Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
4th season with my fantasy drafted Philadelphia 76ers Myleague Online
After 2 years of rebuilding and a conference finals loss we’re going into the 2025 playoffs with high hopes. Led by young SG Nafis LeMar whose averaging 43 points, veteran wing Jayson Tatum, and 5 year guard Anthony Edwards with good glue guys like Jonathan Isaac and Bol Bol and Kawhi and Jaxson Hayes off the bench. We have the best record in the NBA but the competition at the top of the league is so high there’s no telling what will happen. With Jayson Tatum on a one year deal these playoffs will determine the future of our franchise.
If you guys want an update on what happens, some insight on other teams around the league, or to join l our online league let me know.

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
About 10 games into year 2 of my Wizards franchise.
Bucks won the championship in year 1. I mostly simmed while handling the GM duties. A week before the trade deadline I took control of some teams to make some trades for them. I'm not super anal about "that wouldn't happen in real life." So some of the trades I did may not be plausible in our real world, but they were plausible in my alternate NBA reality lol.
Some of the trades:
Spoiler
Celtics get: De'Aaron Fox
Kings get: Al Hortford, 23 1st round pick
(Kings were facing another year drafting top 10. I looked for a deal to give multiple 1st round picks, but couldn't find anything that worked for me. This move gave them another first, plus with Hortford's contract up at end of year, their cap space would be nice)
Hornets get: Doug McDermont, 23 1st (Lakers - swap best), Garret Temple
Pelicans get: Terry Rozier, Ish Smith, 22 2nd round
(Pelicans were making a playoff push (they were top 4 in conference), Hornets needed some cap flexibility to build around Ben and Ball)
Wizards get: Robert Covington
Clippers get: Davis Bertans, 25 2nd round
(Covington's contract expires end of year. Bertans did not. His deal coincides with Leonard's contract, so Clippers maintain optimal cap situation)
Wizards get: Reggie Jackson, Vit Krejci, 23 1st (Clippers - swap best)
Thunder get: Thomas Bryant, Ziare Williams, 26 1st round
(Thomas Bryant was butthurt over not starting and was going to walk in FA anyway. I'm good with giving up a future draft pick for another pick early, if that '26 pick is a lottery pick it means I'm not doing a good job anyway lol. JAckson expires end of year)
Hornets get: Ben Simmons, Paul Reed
76ers get: Miles Bridges, Gordon Hayward
(The simmons trade was done using trade finder. Ben's trade value in 2k is not as high, and rightfully so. I don't think they will get as much when they finally do trade him as some seem to think)
Raptors get: Paul George, Terrance Mann
Clippers get: Gary Trent Jr, OG Anunoby, 2.45M trade exception
(Leonard is out with torn ACL. Both he and George are over 30. Their roster can not compete with the younger teams out west. Maybe not the most realistic trade, but I liked it)
At the trade deadline the Nets were 5th so I flirted with the possibility of a major trade involving Kyrie, but didn't find anything acceptable. Not a lot of teams have cap flexibility.
Heading into the offseason I liked the Wizards cap situation.
Draft details:
SpoilerFor the past god...20 years lol I've always created the same batch of players in my franchise modes. I enjoy following their careers and creating storylines from them. The drawback of course is it removes some mystery so I'm kind of "scripting" aspects of my franchise.
Anyway, my created players and where they ended up:
C Ben Reily 80 ovr -- Kings. Old school back to basket center. Boom scenario is Olajuwan clone.
PF Deon Clark 78 ovr -- Rockets. Low post scorer, room to develop a mid range J. Out of all my fictional players, he has the most room to diverge. Solid all around, but not excellent in any one area. He could morph into an elite defender, become a Mailman clone, or a KG clone.
PF Deonte Keller 76 ovr -- Wizards with the 11th pick. Normally my created guys don't last this long. When he was still available I grabbed him. Basically a Ben Wallace clone. No offensive skill but a superb inside defender. But may struggle defending smaller 4s on the perimeter
SF Brandon McGee 84 ovr -- Magic (2nd overall). Prolific scorer. Think Jordan/Kobe clone. I set his max and min potential to 99 so yeah lol
SF Davon Austin 85 ovr -- Pistons #1 overall. The anti-McGee. Not a great scorer, but does everything else. McGee is a SG/SF, Austin is more of a SF/PF. Elite dunker and defender and can play point forward. I build him with the idea of a statline like 16ppg, 8 rpg, 6 apg, 1.5 spg, 1.2 bpg (,his prime could be more like 24/9/8/2/2). So yeah, all around beast. He has a rivalry with McGee dating back to high school.
SG Kevin Williams 81 ovr -- Mavericks. A Wade clone. 99 speed, acceleration, and speed with ball, plus 95 dunking. Potential to become elite perimeter defender but his J needs work to reach the next level (74 mid/68 3)
Brandon and Davon are overpowered rookies but that is by design. Their rivalry creates a nice storyline in franchise
I briefly took control of the Kings to make a play for one of the premier free agents. They were able to land Zach Lavine. Most other stars resigned with their team.
For the Wizards I resigned Beal obviously. After creating a little more cap space via trade with the Thunder (Hachimura for Mann iirc) I was able to land Bobby Portis. I love his versatility.
Going into the new year my lineup is:
PG Dinwiddie/Aron Holiday
SG Bradley Beal/Tre Mann
SF Kyle Kuzma/Deni Avdija/Corey Kispert/*Mac Henry
PF Bobby Portis Jr/Deni Avdija/Some fake free agent
C Deonte Keller/Daniel Gafford/Isiah Todd
*Is this Mac Henry real? He's a free agent with a generated face with A+ from 3 and perimeter D.
I have a lot of depth at forward. Nearing the trade deadline I will probably look into landing a perimeter defender. My backcourt gets abused. I made a play for Danny Green (A 3pt and per D) but he chose the Spurs even though I offered significantly more money. I like my front court. A lot of versatility and potential for several different lineups.
Quick notes:
*Philly started 0-10 and fired Doc Rivers. Okay my bad Philly, maybe that Ben trade wasn't great lol
*Magic landed a once in a generation talent in the draft and seem intent on sabotaging that. They started 2-10 and I wanted to know why cause their roster isn't that bad. It was cause of their budget. Their head coach was literally 0 stars for both offense and defense. Guys, c'mon. You landed the second coming and you're spending millions on a big man coach??
*Detroit is another story. Currently second in the conference at 9-2. When I did my own season preview and checked each team's overall at the team selection screen they showed as a 95. I don't really know how. They have the same coach and didn't make any big free agent signings. The austin effect maybe? lol
*Is Phoenix broke? They're like 3-6 and I just got done playing them and half the time Ayton or Crowder dribbled the ball up the court. Booker barely shot until the 4th quarter. Paul was a non factor. Same coach as real life. Missed the playoffs in year 1 also
*Next offseason is shaping up to be a big one with free agents. I'm monitoring trades and vetoing anything that gives some teams too much salary (like the Knicks and Magic, they will have tons of cap space this offseason to sign a max free agent, I will not let the AI sabotage that lol)
*Top teams include Pelicans, Heat, Pistons, and Hornets.Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
So after restarting my franchise I’m 1-0 with the bulls beat the pistons 108-82. DeRozan had 28 and 7 assists. Lavine had a triple double 20p,10r,11a. Vuc had 17p and 19r. I usually just dominate the paint and score 70-90 in the paint every game but that was extremely boring so I turned on real fg% and switched to the shot stick and had a lot more fun. Only scored 52 in the paint and my shooters made shots they should make.Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
I’m going to do what I did last year which made it fun for me.. and that’s create myself as a Head Coach to give me a College Hoops 2K feel.. and build thru the draft with an expansion team. I’m not really a fan of the rpg of the mode anymore.. but I’ll at least keep chemistry and morale for coaching purposes

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
Perhaps this has been explored elsewhere, but what is the deal with all of the free agents being rated in the 90s and having A+ potential? Is this a mistake, or is it deliberate and scouting-related?Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
I'm running an OKC Thunder MyLeague (also posting it in the Basketball Dynasties forum here on OS!) and was looking for some input. I was thinking of floating an offer to the Orlando Magic for RJ Hampton as I would love to get another ball handler on the roster besides just SGA and Josh Giddey.
What do you think would be a fair offer for him?Comment
