NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Video From the Developers

Jrue sucked into the screen during the floppy play, no help defense, foot planting looks good still room for improvement. I hope they’ll fix something based on this video prior to release day

      Noticed. Looked really bad.

Favors lost on defense on curry's layup. Doesn't help at all. Instead, runs past Chris?

Small upgrades graphic or movemente, this is true. But for all rest of game, the same mechanics. Im tired of this.
You need to be viewing in 4K to understand how much the graphics have improved. The video wasn't in 4K. I'm sure once you get it in your home running on your 4K TV you'll be blown away. However, the gameplay is what I'm really not seeing much improvement with.

Now we need them to correct that shooting mess we have in current gen and perhaps we have a game in next gen... curious to know how MyLeague/MyLeague Online will work...

Next step would be to create two different experiences, one focused on Sim in the NBA related modes and another one more custom/arcade for Park modes... right now the balance is not there IMO.

PD: That Jrue beeing sucked into a screen worried me a bit, however the pick and roll with Zion interactions and collisions seemed much more natural to me... I guess there is still a lot of fine tuning to be done with this next-gen version...

This video shows a LOT of promise, but I don’t think the “Rail” camera angle shows the game in its best light.

NBA 2K has always looked best from a Broadcast camera angle, similar to PES and FIFA.

The foot planting looks wonderful but there does seem to be issues with the help defense. Hoping that’s cleaned up before release.

I feel like most who criticize don't have a ng console pre ordered. This is CLEARLY better than current 2k21.
Surely those who don't have a next-gen console pre-ordered are better equipped to make an objective judgement rather those those who have already put all of their eggs into one basket and have no option but to praise anything 2K puts out?

                Same game with pretty lipstick.

Not a bad thing but not great either. Was expecting more. Step back from jrue animations irks my nerves when shooting animations slow down . Also him getting stuck on the pick and roll.

                Coming from pc.

Wish this gem we could get away from difficulty levels. Arcade or sim and make folks learn basketball.

Not necessarily true, but I have noticed that people who don't have pre-orders tended to be the loudest (not just here) about what they don't like. It's almost like they're trashing on next-gen games and consoles to feel good about still owning their XB1 or PS4.

Take me for example...I'm just excited about the no/short loading screens, but the graphics look fine to me. However, I'm not one those people who expect "perfection" when it comes game art and movement. As long as it looks and plays good 99% of the time, I'm good to go. I have yet to play the "perfect" game.

Personally, I'm just not impressed with how lackluster the help defense still looks. Obviously, I'll still keep my eye on this but I don't know, I'm just really not feeling it.

Visuals look fine but if the gameplay isn't what I want I can find plenty other games to invest my time in.

Not this "I don't expect a perfect game" stuff again. No one does. This is a strawman. People are criticizing this game, because they feel it's not worth the price of admission, simple. If it was on current gen, cool, but we expected a lot more on next-gen. We're not getting it. And please don't tell us to temper our expectations. It's the PS5. It's completely reasonable to be expecting more than we've seen.

Also, fans didn't really react realistically to that contact alley oop dunk by Zion. The fans and benches should of went crazy...

Looks pretty good. Visuals don't jump out to me but that's probably do to it being a video on Twitter where it's not the highest quality. Gameplay doesn't look like a major improvement for a game that was supposedly "built from the ground up" but looks can also be deceiving. There's a lot of 2K games that look similar gameplay wise but feel different once the controller is in your hands.

Also I wasn't able to listen to the audio of the video. I noticed people mentioning 2 broadcast teams. Did they announce the crews for both teams?

Ryan Anderson and Grant Hill will lead the 2nd crew. I'm guessing they'll rotate Clark Kellogg (sounded like he was in the video, not sure though...), Steve Smith, Webber and the others as the 3rd.

the foot planting and IK is what got me the most excited watching that...I was really blown away!!!!! the step back 3 from curry is so lifelike and OMG did I mention the footplanting........

large Shout out to Erick Boenisch and Mike Wang for adding a little flavor to the marketing with voice over videos...I really enjoyed that and am looking forward in seeing more of this...

Loading time or lack off loading time I should say was bonkers

the PnR was so beautiful with no suction and the alley hoop ZW finish over the top of curry was lovely with the new impact engine...really love seeing that, so visually satisfying!!!

Am not a big fan of the green releases but the new splash above the bar is way more tolerable for me to deal with so..I guess am happy to see a version I can actually tolerate

Hmm interesting. Are Ryan Anderson and Grant Hill a crew in real life? Pretty sure I've heard Grant Hill on a broadcast before but not sure about Anderson.
