Someone on YouTube pretty much nailed finding his jumper on 21 next gen. The thing that can’t be replicated most of all is his vertical on the shot.

I recall using the jumpshot 58 for the base that gives him a great vertical and Kobe on the release it’s perfect MJ

This still works for MJ on 2k22, (Not that you'd know - you can't see the damn players form on the edit screen) but the rest of his move set is jacked up because of the absolute lack of options.

I can't understand how a 7 year old game in 2k16 had nearly 120 sig dribble options to choose from, and here we are on a powerhouse PS5 and have hardly any options to choose from apart from current day player sigs.

It's incredible that they still include the classic teams at this stage, completely grateful, but without an adequate set of customization options to reflect their era's/playstyles then are they really any different from the 'John Smith's' that fill out the rosters?

So true but hopefully as time progresses, 2K adds more animations back into 2K22. For now we gotta make best with what we got. I assigned Kobe’s post Fade package as MJ’s and it looks pretty good. Other than the Post Fade and basic jump shot fix listed here, dunno what to do about MJ’s other animations

I was deciding between Kobe’s fade and the one Jordan comes with. Kobe copied Jordan’s fade so it’s pretty spot on. Only reason I currently kept the standard pro fade he comes with for now is because Kobe’s motions are distinctly more “floppy” than Jordan’s. The “Pro 2” fade or wherever he comes with seems a bit more surgical as MJ’s body motions are. But I’ll have to play with it more to verify.

Well I sent a link of this video to @petetoal on Twitter. Do you have any more legends signature videos from 2k20 that I can send to him?

I cooked this one up specifically for you bud, I don't have any others right now - would take me some considerable time to record the plethora of other legends sig edits I have in my roster.

What do you mean? He could use more very when needed, but his stand still jumper he didn’t jump all that high. 2K doesn’t have varying verts for different shooting strokes for other players, expecting that for MJ wouldn’t make sense.

Someone here once said in 2K11 on his long running shots he would get a lot of vertical as he really does.

Comparing between 2K21 and 2K22 next gen, after switching his triple threat move back to #4 (NO IDEA why they gave him the generic #5 in this game when #4 is his actual signature move which isn’t labeled as such) so you get his patented “show you the ball” palming, I’d say 2K22 is slightly closer to his likeness than 21. Simply because they added a running crossover of his which 21 didn’t have. Also maybe cause the Kobe fade is closer to his than what 21 offered. Also cause dribbling overall feels more similar to his.

The one dribble signature 21 has that I can’t yet figure out how to trigger is how standing “size up / escape” move. In 21, you hold R trigger up and he does that aggressive between the legs shimmy. In 22 you can see in his signatures that the move is still here, but since can’t hold R anymore or else it’ll shoot, I can’t figure out how to do the animation where he stutters and goes between the legs for a few seconds.
