        +2 OVR is from Attributes
        +1 OVR is from Badges

        OFFENSE
        85 (-1) Driving Layup: 77-149 (52%, 13% Ast'd)
        75 (+38) Post Fade
        65 (+35) Post Hook
55 (+17) Post Control: About 1% of his Offense each year
        40 (-49) Draw Foul (.134 FTR)
        99 (+9) Close Shot: 209-426 (49%, 16% Ast'd)
        79 (+7) Mid-Range Shot: 2-12 (Negligible sample - 40% for his career)
        82 (+2) 3PT Shot: 242-696 (35%, 62% Ast'd)
        90 (-2) Free Throw: 129-144 (90%)
        85 (-1) Ball Handle (40% of Offense On-Ball)
        59 (-1) Pass Vision (15.3 AST%)
        70 (-7) Pass IQ
        65 (-14)Pass Accuracy (1.46 ATR)
        40 (+1) Offensive Rebound (2.9 ORB%)
        35 (+10) Standing Dunk
        60 (-15) Driving Dunk (12 Dunks, 1.3% of FGA)
        99 (+4) Shot IQ (+4)
        80 (-2) Hands

Clarkson is a premier slasher in the NBA.
He has a post game that is completely unrepresented by 2K (which they've had SEVEN YEARS to pick up on)
They oversell his passing. He is decidedly not a PG.
2K over sells Clarkson's passing game; he is decidedly NOT a point guard. Those responsibilities fall to Mitchell when they share the court. Clarkson never starts even when Mike Conley is sidelined.
Clarkson also isn't a contact finisher by any stretch of the imagination, often opting for finesse (floaters), which should be fairly obvious given his frame & average athleticism.

        DEFENSE
        57 (NC) Defensive Rebound (12.7 DRB%)
55 (+12) Interior Defense (Average for SG)
75 (+10) Perimeter Defense (Average for SG)
        39 (+4) Block (0.4 BLK%)
        67 (+21) Steal (1.6 STL% - I use the OG scale)
        60 (+2) Shot Contest

Clarkson's man defense was fine. It should be noted this made up only 8% of his actual defense IRL. 2K disproportionately weights these attributes relative to the modern NBA.

The Jazz were the #4 Defense in the NBA, and Clarkson was 5th on the team in minutes, so he clearly wasn't killing them.

        ATHLETICISM
        75 (+2) Lateral Quickness
        80 (+1) Speed
        80 (+1) Speed w/ Ball
        85 (+3) Acceleration
        85 (NC) Vertical
        50 (-4) Strength
85 (+5) Stamina (Plays starters minutes. Played 46 mins in his lone start this season)
        70 (-15) Hustle
95 (+10) Durability (Has missed 10 games in last 6 years)

80 Stamina (which Royce O'Neale shares) is absolutely wild considering 34 year-old Rudy Gay has 94. It reflects how piss-poor of a job 2K does outside of the 10 attributes they update regularly. Most go years w/o getting updated. The billion dollar company pinches pennies when it comes to staffing their own game / making sure competent & *organized* people are in the trenches. But I digress.

        MENTAL
        95 (+10) Offensive Consistency (2.89 ORPM - 4th among SG)
        40 (NC) Defensive Consistency (-2.85 DRPM - 115th among 116 SG)
65 (+16) Pass Perception (He is below average, not abominable)
70 (+12) Help Defense (Slightly Below Average)
85 (+17) Pick & Roll Defense (Above Average)
        80 (NC) Intangibles

As we can see from his RPM splits, Clarkson is the ultimate Offense-only player.
Worth noting Clarkson's OVR isn't being depreciated by 2K's Intangibles. He is legitimately underrated.

        2K BADGES (23)
FINISHING (7): Tear Dropper (S), Acrobat (B), Fast Twitch (B), Fearless Finisher (B), Giant Slayer (B), Slithery Finisher (B), Unstrippable (B)
SHOOTING (9): Volume Shooter (G), Difficult Shots (S), Hot Zone Hunter (S), Mismatch Expert (S), Stop & Pop (S), Catch & Shoot (B), Green Machine (B), Rhythm Shooter (B), Set Shooter (B)
PLAYMAKING (7): Bullet Passer (S), Glue Hands (S), Bail Out (B), Downhill (B), Space Creator (B), Stop & Go (B), Triple Threat Juke (B)
        DEFENSE (0)

I personally combed through badges for the entire league and updated based on in-depth NBA data. 2K has not been willing to put that type of work in.

