Yeah that’s with shot impact at 50.

I dunno what’s wrong with my game but I just played against my own custom the all time Nets and Petrovic was relentless from 3. They were hitting so many I got frustrated and turned their 3 point sliders to 0. He still hit some! Lol.

You don't see this on default.

I moved mine down to 25 which is as low as I’ll go and I trust the other member/s here who did the testing (and recommended 25 over 30) did the leg work properly.

30 felt great but I just want to move around and hit jumpers freely especially with the sticky on ball D.

Lowered my shooting sliders to 52 (home) and 51 (away) to balance (CPU shooting sliders same, except I turned their 3 point sliders down as their 3 completion rate is too OP). No shot meter or annoying green splashes etc.

Hoping this is a good formula. Everytime I get a formula I like the game changes and my sliders become too weak or strong.

Ive got mine at 20. Might even go to 15.

Also, they turned the fouls back on.

Oh wow. I guess I just moved my “how low will I go” floor down then lol.

I noticed last night I was fouling the other team a ton. But I still couldn’t draw any myself. They had 23 free throws and I had 3-4. Moved my shooting foul sliders (for both sides) up to 65 to compensate for potential losses of shooting fouls with lower defensive strength sliders (which don’t seem to affect fouls much since I haven’t been getting them since the last update anyway).

Ive always found shooting sliders are an individual thing.

But foul sliders? Max those ****ers. Ive been getting 12-16 the past few games.

Do foul sliders on the user side determine how many fouls happen TO us or how many we commit?

I haven't tested this year. Both were bad on default so I maxed both.

I hope that's true about fouls but have a hard time believing it fouls have been way too low for years.

Revisiting this since the contesting dynamics seemed to change after the most recent update.

I pushed layup and close shot defensive strength sliders to 60 with my original 25 jump shot defensive strength sliders, as well as pushed help d strength to 60, and NO jump shots went in. It was weird. I couldn’t make anything. It may have to do with me also pushing CPU defense sliders (on ball, lateral quickness, defensive consistency and awareness) to 80-90 as well as slightly raising off ball player min/max speeds but it shouldn’t since the jump shot contesting sliders were still so low.

So I put the layup/close shot strength sliders back to 50 and lowered my jump shot defensive strength sliders to 20, and it seems like a pretty good balance. Contested shots still feel harder to make than before I started messing with the layup/close shot sliders but it’s a decent challenge. Tempted to move jump shot strength to 15 but idk if it would become too easy for good shooters to make buckets.

I think maybe a roster issue… equip the Deadeye badge to players, then maybe lower the defensive release slider and maybe raise the shooting slider.

40 Defensive Strength Release <> 55 Midrange Shot to start with Deadeye Badge.

I've always voiced that 2K is a game of extremes. There is not much nuance with a lot of mechanics compared to real life ball. Either you are a terrific defender or a trash defender. Everyone can make tough passes, or the passes are slow and inaccurate. Everyone can shoot or no one can shoot. Tough shots are impossible to make consistently. Only Curry/Klay are immune from this because of sky high 3 point ratings and a ton of gold/hof shooting badges.
