This. You absolutely cannot go into this game without editing the sliders (and if you're like me player tendencies) to suit your opinion on what a fun basketball game to be.

At the very least, why are tendencies not updated until someone becomes a superstar or establishes themselves in the league and their rookie year tendencies no longer make sense?

If it is generally understood that the base set doesn’t make sense, why does the roster team put that out or not update it? How big/small is the team?

Lol you asking the wrong people if your looking for a reason why. They haven't touched the tendencies all year and im not sure they even update them throughout.

Celticlg drops an ATD roster usually around midseason with all tendencies and ratings reworked. Game seems to play as intended with his edits.

Using ATD+Custom Sliders and theirs a huge difference between cpu offense in my nba and playnow.Playnow offense is far better

Yes this is what i have noticed. The CPU plays better in PlayNow and in MYNBA it's bad. Anyway ive pretty much just given up on it

Incredibly the cpu offense in mynba has become NBA Live 10 - 2 passes at most, then someone is chucking it. I’m clueless as to why the cpu can play in myteam and play now, but not in mynba.

There is another thread on here discussing it, i think it has something to do with the patch fixing the left right abuse online. The CPU is now unable to dribble past the defender resulting in the CPU reseting the play then being forced to take a bad shot. But i don't understand why it's worse in Myleague. I think there may be some coding in Myleague to simulate hot/cold streaks or good/bad teams and that is not present in play now. I could be totally wrong though. I played a game yesterday in myleague trying ALL STAR default raptors vs wizards and it was a bit better... Maybe it got tuned again who knows. I really do feel like it is randomized in myleague if the CPU will play well or not and since the last patch when the CPU decides to play bad.. its bad.

I just wish 2k would archive their patches and let offline players decide which version they want to play with. It's frustrating that we buy a product new based on reviews and a a month later they totally change the product without our approval. I understand fixing the online cheese but i really don't care about online play, i just want to relax and play offline basketball...

I certainly think there's an attempt to simulate hot and cold streaks, and I think that this might be what the Offensive and Defensive Consistency sliders are for. I've had a quick look around and there doesn't seem to be a consensus but this is a number of people's theory.

Raise CPU offensive consistency and lower USER on ball defence and defensive consistency and this might make it easier for guys to dribble past you and get open.

I certainly think there's an attempt to simulate hot and cold streaks, and I think that this might be what the Offensive and Defensive Consistency sliders are for. I've had a quick look around and there doesn't seem to be a consensus but this is a number of people's theory.

Raise CPU offensive consistency and lower USER on ball defence and defensive consistency and this might make it easier for guys to dribble past you and get open.

Unfortunately raising offensive consistency has no effect on getting the CPU to run an offense. It’s still 1 pass and take a horrible shot.

I’ve started a ticket with 2k, they want video examples. If anyone has any comparison clips of the difference between my league and play now, let me know.

I'll second the recommendation to use ATD roster. Check the roster section of forum for info on it. Saying it's a night and day difference is actually an understatement. It's a different game.

I must say this week i had much better games. I upped the Cpu shooting and dropped my defense so that they could drain some shots.. it's possible that once the CPU misses a few shots at the start of the game they get cold and cant ever snap out of the cold streak and as a result play poorly/make bad decision.

I believe the same. If you have shot feedback to all, you'll see the cpu have many late and early releases. I took a different approach to mitigate the poor offense. I set the shot timing impact for the cpu to 0. That's an immediate improvement. I lowered cou body up sensitivity to 30, which allows cpu ball handlers smoother flowing movement. Try just those adjustments.

The only flaw to the consistency sliders is that they effect individual player attributes, so moving either of them up or down, simply raises and reduces those attributes to all your players, causing undesired results. I tend to leave the attributes alone because of this fact. I think the sliders that directly effect the core mechanics and mathematical equations bring the best results.

I lowered all User attributes to 45 and raised CPU attributes to 55. (except Fatigue Rate remains 50 for both)— game plays outstanding. And I have my shooting sliders for both user and cpu at 50 (except layup and inside at 40).