        R2K BADGES (32)
FINISHING (8): Tear Dropper (G), Acrobat (B), Fast Twitch (B), Fearless Finisher (B), Giant Slayer (B), Pro Touch (B), Slithery Finisher (B), Unstrippable (B)
SHOOTING (12): Difficult Shots (G), Volume Shooter (G), Catch & Shoot (S), Hot Zone Hunter (S), Mismatch Expert (S), Stop & Pop (S), Circus Threes (B), Fade Ace (B), Green Machine (B), Rhythm Shooter (B), Set Shooter (B), Slipper Off-Ball (B)
PLAYMAKING (11): Bullet Passer (S), Glue Hands (S), Quick First Step (S), Space Creator (S), Bail Out (B), Downhill (B), Handles For Days (B), Stop & Go (B), Tight Handles (B), Triple Threat Juke (B), Unpluckable (B)
        DEFENSE (1): Pick Dodger (B)

Clarkson gets a significant overhaul to his badges. He is one of the deadliest scorers in the NBA off the dribble.

        R2K CHANGES
GOLD: Tear Dropper (+1), Difficult Shots (+1)
SILVER: Catch & Shoot (+1), Quick First Step (+2), Space Creator (+1)
BRONZE: Pro Touch (+1), Slippery Off-Ball (+1), Circus Threes (+1), Fade Ace (+1), Tight Handles (+1), Unpluckable (+1), Handles for Days (+1), Pick Dodger (+1)
I don't mind most of your changes and badges, though I do think you're overselling him having a post game and his defense by just a tad, I don't think any of that is a big issue for the sake of you trying to raise him 2 overall points. I think most metrics would paint him as a slightly below average defender, not average as you mentioned below his DRPM is horrible, I think that should effect more than just his "consistency" because while it's not enough to hurt the best defensive team in the league it likely would hurt a lesser defensive team that relied on his abilities.

The issue is shot IQ. 99.. Should be lowered 10 points, 20 points, personally I would say well below league average as he has some of the worst shot selection in the entire NBA. He's a gifted enough offensive player that he's still going to score, but his decision making for when to shoot/pass is awful and why a guy who's as gifted and as talented as he is shoot 40% in the playoffs and 42% in the regular season. He routinely passes up the extra pass to take 5 more dribbles to clear space for poor shots, he's the same mold of Crawford, Lou Will, etc.

Offensive consistency is going to fall somewhat in the same boat here. His offensive output fluctuates more than most players in the league given his playstyle and role. This is why he's not actually the type of player to hit that 18ppg every night but rather 11 points one game and 40 the next. It's why his shooting percentages are so sporadic, why he's a 40% shooter in the playoffs, also why he can have an offensive rating of 110 in Feb then drop to 94 in March, then back to 106 in April, up to 116 in May.

Close shot is a headscratcher, he doesn't take enough shots at the range to make him have an inside shot rating comparable to the best centers. I'm sure he makes a good enough percentage of them but he's only taking them when he's basically wide open (even I would be a 99 then). He takes basically 1 shot a game that's 0-3 feet, and a big chunk of those would be floaters, lay-ups, dunks, etc anyways. He shot 49% from 3-10 feet, but again it's only 2% of his shots, and likely dominated by floaters which will be dictated by badges.. If he's 49% and that's a 99 then what are all these guys who are hitting them at 50+% clips to be rated? He needs to be able to hit floaters which you solved with the badges, he doesn't need to be able to get near the basket and score every time he isn't blocked which is effectively what rating him the same as prime Shaq around the rim is going to do in 2K terms.

I like most badge upgrades, but I think I would have removed fearless finisher, giant slayer, he just doesn't get to the rim and make plays like that frequently enough. The gold tear dropper you upgraded represents his at the basket game.

Quick comp to 2K's other SGs in this tier
        82 - Collin Sexton (18.0 PER, 57 TS%, 23 AST%, 30 USG%)
        82 - Caris LeVert (17.8 PER, 53 TS%, 25 AST%, 29 USG%)
        82 - Terry Rozier (17.1 PER, 58 TS%, 20 AST%, 24 USG%)
        82 - Fred VanVleet (16.8 PER, 53 TS%, 27 AST%, 24 USG%)
        81 - Tyrese Haliburton (16.2 PER, 59 TS%, 25 AST%, 18 USG%)
        81 - Anthony Edwards (13.9 PER, 52 TS%, 15 AST%, 27 USG%)
        80 - Bogdan Bogdanovic (17.6 PER, 62 TS%, 18 AST%, 21 USG%)
        80 - Victor Oladipo (14.3 PER, 51 TS%, 23 AST%, 29 USG%)
        80 - Malik Beasley (14.6 PER, 57 TS%, 12 AST%, 24 USG%)
        79 - Jordan Clarkson (17.1 PER, 55 TS%, 15 AST%, 30 USG%)

Their ratings are atrocious outside of the top 50 players.
So just out of curiosity what players in this tier do you prefer him to be better than? You highlighted Edwards but one thing to factor is that he was a rookie last year. His year long PER, TS%, etc isn't a representation of what he was at the end of last season. Or what we would expect this season. Him being a rookie he's going to get the benefit of the doubt on ratings before this year starts as progression is inevitable. He finished the season averaging 27ppg in May on 65TS%, April 22ppg on 55 TS%, March 24ppg on 52 TS%, same could be said for Clarkson being worse in the playoffs, maybe they decided to not give him the benefit of the doubt and raise too much for him given that his PER dropped below league average, his TS% dropped, and he was a negative on the court.

