Re: NBA 2K Game Play has regressed, how many others are going back to Older 2ks Games

I'm still having fun playing a fictional MyLeague in NBA2K19 on current gen. I also have NBA2K12 loaded up on my PS4.

Didn't really play but one or two games in NBA2K20, didn't buy NBA2K21 but did fork over $23 for a copy of NBA2K22 to see what might have changed but haven't played a game in it, just looked around.

NBA2K19 was the last year before they added the action point system to MyGM. I actually like NBA2K19 best for MyLeague/MyGM purposes.

Yes on a major retro gaming spell this year and last. I have every 2k from 10 to 22 on steam, and yet I am mostly playing 2k11 and 2k12. Still my favourite 2ks. 2K20 was enjoyable for me aswell and Thunder Shaq on NLSC forums has all the retro rosters from 1991 to 2019 for PC. While the grpahics, and presentation is quite good on 2k22, I love the older touches like pressbooks, highlights per player and some of the overlays. Just plays so much better than the newer 2ks.

I still have the NBA 2k14 Mod for the PC version with every roster and draft class since 1963. Whenever I want to play an older game that's my go to. The work those cats did on that mod is unparalleled!

I’m also feeling the retros just last night I created 5 different MyPlayer builds in 2K11 on my 360.

2K11 has a great 2021-22 mod for PC but it's got such awful installation info I can't figure out how to get it running properly yet. Too many add on files and fixes etc... If any of you have run it, I'd be interested in your help.

I haven't played any iteration of video game basketball since last year but when that itch strikes I imagine it'll be 2K20 or 2K21 (forgot which one it is). I made a big mistake with 2K22.

Not necessarily the case for everyone. That was me from 2K2 until 2K13 but since that point, I generally only buy if the game seems it'll hit what I'm looking for. The one exception came this year, when the Detroit Cade Cunningham hype convinced me that 2K22 would be a wise choice. It was not.

I think a lot of times it just feels like everyone always buys regardless because when people don't buy, they tend to quietly float away from the sub. I just bopped back in here for the first time in months on a whim and I found some of the conversations conducive to my overall feelings on the game of late, so here we are.

I’m having fun. Got drafted to the Knicks in the second round and demanded a trade. Hearing the fans chant “Trade him” every time I have the ball in MSG is special.

I am done with NBA 2K. Today I finally had enough. I checked GameStop to see how much I could get for 2K22 on XSX and it is $3.30 trade-in value. For PS5 it is $12.10, X1 and PS4 is $15.xx. I own it on XSX and to see the trade-in value get disrespected only on this console says a lot. It's a shame.

I decided to break the disc and the case, dumped it in the trash, and uninstalled it from my console. After months of giving it a chance, frustrations and anger, and lots of wasted time, I am finally mentally free and clear. I bought the 75th Anniversary Edition because I was so excited for NextGen only to be let down by server connection issues, an overall laggy and latency gaming experience (usual 2K experience), and a poorly designed game that is too dependent on badges. You need a badge to do anything in this game especially in MyCareer.

I will never buy another NBA 2K game. The game has truly regressed and there is too much cheese in my career online games due to badges and certain unstoppable build types. The dribble spamming, speed boosting, rim running, and ridiculous three point shooting is too much.

I have recently been a teammate and an opponent of guys greening threes before they get to half court. CONSISTENTLY. AT THE TOP OF THE OPPOSITE ARC.

I hate that I wasted so much time on this game but it is now over. Today I got my get out of 2K release papers. Goodbye everyone.

Woah man I wouldn’t go that far. Makes sense that it’s low on Xbox as the majority plays on PlayStation but still $3 is $3.

GameStop giving me $3 and reselling the disc for $15-$20 isn't worth the gas money for me to go to GameStop to give them a profit.

And maybe you wouldn't go so far as to break the disc, case, and trash it but I thought it was fitting since I basically threw away money purchasing the trash game and threw away countless hours playing it. It is where it belongs. If you like it, great. But I took out the trash today and 2K was apart of it. I have no regrets.

Yes I know. I actually bought the game from Ebay brand new back when it came out. I've never done a sell on Ebay and there were more sellers of the game who have high seller ratings. I took the loss but it's okay. This is the first time I have ever broken a game and case and the first time I haven't kept a NBA 2K basketball game. I still have old copies going back to the original 2K on Dreamcast (I still have my Dreamcast). I still have the Kobe cover 2K10 Anniversary Edition for X360 and 2K11 as well as newer 2Ks.

I never destroy games. Ever. Until now. That was a lot for me to do and it was satisfying. This was the most disappointed and frustrated I have been with a game. Ever since I got the game it was nothing but problems with console crashes, dashboarding, and console shutdowns. I had to send my console off for repair because 2K22 was the only game crashing it even after the Series X patch back in November that was supposed to correct the issue.

It was just time to put it down like a horse with a broken leg.

RP% is about to get the axe based off a poll i saw. first shot aiming and now this there will be no option for those with latency issues. It doesnt solve anything either shooting will still be OP.

Not me. I gave up on 2K and didn't buy 2K22. This was the first 2K I haven't bought since 2K16 I think. It'd take the game to feel fresh for me to be swayed back, but it has just become more of the same every year (offline player).
