If u get body on them it’s a good contest. I did fine without intimidator but people kept dunking on my head so I had to put it on. He might mean vs a hook or facing/fading shot, but as soon as you get into someone’s space it affects a shot immensely. I dunno if any more effective way to defend the paint but I’m 7’3. If ur six ten or so yea ur hands up means very little to me.

Id put it on a misunderstanding of what he’s saying or what we’re saying. Not sure anyone is wrong. Play hof and u see the cpu stopping itself w hands up. That’s why hof is kinda not fun even w the gains. Plays realer on all star.

Edit body blocks that are fouls suck. When people just maul you and you lose the ball.

Man, as a post I’m struggling pulling off standing dunks. Like, wide open I still sometimes do these terrible layups. And if someone is there, no way do I dunk.

Biggest things for me are the improved controls and the reduction in body blocks from the happy jumpers....now I can punish them...

I’ve played some 3v3 no-squads lately and it’s crazy how all these dribble god, zigzag pull up 99 3-point dudes realize that their big dude in the middle is dominant and actually start looking for me to get open shots. Playing as a big this year is so rewarding.

Defensively, some of the block animations are great. In offline career if anybody tries to take a jumper in front of me it gets spiked, hard. It’s satisfying.

When I play MyTeam, I feel like hands up is effective when compared to the alternative of hands down. I guess in my mind, something is better than nothing. The contest does forces the offense into different contextual animations caused by the hands up. I guess what I'm wondering is how are we defining "effective"?

To say that it's absolutely doing nothing would be wrong. Yeah, it may feel like it's ineffective at times in the post, because the bigs are missing way less bunny shots when compared to previous years. However, the counter is that I'm blocking way more shots without fouling or the AI bailing the offense out.
