second season with the best record in the league by about 5 games.

throw it here but it might be more appreciated in the highlights thread. You can even pm it to me if you want. I just am interested in how people solve 2ks AI... which altho it is in BEEN SOLVED category, with few shifts each year, is legit enough to confuse people in the beginning.



I just unlocked my youtube acct awhile ago. I figure if all you gotta do is confirm your account, which is basically let them text you, I mean Google has my phone number at this point, and their OS is logged in through my gmail on my phone. Then you can send more than 15 min.



I'd prefer a full game if you got data cap + time to wait, but whatever, if it's 15 (or 5) min that's cool, too. I just wanna see how these stats are being generated. I'd also like to see someone who can get a whole bunch of rebounds haha. I wanna see someone w/ like Wilt numbers. I feel like that might be the hardest NBA record to break in 2k.

That's crazy, you run a pretty slow offense, too. Your guy is so fast; I wonder if being 6'8 helps with the oop passing.

Yea I pretty much just come down and run p’n’r and I push the ball whenever I can. Yea I thought I’d be very slow because I’m 6’8, but I was pleasantly suprised.

Yeah, one of those oops you threw to Barkley in vid 2 was crazy. I wish people would post more raw gameplay footage. I like to see how people play.

you can see my pace is way faster, and cheesy or not I'm pretty into drawing fouls. It seems realistic tbh. All of the play making builds seem 'faster' than they should, my dude is 6'7 too (at pf haha) and heavy, but he can still speed boost hard and push the break hard even without downhill.

Yea you play smart. Kind of like a Super draymond green. I play the way I play because it puts my Knicks in a position to win every game. Even when we lose we are in there. Do you average like 30 30 & 20?

Depends on what I feel. I got a good amount of dudes, sometimes I play 6, sometimes I play 8, 12... I really only get into the game when I'm playing 12 tho.



But yea I'm just having fun. I think people could benefit from just building what they wanna build and playing MC as they wanna play. It's not really a joke mode, even tho there is a little extra fluff, there is good basketball to be had.

I always have these dream situations, like signing with the Mavs... best front line ever. Porzingis, Me, Luka (even tho luka is at the 2 often...) but Luka always wants to hold the ball, too, so it's tough. Some games I just play more like Rodman. When they let me edit the line ups, I put myself at C, that was super fun. Super fast break team. They said you could RE EDIT the line ups later, but I haven't figured out how.


It's always fun, as I said, to see other people play, too. Thanks for posting.

The shooting has been absolutely ridiculous for me, I can't hit a single jumper. And I mean not a single one. I think I'm shooting less than 10% on wide open threes, probably around 15% on wide open twos. 82 3-point and midrange. Tested out a few different jumpers. I have silver/gold catch & shoot, flexible release, difficult shots, steady shooter and range extender.

Any tips or should I go back to NBA2k20? This has been an awful game so far for me.

I felt the same for awhile. My guy is 92 overall, I am only missing 4 shooting badge upgrades out of like 23 I believe. Cant shoot a lick. Turned MP into the best slasher ever to touch the court lol.

Traded myself from Rockets to Warriors hoping the shooting would get better. Instead it became a drag watching Steph, who was averaging like 29/8/7 on 50/40/90 shootings percentages before I joined, only average 12/4/2 on like 35% FG and 25% 3PT FG (having games like 6-29 FG and 2-15 3PT FG consistently) in the 10-12 games I stayed on the Warriors before getting traded to the Nuggets. Once traded, Steph resumed back to his normal self like nothing happened. Dropped 42 and 14 on us when I played them after being traded and hit like 9 threes. We're the #1 seed at like 38-13.

MP is basically a walking 30-point triple double now but not being able shoot when he is literally designed and built to shoot is just disappointing. I truly feel the shooting in this game, at least for me, is just broken. Not only that tho my team can not make any open shots its really just crazy. I can have teammates, starters or bench, literally go 2-3 quarters if not the whole game cold with the symbol. Regularly finishing games as a team shooting like 3/20 from 3. I literally have to facilitate so much pick and roll etc to get us high percentage shots. This 2K just aint it for me, I'll be impatiently waiting for next-gen.

Yea I figured I’d share the offseason moves screen they showed me. As for the shooting, me personally I only drive unless its a buzzer beater, but for my teammates.. I have very little faith in their jump shooting abilities. Now I don’t know if it’s because I’m on the Knicks and we have no real shooters, or it’s just the game. We signed L. Aldridge, Hardaway Jr. in the offseason, and drafted a rookie who has a decent jumpshot, and I have a little more faith when I pass it to them because they make more than the other teammates, but still not a high percentage. The rookie is shooting 41% from deep but he averages 1.2 3s per game. After him our next best % is a stretch big J. Porter who’s shooting 30% from deep with .7 3s per game.
