    Anyone plays older 2K still?

Hi guys, I am so disgusted of the recent 2k games, like for the past few yrs and have been doing some research to see which past 2k is worth to play again and the result seems to be 2k16, so I opened up the game and I couldn't stop playing, it reminded me of why I loved playing 2k back in the old days, honestly I couldn't stop everything was just so perfect, is not like pick and roll drive to basket dunk all day.

By the way, anyone knows if there is a updated roster for 2k16 I can use? I am playing the game on my PS5 right now.

    Thanks!

I regret getting the Series S solely because I wish I could play 2K16.

I’d be curious to see how I feel about it considering 2K21 and 22 Next Gens are the only console 2K games I’ve played.

I’ve personally gone back to 17 on pc. I like being an expansion team. Can’t really explain but it’s the one I’ve had the most fun with. At least there’s injuries and fouls in 17. I go pc because there’s no relocation limit on pc like the consoles. I rebrand/relocate about seven teams.

2k21 sucks big time on PS5 for me, 2k22 was quite well out of the box but now it seems everything is kinda f-uped. What's your view?

I still play 2k14,15,16,17,19. I go through spurts with all of them.

2K22 is the most frustrating game I’ve played.

Because unlike 2K21 it’s actually an extremely great game.

Except they keep breaking things that didn’t need fixing and the game keeps changing. And it’s always close to perfect but something game breaking pops up. Like for me defense has been actually decent recently but all of a sudden I’m not getting fouls called which wasn’t a problem at all at launch. Or halftime crashing. Etc. etc.

I think it’s nearly ideal basketball game in its purest form. But they never give us that complete form.

Those of you who’ve acclimated your senses to 2K22 and jump to 2K16, is the graphical downgrade really noticeable?

The thing about basketball games, if you ask me, unless you’re super picky, they haven’t changed THAT much in a long time. I mean I have 2K20 Mobile which used the 2K13 engine and graphically a casual player wouldn’t think it’s “night and day” from 2K22 next gen console. I.e it’s still passable.

Funny thing about this, while the cyberfaces are obviously better, the lighting and overall look of 2k16 looks more realistic. I don't know exactly what it is, but 21 and 22 look a little cartoony in comparison.

I agree. But I cant fathom especially playing on a ps5 to quit because of those things to play 2k16 lol to each his own though

No doubt. And the arena wasn’t as dark back then if I’m not mistaken.

To this day the most realistic video I’ve seen of a 2K game was like 2K9 or 11, whichever one has that Celtics vs Lakers promo where the crowd is crazy hyped and the arena is foggy from a smoke machine. The atmosphere is crazy.

I can definitely see 2K16 feeling more realistic, other than maybe face scans.

Forgot to mention, someone mentioned playing 2K16 on PS5 and said it was noticeably better than it looks on PS4, which sounds pretty enticing.

Not true. I recently downloaded on my PS5 and while the colors pop more, it’s basically the same. If you’re use to playing in 4K then it’ll actually looks worse than you remembered.
