Really curious about MyNBA this year. Lots of bugs last year took away from the overall enjoyment of the mode.

I hope this is the year they focused on very fine-tuning what's already in the mode while trying to make the league actually feel alive.

For as deep as the mode is, it's just not very immersive in the current state. News articles, breaking news transaction tickers that flash across the bottom of the screen, etc. Players actually having a personality, requesting trades because of poor team performance, we need that.

The NBA is such a players league, they need big personalities inside of MyNBA to really give you the full scope of being an NBA GM

Honestly if everything worked the way they intended it to (progression sliders, mentors, etc.) the mode would be perfect as is.. we can only hope!

Answer is no! My career isn’t my cup of tea. If people want to put money [emoji383] into the game to simulate of themselves that’s cool by me. I understand the distain you have against VC but like all other businesses there looking to profit their product.

This is my fault. In the picture in this thread, there was a setting for "Shot Aiming" and some leaked videos showed the setting too. However, there must have been an update (I'm presuming it will be the Day 1 patch) that removed the option from the settings.

For me, that's not acceptable, because it implies that shot aiming is still part of the game mechanics, responses, logic, or whatever you want to call it. To me, I was expecting the 1 to 1 control of NBA 2K20 or prior games, but I don't see how it's possible if shot aiming is still part of the game software under the hood. Obviously, I will see for myself, but I have low expectations.

If you don't want the timing on dunks, you can just use the normal dunk mechanics. Alley-oops are all timed now, though.

                      Real talk...

If shot aiming is still baked into the game software anyways, they might as well keep it unlocked, so people who want to use it can.

I wish Mike could explain this. Like you said it doesn't make sense to patch out the option if it's still in the game's code. Maybe this patch does more than just remove the option and takes the aiming mechanics completely out of the equation.

Either way I'll be looking forward to reading impressions on Friday to determine if I should buy the game now or later. There are usually some reliable people here that I can trust giving a fair assessment.

I hope they made tons of improvements to the mode, but, I also understand that My Career/Park/Rec/Online modes are their priority at this point.

MyNBA is still the deepest franchise mode for any sports game (2K and the NHL series are unmatched in this regard) so I'm hoping they have something up their sleeve for us offline players to take it to the next level.

Haha, I must’ve been the only person who liked dribbling in 2k21. Felt like it had more flow, as opposed to feeling jittery. Mainly though I’ve never been big into right-stick wizardry, but for the first time I felt I could actually handle a bit in 2k21. Like, you know if you’re sprinting one way (left or right) then press the opposite direction on the right stick, you’ll flow into hard crossover through the legs? How do you do that in 2k20?

Are you going to be getting the game day 1 or are you waiting to see reviews and impressions first? If you get it day 1 I'll be looking for your impressions about the shooting mechanics.

No aiming, that meter is for poster dunks only to make them skill based.
