Mine is horizontal. Just make sure you have space behind it and around it so it doesn't overheat. The stand it comes with can be used horizontally too.

The only reason I haven't bought that game yet; I'm terrified of bricking my PS5
The thing is though I never put my PS5 into Rest Mode. My PS5 just literally shut down during a cut scene, which makes me believe it had something to do with the external drive and not Miles.

Maybe the external drive confuses the OS and glitches the system even after it's been detached? Who knows. I'll be spending my entire day playing PS5 whenever I get my lazy butt out of bed (took vacation to play PS5 because I'm a grown adult). I'll report back any issues I do or don't have with Miles and NBA 2k without an external attached at all.

Luckily I was able to fit all the PS4 games I play onto the SSD, as well as Miles and 2k, so I have no need for an external device at all currently.

I've had zero issues such as this. I've used rest mode, and have had zero overheating issues all the while this gigantic system sits on an enclosed shelf.

This thing is not quiet...it's dead silent. I have the digital version.

I've been playing all day, both Morales and 2k, without an external drive attached at all. I've put the PS5 into rest mode about 5 times for various lengths with ZERO issues at all. PS5 is running like butter.

I suggest anyone having issues to just detach your external drive and go without one to see if that helps you.

Well I guess I got a malfunctioning PS5. I reset to factory settings, and rebuilt the database. However, my PS5 still won’t allow me to put it in rest mode. Also, everytime I cut off the PS5 it won’t come on properly. It just blinks on and off. I have to unplug it 4 or 5 times just to get it to come on. Then when it comes on I only have like 10 seconds to click on the 2k21 icon. Once i get into the 2k application I am able to play without the system cutting off.

I deleted 2k21, and reinstalled it to see if that was the problem, and the PS5 is still doing the same thing. I called Sony, and they said they will have a specialist call me in 2 days. Smh.
