Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Interesting with lateral quickness at 47 and on ball defense at 47 and a few other changes I am seeing a lot less of that brick wall stuff. I know some people didn't like it but I thought nba 2k18 was perfect with the blow by and lack of brick wall animationsComment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Having the right players with Play Initiator is really important for playing against the AI IMO. Off the top of my head, I think Giannis has it, and believe it or not, I think he doesn't deserve it.
I know he has the ballhandling and the passing to be a decent initiator, but since his first play type (rightfully IMO) is Isolation, this basically turns him into Harden, as he brings it up and goes one-on-one for multiple possessions in a row. He does come up and attack his man in iso IRL, but not as often as if you have PI on him. Just make sure he has a high enough Ball Handle so he can push it when he gets a rebound.
Here's a list of players who have it, but whom I think don't deserve it:
Carmelo Anthony
Kent Bazemore
Matisse Thybulle
Georges Niang
Grayson Allen
Aaron Nesmith
Brandon Clarke
Desmond Bane
Patrick Beverley (he's the only full-time PG I'd put on this list, but even still I'm tentative)
And players who don't have it, but whom I think do deserve it:
Draymond Green
Andrew Wiggins
DeMar DeRozan
Kawhi Leonard
Gordon Hayward
Jimmy Butler
RJ Barrett
Dillon Brooks
Bogdan Bogdanovic
Joe Ingles
Jayson Tatum
Malcolm Brogdon
Devin Booker
Nicolas Batum
Terrence Ross
Nikola Jokic
Caris LeVert
And here's a list of players I think might deserve it, but I'm not sure. Anyone who knows a lot about these players and/or their roles in this context, feel free to chime in:
Zion Williamson
Jaylen Brown
Bam Adebayo
Pascal Siakam
Evan Fournier
Julius Randle
Tim Hardaway Jr.
This all is just my opinion; I could definitely be wrong. If anyone disagrees with anything, don't hesitate to let me know.Basketball Playbooks

No question! The tendencies this year more than any other are extremely responsive! And that goes for all of them…Basketball Playbooks

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
On ball defense and lateral quickness work for sure. Before the roster update and patch the other day I had both at 40 and was seeing much better results when it comes to being able to get past the defender and slow guys being to good at defending fast guys. After the updates it was to easy to get past the defender now have them at 47 at 50 the like brick wall defender is a big problem.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Are you guys missing any Free Throws with user timing? I've jacked the difficulty up to 100 and down to 0. Seeing no difference and I'm hitting every Free Throw. I might miss 1 during the course of a game...Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Does 2k tend to change tendencies a lot in roster updates at least from when the game comes out to when they release opening night rosters? Or do they tend to keep them the same. Yes I know to that people make rosters changing these things. Also what about franchise mode and when you start to get into year 2 and later and have new rookies come in how do you go about tendencies with those guys?Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Block shots and offensive rebounds are now the 2 things I am trying to work on the most has they are both way op on default. I have put blocks at 37 for user and 46 for cpu and getting good results. Offensive rebounds I have only played like 1-2 games messing with rebound sliders so need more time for that. With defense and getting by guys or not I fell like I am getting basically perfect results now. The one part I am still trying to work on with that is finding a balance between getting easy layups vs getting fouled vs having layups contested.
I was seeing too many easy uncontested layups before leading to to high of PIP and too high of a fg% in the paint. I am starting to see better results with changing the takeoff and release sliders for defense on layups by upping them some. Think some where between 65-70 might be good. But I am testing at 72 right now.
How many foul shots are you seeing? I am lucky if I can get more then 15 in a game.Last edited by Smallville102001; 09-19-2021, 01:48 PM.Comment

I have to edit a whole draft class to match the roster I use with scales I use. Not ideal but necessary. LolBasketball Playbooks

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
I also have speed at 0 and acceleration at 100 taking some advice from some one on the slider forums. Before the last like roster update a few days ago I had LQ at 40 and on ball at 40 to but after the update I was seeing less brick wall than before the update and so I had to up both LQ and on ball defense to get the same results has before. Movement and being able to get by guys or not was one of the first things I was trying to work on has that really is the biggest thing to try to find realistic results has getting by guys to easy leads to more layups and more help defensive having to come over leading to more outside shots where not enough getting by guys leads to having to take hard shot. Block shots and offensive rebounds are now the 2 things I am trying to work on the most has they are both way op on default. I have put blocks at 37 for user and 46 for cpu and getting good results. Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Got you just sounds like a lot of work even more so with new players coming in year 2 of franchise mode. I know any tendencies changes by 2k would not be at the level that some of the people do on here but just didn't know if they changed any tendencies or if 2k like 100% left those alone and just changed more like the skills.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Agreed. The FT slider is completely broken. Doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried it at 0 or 100 and no difference.Comment

Glade I am not the only one that thought I was going crazy lol. I might go back to real player % for foul shots like I am using for regular shooting.Comment
