It got harder for me for a week and now it’s back to easy to make again lol. I hate how inconsistent this game is. Sometimes it’s perfect and then they screw it up out of nowhere, then it goes back and forth.

You're doing something wrong then. I average about 22 free throws a game.

For most people the main issue is that the CPU doesn't get to the free throw line so there ends up being a huge disparity in FT attempts.

I have no idea how you are getting 22 free throws a game. I tried Schnaidts with ATD Roster and in the first half did not get one free throw. Nets vs Celtics I was Nets. Something has changed recently where they were at least calling some fouls and now it's at almost zero. I've tried base rosters with all foul sliders at 100 nothing.

1 1/2 games with the Sixers and went to the foul line 5 times.

I am glad "you" are getting to the line but there is a major problem with free throws this year for most people.

Yea I just played a game for the first time in months. Seemed to play ok but lack of FTs on both sides. I had several instances where it looked like the foul animation but nothing is called.

You know what really makes this worse. Watching the Sixers/Knicks game yesterday and seeing 44 Free Throws for the Sixers and 35 for the Knicks.

I think I am noticing part of the problem is that there are almost no fouls called on Post moves. The only fouls called are driving to the basket or reaches. Some charges if you are holding turbo which I am in the bad habit of doing and the rare illegal screen as well. But inside fouls are super rare. Even the driving fouls are lower then they should be with certain guys.

So a guy like Embiid doesn't get to the line because he can't draw fouls when using him as a post up center. It's like the draw foul rating doesn't kick in. His is like 96 and still very few calls.

I agree [emoji817] I DON'T recall ever seeing fouls called in the post or on jump shots offline but online I see fouls in the post occasionally. Fouls have been a problem in 2K for years, I get 2K wants to keep gamers engaged online and not slow game flow down with constant foul calls but that's basketball. . . there's a setting/option for late game fouling that works wonders but sliders don't. . .

As long as and as much as the LACK of fouls have been discussed year over year there should've been some sort of setting(s) that seperates game mode fouls, the current slider settings do not result in many fouls even when maxed out. . .

Player foul tendencies are set extremely low, almost single digits, same for hard fouls in default rosters, raising these have yielded mixed reviews, I've maxed player foul tendencies but still NO foul calls at a high clip. . . you'd expect to see fouls called similar to late game fouls with sliders jacked an tendencies maxed but you don't [emoji848]

Looking at FTA is focusing solely on the results and not the process.

Tendencies do not change the AI. Maxing out foul tendencies is not going to generate fouls if the AI is programmed to search for open shots (i.e. minimal contact).

Figuring out how to increase actions that generate foul calls (more aggressive drives, reducing contested jumpers) is what you're looking to do.

2K was programmed when Illegal Defense rules were in effect. Every player is attached to their man here like the string on a yo-yo. The defender gets beat and there is no help. It's a clear-path dunk.

We routinely see this type of situation generate fouls IRL because the the defenders would rotate (or be in proper defensive position in the first place).

30 years ago these offensive players weren't all standing on the 3pt line, and that's part of what causes the problem. The C & PF would normally be in the vicinity of the paint, giving Mitchell Robinson a chance to contest. The Sixers are playing 5-out simply based on their personnel, while the Knicks are sacrificing any & all rim protection by playing right into it like it's 1992.

The lack of FTs is the result of a much larger defensive problem, one that 2K has made very little headway towards fixing over the last half-decade.

The game has passed them by. We saw players like Greg Monroe & Enes Kanter phase out of the NBA over the last 5 years despite their 1v1 prowess on both ends. There is so much help & switching going on nowadays and 2K has stone feet. They're powerless to do anything but watch.

Reduce the free throw attribute. I found a post that gave some tips and it’s improved the realism tremendously!! I’ll try and find it

Starting from scratch isn't the solution you think it is.

The box score from the game I clipped that video from had 15 & 22 FTs for the two teams.

My roster (same scales as 2K), Default sliders.

A lot of people jump through hoops for placebos
