Seeing the Boston video for this might be enough to push me for a Day 1 buy. I'm kind of a sucker for little things like this. The gameplay blog yesterday was enough to get me interested (hope the defense works as good as it sounds) this is like a little icing on the cake.

NGL, I've waited for this for over a decade. Hearing Lawerence Tanter call Laker games is iconic so him being in game is damn near a sell for me.

I wonder if they'll ever be able to have local broadcast teams for franchise mode when you play non national games. It would be so dope to hear Stu Lantz or Walt Clyde Frazier while playing games.

I would like to see TD GARDEN and not Boston Celtics on the floor, hopefully it will happen

Agree but I'll take whatever I can get lol. It's a damn shame that EA has a license for arenas like MSG and TD Garden (as far as I know at least) and they're not even using them for an NBA game. That should be something that comes with the NBA license. Not having all the real arenas makes the game a little less authentic.

Wonder what happens if you play with a classic team, will the PA announcer say their names or does it default back to the current PA guy that has has been in the game for years

Haven’t played 2K in about 3 years but from what I’ve read so far…this might be the year I break that hiatus.

                  This is very dope.

Classic are 100% in and it seems we might even get a boring way of announcing opposing teams.

                      Heads up. Updated OP link.

Matt Thomas for the Houston Rockets wasn't seen or heard in the trailer, but he is included. Ryan Cameron was dropped by the Atlanta Hawks, so they might have a generic PA announcer. We have followed up with 2K to get clarification.

Re: Teams releasing footage w/ real PA announcers!

I'm a little curious about how much...variety could they possibly have. I mean, are they the full time PA announcer or do they come in occasionally? Because the generic one can say every single player's name. I doubt each announcer will do that.

Kings Announcer has been answering questions about it on Twitter all day (@AnnouncerScott) and he says that all announcers did every name in multiple different ways, so when a player changes team, their name will be announced correctly.

This isn't widely known outside of Chicago but Tommy Edwards is the guy who actually came up with the iconic "Sirius" starting lineup routine in Chicago. He was the voice of the Bulls until midway through the 1990 season when a more lucrative offer opened up at a station in Boston. The Bulls brought on Ray Clay to end the 1990 season and Edwards was low key kind of crushed to watch Clay basically adopt Tommy's entire routine verbatim.

Most of us non-Chicagoans know it as Ray Clay's gig, and he did add an extra element with his voice and fervor, but Jordan & Co. probably would have still been running out to Thriller or the Miami Vice theme were it not for Tommy.

Here's one of Tommy's last Jordan Bulls calls.

Like, I said that if they could also drastically improve crowd noise/sounds, that would go a long way. Crowd Noise was one area of presentation I felt was really lacking. With the hype of 3D Audio, there is definitely a several notches they could go from where it was. I just want it to feel like you are actually in a NBA stadium, not someone playing crowd noise over a tape recorder
