Re: Official NBA 2K22 MyNBA Wish List

    MyTeam Suggestions

    -Card's Rarity-

Card's rarity should be like the real NBA cards where there's a limit of specific cards you can get (1/500,1/99,1/1). This will motivate the players not just to have the best team but to collect cards. It also enhances the auction experience.

    -Attributes and Badges-

Card's attributes should always have the same attributes regardless of the rarity. If there will be changes, the changes should be based on real-life player tendencies. I don't like to see dark matter cards boosted all the attributes (Shaq can shoot 3s?!).

    -VC should feel optional-

If 2K wants the NBA game franchise to be an MMORPG grinding-like game, it should feel like a F2P and not P2W. No one wants P2W (maybe some).

Better season rewards are the key, and getting more random packs for every completed task should do it. Because the enjoyment in this mode is not only derived from competing with each other but from the surprising elements of opening packs as well.

I hope NBA 2K redeem themselves. I want to hear Da_Czar voice again says "Don't play video games, play Basketball"

My Top MyLeague / 2K22 Requests

2K features the best customization suite of any sports video game on the market. I’ve spent hours just creating draft classes, designing team re-brands, and customizing expansion teams. Just as 2K has a big learning curve on the court, some of their off the court features are a bit cumbersome to use. Here are my personal top ten requests for 2K22

      (1) - No lost momentum on the fast break or after a steal.

I don’t know about you all, but I’m frustrated with throwing passes on the break only for the players to completely stop when they catch the ball. Likewise, a chance for an easy layup after a steal vanishes because the player loses all momentum. So, either freeze the game briefly while the camera pivots, or keep the AI’s momentum when the user takes over control.

      (2) - More flexibility with saves for draft classes / rosters.

This is self-explanatory, but if I want to save fifty years of draft classes on my console I should be able to do that.

      (3) - Use created / downloadable teams in roster maker.

Let me import created teams into the roster creation suite. This will allow play now with created teams and also make life easier when building MyLeagues.

      (4) - More flexibility from the primary customize league screen

Let me fully re-brand / edit / replace the existing NBA teams if I choose. As it stands now, we can replace them with a historic team, but we can’t download a redesign to replace an existing NBA franchise. This means that we have to fully edit them inside the MyLeague.

      (5) - More accessible /understandable information

2K throws information and customization options at the user, but it’s a chore to figure out how it all fits together. They need to do a better job at explaining how different variables impact the game. Does anyone truly understand the effect of staff grades and how they effect gameplay? Why does staff often not improve despite high potential? What relationship does a player’s overall potential rating have with min v. max potential? There are countless questions like this regarding how certain attributes in the game interact, and I think 2K has to create a better method for giving users an understanding of what the game’s information means.

      (6) - No mandatory player nicknames.

This is self-explanatory, but if I create a player whose name is not in the game, don’t force me to stick him with a stupid generic nickname.

      (7) - Better trading AI.

There should be a flurry of activity around the deadline and generally fewer AI trade offers at random times.

      (8) - Better search functions in created content databases

Let us search for images by keyword. Let us search for created teams by gamer tag. We can bookmark a creator once we find them, but it can be a chore. 2K can clean this up to make it more user-friendly.

      (9) - More than 36 team leagues

How cool would it be to make a two-tier style NBA league with soccer-style promotion and relegation? Or to just expand the NBA to 48 or 60 teams? Let us do it! Also, let us have more flexibility in configuring the playoffs as we want.

      (10) Score banners always track primary color

There is something weird going on where a lot of created teams revert to a white score banner in game. This is annoying.

2k16 already did this. How I wish they will use 2k16+2k11 base gameplay for 2k22. That would be sick.

The combined Association,MyGM, and Myleague stuff was nice in theory but maybe go back to splitting them up. Some features actually conflict with each other since coaches get deleted the moment you operate multiple teams. Means no real HC to actually hire when one retires or gets fired. The players no longer transition to the coach area either.

I also think they need to update floaters in next year's version of the game. It is an effective and highly used shot. It would be a great addition for non dunking point guards.

I would love to have a player pool. Nate Robinson for example has a my team card but isn't on any rosters. So I have to create him.

Having a player would be great for doing resims of the NBA in 90s,2000s, and 2010

I wish they'd have better gameplay and definitely update players scan. There are a lot of outdated players that need the hairstyles updated, tattoos added and facial hair as well.

Realistic body proportions that match players real world body types.

Players to straighten their knees and actually stand up straight.

Players running over and helping teammates up when they fall.

                  Shoes to be correctly scaled.

Shoes editor to be updated for the first time ever.

Updated lighting so everything doesn’t looked washed out and dull

Multiple hairstyle/beard and headband options for each player or at least each handful of stars on each team

Mycareer/park and myteam to cease existence so the devs go back to focusing on what the game is supposed to be about which is the nba hence the title of the game

I like all these ideas so I’ll bring something a little different. They need to add drama and actually personality dynamics into the game. Player to player and player coach, coach - gm relationships should play a key role for hiring, signing and general running of the organization. Players need to build friendships kind of like in mlb the show, this would allow for super teams to be built, players leaving to team up with friends. Coaches losing jobs do to trying to lure a star player or please a star player. Or player beefs, like Russ would never sign to a team with Pat Beverly. Or if played relationships start to go bad a team will have to consider trading one or letting chemistry suffer and negative media attention... which leads me in to the drama and storyline aspects. Media pressure should apply to high rated players as they progress thru their careers leading to players leaving their teams or demanding improvements or trades, these stroylines would develop over seasons allowing for real dynamic situations. Weekly or monthly wrap up shows discussing the drama, award races, chemistry and coach player issues. Players personality’s should be more dynamic and meaningful. I think the biggest thing I’m looking for is immersion, the NBA is storyline driven and drama carries the season, I’d like to see that replicated in franchise mode. Would also make being a gm more fun, you can’t just go get a bunch of alphas and expect not to have issues, team building needs the right personalities and play styles.

