Really hoping we see some revamped player models for PS5/Series X similar to what I'm seeing from Madden 23.

What did Madden 23 do with "player models"?

It appears they altered the shoulder pads to look more realistic which does make a difference. Maybe revamped is too strong of a word. 2ks player models are not bad but they could definitely be better with some tweaks.

Well it looks like they haven’t updated body models I’m 2k23 judging my Jordan trailer. Players still have no butts. The retro shorts mod on pc makes such a huge difference, idk why they don’t just do something like that. SMH.

This right here. A great cyberface can be totally ruined by an inaccurate body type. Judging from the screenshots of the new Jordan, I am almost certain body types have not been changed at all. Time will tell if 2K changes that from now till the launch of 2K23

As history has shown people are gonna buy this monotonous, unchanged game regardless. Can bet though there will be a tonne of changes/updates to anything that is monetised.

Watch this. This is 2k21 on PC with mods. I'd wager anyone in the NBA2k visual arts department to tell me that "next gen" ps5 looks this good. And it's 2k21!

I have a large TV and with this vid playing I thought it was a real game for a second. I'm not saying to look at movement so much, rather just look how realistic stuff looks. The lighting, the crowd, the sweat, the accurate body types and faces, the detail, the scoreboard and stats overlays.... it's amazing to say the least.

Imo, there is no reason NBA2k22 and upcoming 2k23 should look this good or better on PS5 if we really want to call something "next gen". The series hasn't looked this good in years and I've been playing 2k since the Dreamcast days.

I'm asking the art department to step up drastically, bc the mod community is putting "next gen" visuals to shame right now. Next gen should look this good too, imo.

Is this the PC vid you’ve been talking about?

If that’s what you are looking for, I would definitely take the dive into PC. I love and have some of the blue tint mods installed but I doubt 2K or any other basketball game fully dives in that kind of direction regardless of if they make changes to the body types etc….

I have one like this I run on for 2K14

Nice, and yes it is. I’ve been a long time console player, but am considering investing in a gaming computer just to play this on pc with mods. Wish 2k would let mods happen on console.

Here’s another- Olympic ball vs. China. Looks great!

2k needs to adapt Unreal Engine 5 to the game visually. Would look amazing and take immersion to the highest level possible.

Someone else spoke of it in the Gameplay improvements thread but I feel too that 2K needs to stop developing for last Gen (PS4/Xbox One) and strictly focus on current Gen (PS5/Xbox Series X). That way what you speak of is possible. However as long as the majority of the player base is still on last Gen, 2K really has no choice since the games have to be somewhat comparable on all platforms.

Lebron is arguably the best to have played the game and one of the best currently playing. So when we have a facescan of his that has remained unchanged for 2k20,2k21,2k22 and now by the looks of it 2k23 it looks really bad on 2ks art team imo.

In no way do I hate the game and I still play it pretty regularly. But this being the art feedback thread I have to admit this is really frustrating to say the least and unfortunatly isn't confined to just Lebron.

4yrs and no substantial update to him apart from an incorrect length upgrade to his beard is imo unacceptable compared to what mods are achieving within days.
The argument of him having to re-sit for a scan clearly doesn't fly when the hiring of the pc modder Razor has shown with Jordan etc. Razor_2k is more than capable to replicate what other modders are achieving.

Below is just one example of a pc mod on LAST GEN created DAYS after he played in the Drew League yet 2k can't give us anything close to this in 4yrs? Is it a bias towards certain players, laziness, oversight or something else?

Ill save my rant about player body models for another day.
