im pretty sure it will be balanced. if you go with a 90 3 and 90 driving dunk you most likely have to sacrifice physicals.

Hope you’re right but the video definitely made it look like you could easily max all of them including physicals.

After looking at the MyPlayer video again, it makes sense why the badges kept changing on the right. We can no longer choose the badges and level anymore. Well, that sucks. The concept of choosing badges and its level was a game changer for me. I was able to tailor the badges more to my playing style versus being forced to have certain badges.

You all keep pointing at the video like they can't change it before release. We're still 2 weeks away from release date. A lot of people thought Pie Charts were gonna be cheese since it gave us the ability to choose stats. Well it turns out pie charts was nothing more than archetypes

We'll see within the next week or 2 on what 2k gives us. They said they'd give more freedom with pie charts when that wasn't the case

Why are you trying so hard to dismiss the video??? The whole point of the video was to show us the MyPlayer builder.

That change makes the most sense of everything. Now you get HOF badges in 4 categories, and if you have a low rating in something why should you be able to get a HOF badge? The only difference now is you won't have access to a badge if you don't have any attributes in that category which if you don't use any stats for something you wouldn't of wasted a badge point anyway. As soon as you give yourself a little attributes, it jumps up to Gold, so you still can use every badge to a high level, but if your blocking is a 25 they just lock out the blocking badges is all.

Hey I honestly hope 2K was trolling us since I’m sure they knew people would be analyzing it. At this point I’d be surprised if it’s less than they showed because twitter would go bananas on them if suddenly people only got 800 points to spend. I hope I’m wrong though.

I’m not sure if that’s my read on it bro. I think it’s maybe just showing you the possible badges you’ll have to pick from and the maximum level you can make them. We never see the creation screen though so that’s just my speculation.

After watching video again, I don't mind badges not becoming available until you get to a rating requirement. That seems realistic. For example, you shouldn't be able to get Pick Dodger if you don't have X rating just because you're pulling down rebounds. I just don't want it like it was before where you had to grind for individual badges.

The badges seems determined by the corresponding rating. So, don't expect to get Clamps if you don't have a certain Perimeter D rating. I'm okay with that. I think you can still pick and choose which badge we want when upgrading, but it has to be something your player is capable of getting. It's something you have to consider when creating your player. If you're a guard and fully disregard rebound ratings, don't expect to get any rebounding badges to make up for it. So if you want a specific badge, you have to make sure you have the corresponding skill rating to match

I forget where I heard it. I think it's like it was in NBA 2K18. In order to upgrade your badge level for the Flashy Pass Badge, you had to throw flashy passes. I don't like, because it'll create garbage games due to people grinding individual badges. I like current system where you're awarded a badge point and used on what you wanted.

However, I do like the fact that they do lock out certain badges if you don't have the appropriate rating for it.

Yeah, I don't miss those days at all. In those days, I didn't even attempt to go after HoF badges. I remember how long it took after you got past Bronze. I remember Lockdown was tough that year. It felt like games were wasted grinding for badges. I do think the current system will and should continue. You'll just need to get ratings you a specific point to get certain badges

If they give us 1000 points my Center will be a monster, not even exaggerating. I'll be borderline unstoppable.

Well I posted a theoretical Center with 1000 points. I didn’t find it to be as overpowered as the guard builds because you can’t really ignore as many stats and you’ll likely have some lower ceilings due to height. I think it’s easily possible to be a great finisher and have a decent jumpshot. If you wanted to add post moves into the mix, you’d definitely have to sacrifice on either defense or driving though.
