It's not even about winning or my record either. I'll never understand those people that will run over and check your builds and overalls before they join you or play vs. you. Like bud there's about 5 different builds anyone picks in this game and everyone plays the same. Just get on the damn spot

Some of y'all are basically saying you gotta just play through the BS but...that's a lot of BS lol. Honestly, most of the time I feel I'm "playing through BS" more than I'm playing a video game.

Sadly, I don't imagine next-gen being very enjoyable either. While I do have the means to get myself a PS5, I don't see a point right now as 90% of my free time is dedicated to trying to pass my professional exam. And I've decided the other 10% is better spent not with 2K haha.

At least I game-shared 21 with my friend (who stopped playing 2K literally after like 2 weeks). Only wasted $30.

its funny how folks complain about the online modes.

In 2k's defense; In an online mode it is impossible to regulate how a user plays or develops their builds.
The he/she "doesn't play fair", is a preschool backyard mentality and is very subjective.

Im not a 2k on-line gamer but to rectify some of these complaints maybe 2k can develop a room type system, where users can invite who they want to play on their court.

I’ve also giving up on 2k on current gen, I just lost mad interest, my park win percentage is great actually 82 percent but it’s annoying trying to find consistently good players, I just jump to myleague and had a little fun, all in all for me I’m just over current gen tbh

This was just something to hold us over until the new consoles release. That’s why it was basically 40 bucks with the Next-Gen bundle. Not giving 2K a pass I just came to grips with it

Imagine you're given a task and it's like... two people randomly... this is BECKY from NEW YORK and STEVE from WISCONSIN, GOOD LUCK BRO.

Imagine that the task was not so simple, or imagine that other people were laughing at you and your group, etc, the idea of playing with random people is SO TOXIC. It doesn't have to be, but like I said it created itself. It's a bunch of people who play like that because they are afraid if they don't, nobody will play with them cuz they will be a loser. It actually shows you how weak willed people are.

I used to think it was funny back on console, there'd be mad people in the park and a whole court open. I'd be like yo let's just hop on this empty court and wait for it to fill. Ever done that? haha... It's like people's minds are blown, you hope people eventually trickle in enough for people running by to realize that once you get enough people, the game will start... and then you can PLAY.

But it's not really about anything. It's dudes shooting stupid Js, making them, doing their taunt while the ball is in the air (green), and it's like h'ok, glad I came.

The basic point is... do you love basketball and is there any time that 2k feels like basketball and makes you remember your love for the game. If it doesn't, then don't do it...

Unfort a lot of us are on that yea it's just a game GRITS TEETH stuff then we get that one or two good games and are like wew. I do think that having different slider sets or having a different way to get games would be nice, but it's hard to stop people from playing META. Remember meta is not what's actually the best (imo) it's what is the lowest common denominator strategy that anyone can use.

And when you look at... the 3s... the oops, it can be like ehhh. I just wish there was a way that I knew how to stop the oops. Do you need a badge? I can be right there but I don't stop it, or rarely.

But the level of play has deteriorated as 2k got more popular... or as park did. One can only theorize... that maybe there are 'good 2k players' like streamers and such that surrounded themselves with meh players and ended up driving the people who didn't understand the meta back offline.

Our(my?) point is just that fighting thru it could be meaningful, if you get some fun out of it. I mean, if you meet cool people, you can play with them. But yea I quit for years. I quit L*ve for years, too. When a game is not enjoyable you gotta say it.

2k is alright, but I def wouldn't play hardcore random. haha. I run some games for fun but if i start getting frustrated, I go back to my safe haven offline. Offline mc isn't bad imo. Get that mad money. Come back and crush the comp. Like I said just making those bums have to pass off once, even if they beat us 21-7 or w/e, if I can stifle someone for one possession, I feel good enough. You gotta push REALLY HARD to make some of those dudes pass. haha.

              Edit:

TLDR, we wish the meta was real bball, but it's not. Some of the meta tactics would help make real bball better, but in general a lot of energy is wasted. Real bball is complicated, even running a play is complicated to people who don't understand all of the tools at their disposal. Pick and roll? (thumbs up), but in general it's not even a pick and roll it's... bump n shoot.

Have interceptor, decent steal rating. Position well. Press steal.
Body up the receiver when you sense it coming helps too. Gotta body before the animation starts.

How exactly do you expect 2k to force players to not use PGs, and not use screens back and forth until they hit a 3? I understand playstyles are frustrating, but I'm honestly curious how thats a 2k thing. What should they do? Ban dribble moves and screens? If certain things frustrate you that much it's best to just take a break from that mode for awhile. I just don't understand regulating how other people play in an online game that aren't even on your team. I doubt people will stop utilizing screens because of next gen.

Re: 2K's finally done it. They've lost me.

They should finally implement better foot planting to prevent sliding, gliding and glitching on the court. It is particularly noticeable by players with 99 spd/acc.
I am also kinda hoping for better badge tuning when it comes to the HOF brick wall badge. Right now if you get screened by someone with that badge, ball handler that you're guarding have a time to scan the entire court, have a capuccino and shoot the shot.
If said ball handler is play shot with spd/acc in high 90's, then you can expect curry slide warp speed glitch combo with long range three as per above.
If that is fixed, i have no problem with ppl using screens and p'n'r as main offensive strategy.
                    Just my 2 cents.
                    Gotsta git moar better.

I'm not even touching current gen. I'll wait to play it on PS5 before I call it quits. This current iteration of games have definitely overstayed its welcome. 2K20 is one of my favorites and possibly my favorite since 2K16, but I have not played 2K21. I have more faith in PS5's version.
