How do people deal with large contracts with guys in the lower 80s?

I always see people in the free agency after the the pre-season stuff who are not signed that should. Because of the amount of money they are asking. Do people just jack up the salary cap or do something else?

Curious to see the answer to this issue, a couple guys just stuck in free agency that should have teams.

Example, year two and Kyle Kuzma is just chilling in free agency. That shouldn't be.

Problem is that AI Management logic is still stuck a Few years back where a 80 ovr rated Player was a Borderline allstar, so These players that nowadays are nowhere near allstar Level still demand this Kind of money.

what i did the last two years Was up the contract sliders so that at the end of free agency These players sign for very low contracts

CPU roster management is still a mixed bag. What I do is switch the players position and then sign them. For instance, Isiah Thomas usually asks for more money than I think hes worth to sign with the 76ers. What I do is change his position to center and then sign him for near the minimum. Then I switch him back to point guard after hes signed. I used to do it with Melo to get him signed to a contender. If they're a guard make them a center, if they're center, make them a guard and then sign them for cheap.

I edit the contract slider. I start putting up the min rating in the slider daily in the offseason so that by the end of the off season free agency lots of guys will accept min contracts. I usually do increments of 10 from 50 starting at the 5th day or so

this is a must if you don't want to run into that situation.

The other way takes A LOT of roster editing to keep ratings down. Lowering potential of incoming draft classes and adjusting how fast players reach their potential/how fast they decline in the settings.

Does this also help out with the cpu teams too?

it helps in a way that Players accept less money in General, no matter if a User or CPU Team offers the contract. it does Not help in a way, that CPU Teams make stupid Management decisions.

Another hot fix is to mass edit everyones intangible rating down. All this rating is increase or decrease the overall of the player. But mass editing them all down will just bring the overalls down in the leaguebso that there is not like 100 players rated in the 80s. And of course, the lower the ratings, the less money they will demand.
