The majority of my ball handling advantages have felt random to this point, where the defense doesn't react at all to what felt like reasonable moves at the time but when I hit them with something weak as an afterthought, they're liable to almost glitch shift from time to time, finally allowing an opening of some sort.

If next gen really does bear those same similarities, I don't know if I'd consider it very beginner or casual friendly. I tried to bump down all CPU defense sliders and even then, so much of the game feels herky jerky, complete with casual pushbacks most times when I try to sneak into the lane.

I am so glad I saw this because it confirms I am not crazy. I just played my first game and wound up turning it off after about ten minutes because the way the CPU players were able to glitch to where they needed to be in perfect defensive position. Didn’t seem natural at all and I quit the game out of disgust.

It is getting fairly evident that 2K, Madden, and The Show do not give a **** about sim players and their games are becoming glorified gambling simulators with gameplay being an afterthought.

For me as a casual offline old-school gamer, I know after a few games if I like a new game or not by the feeling/fun of the game - regardless of if OS praise it or consider it a piece of junk. I usually read some impressions here and there and ask some questions, but never even bother with the issues because I am usually not even aware of 98% of them.
This comment pretty much sums it up. I know and play enough basketball in real life, that I know what I expect from a basketball game. However, I'm not some die-hard fan where I'm going to notice the nose hairs are wrong on a particular player, or the playbooks are incorrect for a particular team. Reflecting on it, I would consider myself a skilled casual player.

That's great news man! Glad to see good changes in life.

I'm putting some time into mycareer at the moment and it's insanely hard. To the point where it's borderline not enjoyable due to how hard it is. You can't make any mistakes or you are punished.

Don't judge 2K gameplay by your MC experience, it's designed to be trash unless you put in money.

I just made an updated post on here about the sliders I am using. I am still testing a few things but getting pretty good results. I am not seeing the so called broken defense that some people are saying is happing now after last update seems the same to me. My only real issue besides lack of turnovers and foul shots 2 problems that are like just 2k problems for years is that right now my 3pt % is to high both me and cpu. Going to try shot coverage impact at 46 down from 47 may try 45 too. For turnovers I am going to try ball handling much lower than 40 that I had been trying going to try 25 may even try 0 to see if it increase the amount of times that players just simple miss handle the ball, and like have the ball go out of bounds. Right now I am not seeing a lot of those type of turnovers.

Hopefully I will be ready to start a MYNBA with my lakers in a week or so. I plain to stream my games in MYNBA like I have been doing while testing sliders. Hopefully 2k patches the MYNBA issues I have been hearing a lot about by the time regular season starts in about 2 and a half weeks.

Wouldn’t lowering shot coverage impact make more shots go in?

Same. I don’t see a difference in the D including help defense. Seems the same to me(at least when I have the ball). My only problems are like you… lack of turnovers and fouls. The three point pct for me is ok now. It’s weird, it’s like someone flipped a switch on my game with the threes. Just played a quarter on default All Star and both me and cpu shot about 25-30% in threes. Paint points were absurd in this game from the cpu tho, 18 out of their 19 points were in the paint.

That is what I thought at first but I think there are a few sliders that work backwards/different then you would expect. Shot contest I think is backwards. I played a game with it at 0 and CPU was contesting like everything and blocks where up and saw the only foul on a 3 that I have ever seen in a game this year. Shot coverage impact I think is like that to. I played a few games with all sliders the same other than shot coverage impact being at 35 and then at 65. So 15 from default and at 65 I was making more shots.

It's never been has extrem for me has it has been for some people. Like I have not seen 60% plus on 3s all the time like other people say but to many games are at 40-50 and not enough at like 30-39 and below 30 almost never. NBA average is about 35. I have my 3 point shooting at 51 and cpu at 52 because CPU seems to be worse when it comes to 3 point shooting then user. Some things I notice with equal settings that the CPU is worse at and some they are better at. Rebounding is another one that cpu is worse at. Steals CPU is better at. PIP are a little higher than I would like but not crazy high but part of that is because there are not enough fouls

Also an average joe gamer here.

NBA 2k22 is the best nba game in years imo.

Not only does it play better than the last couple of years, but it is immensely fun and I easily got through a season in one week (play 1 sim 5). The last time I got through one season was 2k16...and that definitely wasn't in one week's time.

Would highly recommend! Plus get schnaidt's sliders.

Re: This forum makes it confusing on whether NBA 2K22 is good for an average joe game

I am a casual player and play primarily mycareer. From a gameplay standpoint this is the best 2k in years imho. I will say that the AI seemed unbearable initially, but after about 2 weeks I found the game to be much easier.

My gripe is with the skill gap online. It seems like everyone in the city is a YouTuber or watches these vids on how to spam moves and play at a ridiculous level. I can barely sniff a win at the Rec or the park because I don't have the time to treat 2k like it's a part time job. Hahaha

I wish 2k would either find some way to balance things online, or make the mycareer nba experience a little more robust. I have already completed a season, won the chip, ROTY and Fonals MVP...there's no interesting off-season stuff, and no year 2 narrative. I can't earn any significant season xp because I can't dominate like these other cats that just pad their own stats and have zero interest in playing a team game.

At some point I will give the franchise mode a try, and check out some of the sliders here. I like to play GM and then Sim (watch) mostly when playing franchise, but after a while it gets old and I go back to the torture of mycareer hahaha.

All the slider sets I've looked at use real player % for shooting and I'm not a fan of it. Ya'll know any good ones without it?
