Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
How bout you + 1000000 people like you go outside to learn and play basketball IRL so that you can come back in 2K22 and see the difference and how realism = fun and so the rest of us can play somewhat realistic basketball on NBA 2K21 without the casual's noise stops drowning out sim nation lmao.Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
there need to better more depth into the shot contesting system where its not so simple to get high contest % even if you very close to shooter and it take high level of commitment to completely take away shooting option.
But then also shooting must have degree of difficulty in execution and have some level of uncertainty like it is in real bball games.Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
Every single year the 3PT Shot is OP with the right badge/jumper setup.
Have fun with 5 out basketball for the FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW.
Wtf is 2K's love affair with 40 foot 3pt shots SMHComment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
WAIT. You're blaming broken sliders on Twitter and YouTube? When will you guys hold 2k accountable and not the community that plays the game? Obviously this game is nowhere near complete and that's not the communities fault.
This game feels like Mike Wang didn't touch the sliders one bit. I think he's the root of the problem right now. Until he makes shooting harder and fix the shot contest system, you will still face the same problems.
You've made similar post like this before. Do you really play the game like that? 5 out basketball died a couple years ago. It hasn't been popular in this game since 2k18 when blow by's and snatch backs were OP. Since then not a lot of teams have run that offensive set up. You may see it time to time but it's not as popular as it once was. I think 5 out is the least of everybody concern in PRO AM.
I think we all have to stay level headed with our expectations of online play. As much as some would like the experience to be realistic, it's just not going to happen.Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
I think the issues really started around the time they introduced MyCareer. They needed new gimmicks to add to it each year and that's where badges and green shot releases came in. To me, badges and the green releases are what have killed the realistic gameplay. The constant catering to the YouTubers and crybabies on Twitter are what put the nail in the coffin. Now you have a series where you're trying to please two different audiences and it isn't working. They honestly should just cut the MyCareer aspects from the 2K series and make it its own game.
I was recently talking to someone in the game development business about these sort of issues. It's crazy to see how much 2K has turned away from their original approach and turned into what EA was with NBA Live. They're on the exact same path.
I don't see anything changing with the 2K series until some of the people at the top are replaced or smarten up. Hopefully soon another game company capitalizes on the opportunity and does what 2K did to Live 15 years ago.Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
Shooting is still king. As long as there's situations where you can have 3-4 Stephs on the court, it always will be. Thing is, with next gen, it's spread across builds [emoji38]
Even if they boost contests, 30%-40% 3 point shooting games ain't happening vs. those lineups for the most part. It'd be cool of they built a little "sim hub" in the neighborhood, but I'm not holding my breath at all.
Playing in this badge/rating regulated sim Pro Am league in January, Can't wait. Going to make sure the footage is posted here on OS. Theres some dope groups out there that put work in!Last edited by The 24th Letter; 11-16-2020, 07:03 AM.Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
They need to either give us our own little "Simworld" where we can have different online communities using custom sliders for each online mode or each online mode needs a regular world and a custom world. For example in Park, I don't know how hard it would be to just have a City dedicated to one slider set.
Do you play MyNBA at all? I've come full circle on vs AI modes; it's all we used to have, and I loved it back then. I got burnt out trying the impossible of making online leagues realistic, and am back now to 100% vs AI gaming for all sports. It's fantastic when done right, and is far more realistic than anything you'll find online.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord
