Okay, big men… what finishing badges are you using?

Okay, big men, what are you doing with your badges… particularly your finishing badges.

Ive seen plenty of articles about “BEST FINISHING BADGES IN 2k22!” but they all seem to be aimed at slashers, not the post bigs.

Between backdown punisher, dream shake, dropstepper, fast twitch, fearless finisher, grace under pressure, hook specialist, mouse in the house, post spin technician, posterizer, putback boss, rise up, and slithery finisher, there are a LOT of badges for the post scoring big man, and that’s not even counting unstrippable and tear dropper And pro touch and lob city finisher and limitless takeoff and so on…

So, big men, what are you doing (or planning to do) with your finishing badges? Which ones are you focusing on? Are you going many lower rated badges, or few HoF ones?

BTW, I think I am going to try most badges on silver or so, instead of just a few at HoF. I think having a relatively positive impact on 12 or so variables is more important than a big positive impact on only 4.

Mouse in the house, dropstepper, and pro touch are MUSTS for bigs this year.

Have a 94 center (Played a whole bunch of rec so just purely from an online perspective)
        All you want is:
        Fast-twitch
        Grace under pressure
        Put back boss

        Others are optional
Backdown pusher - You will hardly get the ball in the post so don't bother
posterizer/rise up - Standing dunks are almost non-existent this year even with these two on hall of fame
Pro touch - You want to turn your layup timing off especially online and this badge only works if you have it on
Hook shot - See backdown pusher
Mouse in the house - Its alright - If you make an undersize center obviously it is useless
Dream shake - See hook and backdown - If you get someone with a pump fake you are going to score regardless of a boost from this badge

Again this is purely for Rec - Against the CPU they are all good

Since I usually make a Shaq-like build, this is what I run with...

          Posterizer
          Rise Up
          Drop Stepper
          Mouse in the House
          Fast Twitch
          Grace Under Pressure
          Put Back Boss
          Lob city finisher on bronze
          God wants you to succeed

When I got mouse on ayton in test I was like aiigh. I got two dudes cuz they made 6 10 for contract. Rip my 6 9 c standard build. Anyway went 7 3 cuz speed and contact changes n don’t regret. Got 28 fins. I always take pro touch first; I’d take unstrip or w e. Both contacts, grace. Hook prol.

I loved being a space eater back when guards who couldn’t shoot were jumping under rim w their bigs. I think we’re back to big bigs but lesse. I know my dude is stupid even at low rating w o my 25 (gold o well) d badges. Be big, kids. This is your moment.

Re: Okay, big men… what finishing badges are you using?

If you don't use shot timing on layups, does pro touch actually do anything?

Also, I haven't seen Grace Under Pressure show up often as being activated. Is it showing up for other people?

And man, I'm not getting many standing dunks this year. Like, barely any. And I'm 7 foot with like a 95 standing dunk I'm still not HoF on posterizer or rise up though, so...?

Grace under pressure probably pops up more than anything, that and Mouse in the house, even for guys an inch shorter it seems, lol

Really? I get Mouse, but rarely Grace. Lemme keep at it.

How you doing with standing dunks?

Mouse in the House is an absolute must for big men. You can finally make teams really pay for having undersized bigs or for making a bad switch and leaving a perimeter player on someone in the post. If I'm anywhere near the basket and get a smaller guy on me; I can catch, post, and go straight into a leaning layup before the double team comes and it's going to be an easy 2-points the majority of the time.

Fast Twitch is also very useful for people who like to throw in a lot of up-fakes under the basket. It makes it much more likely that you can fake someone off their feet and get a layup off before they can go up to try to block you again.

Yeah, as a big who pump fakes a lot, its been brutal, because defensive badges are easy to get so lots of people have gold Pogo and stuff, so they eat my pump fake and STILL get up quickly enough to contest the second time. Fast twitch seems to help.

I just figured out something that might make me reevaluate my list - You can do quick little standing layup floaters in the paint if you are close enough that trigger the floater badge, you can do this by holding the right stick down. It's a bit janky because sometimes you will get a slow fade away animation. So a combination of fast-twitch, mouse in the house and tear dropper might be interesting, will test it out.

Standing dunks are iffy, even by myself sometimes. Contemplating moving my "Rise Up" points elsewhere....doesn't seem to make a difference.

Someone said it's most useful when combined with posterizer. Haven't tried it yet.

Pro touch hof w even bronze mouse is noticeable difference. Grind grind. Grace will be icing. I missed like ten lay ups w no real contest v an ai in rec haha. Prob hof intim. If grace negates intimidation, it’s ok. I feel it’ll be bodies once I get my badges but it’s tuff times.

Like I said bronze mouse is def life changing even v ai for badge grind.

Edit: I’d recommend learning animations and release. You do blow bunnies if you time poorly (that quick hook always gets me) but release w pro will allow you to make shots you never dreamed of.

Grace under pressure triggers with hook shots.

Rise up is combo with posterizer.

Fast twitch goes with both combos.

Also dream shake is a must if you post up.

Hof dream, grace and hook is insane.
Add in hotzone and im not sure how you are supposed to miss.
Pro touch used to work with this as well but havent tested this badge yet.

Dream also a great combo with post fades and sniper.

Personally im probably going to go with fades and hooks rather then standing dunks as there are so many badges with so little badge points.

Got 32 finishing so i might try to get to