I've been waiting for a reason to get a PS5. Despite my jests about spreadsheet, the real reason will be Spider-Man 2.

I'll update my PS4 roster as I do homework on the badges that were added to current-gen, but will jump ship once I make the system swap. (I probably won't start making YouTube content until the upgrade either, seriously it's so embarrassing to look at this on PS4).

While I appreciate supportive posts like this, I am not interested in working for 2K at this time.

(The sarcastic tone of my posts is not exactly that of someone trying to get hired)

I will say a few good things about the 2K roster.
I like that they aren't afraid to remove badges when they aren't working out, rather than keeping them forever. This makes the badges that do continually make the cut much more meaningful.

They should follow suit with a few ratings. Now that we have a Hustler badge (long-overdue), the Hustle attribute should go the way of the Dodo.

Re: NBA 2K22 All Player Ratings

Considering making my edits available via Patreon this year.

            Joel Embiid
            Position: C
            H/W/A: 7'0" / 280 lbs / Age 27
            97 Overall (+2)
            36 Badges (-1)
            Archetype: 2-Way 3-Level Scorer

            +3 from Ratings
            -1 from Badges

            2021 STATS
            29-11-3 on 51-38-86
            30.3 PER (2nd)
            64 TS% (19th in NBA) on 35 USG% (2nd in NBA, 22nd All-Time)
            16 AST% on 0.91 ATR
            8 ORB% / 29 DRB% (6th in NBA)
            1.5 STL% / 3.9 BLK% (15th in NBA)

Usage rate was 3rd most by a center in NBA history (behind two seasons from DeMarcus Cousins). Given his efficiency, he's arguably the best scoring center of all-time. Embiid got Hakeem comparisons in college and he’s more than lived up to that billing.

            95 (+3) Post Fade
            90 (-2) Post Hook
99 (+3) Post Control (37% of Offense, 1st in NBA)
            99 (+2) Draw Foul (.610 FTR)
            95 (+5) Close Shot: 241-519 (46%, 40% Ast’d)
            99 (+7) Mid-Range Shot: 74-150 (49%, 37% Ast’d)

            75 (+18) Ball Handle
            60 (-3) Pass Vision (16 AST%)
            65 (+7) Pass IQ
            60 (+5) Pass Accuracy
            65 (-17) Offensive Rebound (8 ORB%)
            70 (-20) Standing Dunk
            65 (-15) Driving Dunk: 41 Dunks (5% of FGA)
            99 (+1) Shot IQ
            99 (+1) Hands

2K is inflating Embiid’s ORB to add 1 point to his OVR.
Finesse finisher not dissimilar from Nikola Jokic. Why are his dunk ratings so high?
            Playmaking is underrated.

            DEFENSE
            98 (+5) Defensive Rebound (29 DRB%)
            95 (-1) Interior Defense (Elite for C)
70 (+6) Perimeter Defense (Slightly Above Average for C)
            74 (-8) Block (3.9 BLK%)
            65 (+22) Steal (1.5 STL%)
            95 (-1) Shot Contest

Block is likewise a tick overrated to inflate his rating.

            ATHLETICISM
            65 (+1) Lateral Quickness
            60 (-9) Speed
            60 (-2) Speed w/ Ball
            65 (-2) Acceleration
            60 (-8) Vertical
            99 (+4) Strength
            90 (-4) Stamina (31 MPG RS / 33 MPG PO)
            70 (-20) Hustle
65 (-3) Durability (67% of games played in active seasons)

Embiid is fairly lumbering and will never be confused with a transition player. 2K raised his Speed!

If we include the first two seasons he missed to injury, Embiid has played 47% of possible regular season games (260 of 554).

While the injury risk is real and will dog him his entire career, some of this is an abundance of caution to ensure he gets to the Playoffs (34 of 38 possible Playoff games, 89%) and has played through some injuries once there.

            MENTAL
            99 (+1) Offensive Consistency (2.04 ORPM - 2nd among C)
            99 (+4) Defensive Consistency (2.98 DRPM - 6th among C)
            65 (+1) Pass Perception
            90 (-6) Help Defense (Elite)
85 (-3) Pick & Roll Defense (Above Average)
            99 (+24) Intangibles

2K reduced Embiid's OVR by 1 via Intangibles. They could just max him out here and not overrate his ORB