Sorry if this was all over the place.

lol my bad and presentation... when a legend retires from your team or you win a trophy please allow us to view these events, let us walk around our team facility with our GM. Let me go talk to the coach, create real dialogue. Allow me to go to the scouting room and get real intel instead of dumb jokes that are a waste of time. Let me go to the practice court.... oh and if you want to have fun allow me to run pickup as gm with my players. Make 2k fun. Away games, account for the travel. Show the gm on the plane with the team, let us upgrade team planes, I know I’m going really deep. Just think there are so many things 2k can do and we ain’t pay all this money for next gen systems to not go above and beyond. Our imaginations and hopes are possible, and after all the money 2k has made. We deserve innovation and attention to detail

Quick fix : remove the badges acquisition in the "Player progression".
Ideal solution : base the acquisition on "achievements" such as "being all-star", "top scorer of the league", carry the team to the playoff, to the final, to the NBA title.

Badges should be a way to create more specific players and to differentiate superstars, all-star, role-players.

                            - Tendencies evolution during "Player progression" : there is a bug where the tendency "shot under" drastically decrease during the "Player progression" and the maximum becomes 25 for a player like Zion or Giannis, which is a total non-sense when you see Zion shooting 95% of the time at a maximum distance of 1meter to the rim (https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/zio...son-shot-chart). It will have a major impact in simulated games for "slasher", centers and players who like to attack the rim. Some others tendencies change for no reason like the shot tendency.

Quick fix : remove the evolution of tendencies during "Player Progression"
Ideal solution : the evolution of tendencies should be linked to the coach willing to see players shooting more 3 or mid-range, or new training or improvement of attributes/badges like "circus 3" badges.

Tendencies are a key factor in MyNBA for simulated games and in-game behavior, it should not evolve randomly.

New features / new behaviors : could be added by reusing in-place features

                            - "triple threat sizeup stepback" tendency : the current "stepback" tendency (3 or mid-range) will trigger a stepback in only one situation, during a drive. Where players like James Harden throw "stepback" mainly during triple threat size-up in isolation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSDJ-HffHrU)

I suppose we can add this new tendency to bring even more realistic behavior and to differentiate players, Lillard & Curry throw stepback 3 during drive when Harden throw it during triple treath sizeup in isolation.

                            - mid-range floaters : for years now we see players throwing floater far away from the rim, near the three-frow line, because the defender is closing the path to the rim.

                            There are 2 proposals :
                            - create a new tendency "mid-range floater"
                            - re-use the "mid-range pull-up" tendency and we could add some "floater" animations instead of normal pull-up shot animation

Thanks a lot for your time, always happy to discuss on it.
                            Dear developers,

I would like to add 2 new proposal for better realism :
                            - Slow motion offscreen-drive tendency : Some players like CP3 or SGA or Doncic usually do not sprint when driving after a screen, actually they just penetrate the paint in a "slow motion" to disrupt the defense. When a guy like Harden mainly sprint.

                            - More pump fake & more block attempt (especially at the 3 point line) :
The CPU defense in 2K is generally about contesting while in reality there are many block attempts, which are not successful. It happens near the rim and also at the 3point line when someone is open the defender generally sprints and attempts a block. Sometime leading to a foul.

It's a bit of a pity because pump fake (from user or CPU) are basically useless if defenders do not jump and try a block.

It's a huge disadvantage for the post game.

Also in real life the pump fake when a player is open at the 3 point line is so successful whereas in 2k it does not work because the CPU defender is contesting and not trying to block.

So the situation: pump fake at 3 then side step 3 or drive does not happen in 2K.

Also we see many players in real life driving to the rim, stopping, and doing a pump fake before finishing. This situation does not happen in 2K where every attacker never stops a drive

no more return to main menu message during gameplay. more unforced turnovers. more fouls. coaches making better decisions when players are in foul trouble. use to be better in past games. but now fouls only effect decision making early first quarter.

Re: Official NBA 2K22 MyNBA Wish List

I think the pick&roll should be reworked, both the offense and the defense from the CPU.

In real life this is the most used system and if a team has a decent playmaker this is a simple but incredibly efficient system. It is now used by so many teams and for the last couple of years the pick&roll defense has also evolved.

Here is the situation we see in NBA but not in 2K :
                                - Mid range floater = The defensive center go back to defend the paint and let the attacker open at mid-range.

                                - Alley oop = we do not see that many Alley Oop during pick&roll in 2K unfortunately even if we increase the sliders, where in reality many centers such as Gobert and Capela score only during this situation. It makes them useless in 2K if the situation doesn't happen.

                                - Bounce pass = maybe the pass animation is too slow or the playermaker vision is no well modelled but in 2K we do not see any "Bounce pass" from the CPU between defenders.

                                - Lob pass = there is no lob pass from the CPU in 2K.

The pick&roll defense is quite terribly modelled but settings are already existing to make it better. Each team has a way to defend pick&roll and that setting should be in the POE or Coaching sliders to differentiate CPU teams.

Also I don't get the 2 passing attributes "Pass IQ" and "Vision".
I would personally associate "Vision" to a sort of "read the defense" allowing playmaker to do "Bounce pass" when the defensive help is coming during pick&roll.

"Vision" should also allow playmaker to change their mind during drive such as the following situation : https://youtu.be/DqXXmAF2lUE

Trae Young won the isolation situation and he goes to the rim, when the defensive help comes he instantly sees a potential alleyoop to Capela. The decision making is fast and the pass animation is also very fast.

In 2K playmakers only pass the ball to a guy open at 3
