The AI of the other nine players on the court makes the mode completely unplayable for me personally.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I remember in the PS3 days, between 2k11-13, they allowed you to use a custom roster in MyPlayer. That would be perfect if you can use a roster with more accurate tendencies that are more accurate and that can lead to better gameplay. It would be nice if they also brought another PS3 feature, which was Create a Legend mode. It would be cool to use an active player in an offline MyCareer setting. I would rather do that than the current format. It'd be cool to play as a young up and coming player or an young-ish player and work on fixing his flaws.

But, I don't see the AI issue getting fixed. The focus is more on Online and the money-making aspect of MyCareer. They haven't really went in and fix these legacy issues. Poor AI Team Management, tons of trades(that don't make sense), poor lineups(having 2 centers on the floor). If I'm signing in FA, I want to see a more accurate outlook of the roster. I want to see the drafted players, some early signings. Sometimes I like pairing up with one of the generated 2k rookies who seem OP and create a dynamic duo.

The best bet in 2k22 is sign with a terrible team, that way any teammates you have you can get them to play above their potential. I play a LOT of PG in career, it's really the only position I can stand otherwise I'm constantly calling for the ball to try and make plays hurting my teammates getting their touches. I play with Play Vision on so I can slow the game down and get into our sets. The problem is when I try and let my "superstar" teammates do their own thing. In Catch and Shoot situations KD and Kyrie are fantastic. KD is a better finisher if I get it to him in the post or let him run his own PNR actions. But Kyrie gets blocked ALL the time. Lol

Luka is pretty good, but he doesn't shoot as well as I would like.

If im NOT on the same team as these players they average damn near 30, with Luka almost averaging 40. But when I play WITH them it's a struggle to get them 20 a piece!

I usually never create a "superstar". I usually create a glue/high motor guy that gets points off of hustle/effort. So in a perfect world, it would be great if teammates perform at least normally. That way the superstars get all the glory and I'm the one who does all the dirty work. But, you can't do that in MyCareer. Even when I sign with a team after year 1, I'm going to a young up and coming team with a 'soon-to-be' very young star to form a dynamic duo. But, you can't rely on teammates unless you can force feed him.

I usually stick towards making a PF. I haven't created/stayed with a PG since 2k17. I haven't stuck with a wing player for whatever reason. I usually always go with a Center. But, I went away with that. Center feels like a too easy of a MyCareer position for me. It's a high floor/low ceiling position. You can come in and immediately average a double double. It's a low ceiling position. Plus, it's harder to be a great passing big in MyCareer when teammates can't reliably hit shots.

Will it make a difference in terms of fun and grinding just to make my MyC player 85 tops and full get all the badges?

Do you change any of the settings or sliders for your MyC?

Yea... i dont want to buy VC, it defeats the MyC IMO.

My biggest gripe in all MyC in the past is that you become demi-god and ur teammates are just support Even they are high caliber players I want to be the #3 or at least the #4 option guy when it comes to scoring.

Has MyCareer become the only playable mode in this game?

I recently picked up 2k22 on pc (it was $11) and instead of doing a my career, I did a player lock my league.

Simmed to 22 off-season and imported a generic draft class with my created “my player” in it. Got drafted to the thunder.

I then lock all settings to auto (so CPU is in charge of management) and go to position settings and lock on my guy.

It’s so much better this way in my opinion. I can develop by doing team training, choose a mentor, whatever signatures moves I want, etc.

Plus, I can play with the latest update of 2k specialist rosters which have the new draft picks.

Granted you miss out on some of the press conference stuff and what not but it beats grinding to 90 and spending VC to do it.

For years I've always tried to make my builds like LeBron or other superstar players but 2K is making it harder and harder with these archetypes and stat caps.

So instead I try to make builds after other players and I'm having a lot more fun with that.
