I also noticed some key updates like a brand new player model for 1990 Pistons Dennis Rodman, a brand new player model for 1986 Celtics Bill Walton that finally is not just 1970s Bill Waton in a Celtics jersey, and what seemed like a new 1996 Sonics Gary Payton with more accurate skintone. Also 1990 Pistons Rodman was wearing Reebok sneakers. All of these updates and changes are absolutely fantastic!

Noticed in the trailer that for the Passing the Torch Challenge vs Kobe, the Lakers are wearing black socks when they should be wearing white socks to be accurate to that game.

Man the attention to detail some of y'all have is unreal (I mean that as a compliment). I'm hoping there aren't any important players missing from classic teams and that player likeness is mostly on point. Meanwhile, some of you guys are talking about sock colors, accurate shoes, player accessories, and patches on jerseys.

2k should seriously hire some of you as art consultants. They bring in all these streamers to play the game and hype it up, why not talk to some OS community members about art improvements?

Does that mean Bulls Rodman gets a new face scan at least? His face looks like a wild animal in current 2K more than it does a human being. They had his face far better in the PS3 games.

I recently watched that 98 Bulls/Lakers game. There’s a high res hardwood classics of it. I didn’t know MJ had dislocated finger that season which announcers discussed explained his lower fg%. He just played through it.

Watching him and young Kobe is a true sight. MJ was sharp and refined as ever and you can see Kobe studying every move and wanting to prove himself. That’s the same game they’re seen talking at half court, where after the game MJ says Kobe asked him how he did a certain move and Mike clearly respected him enough to tell him.

Kobe scored over 30 that game but he got into early foul trouble so the majority of those points were in garbage time against the Bulls bench remnants. I have a feeling the challenge won’t show it like that though as they’ll feature a more head to head matchup.

Let's try not to be too harsh on 2k on some of the little things they missed. They absolutely knocked it out the part from the preview, so hopefully they can update the Brad Sellers number, the Laker socks, Short shorts etc before launch.

I just hope this helps add more throwbacks they missed haha.. bring us the Rookie AI jersey so we can do a AI v Jordan Challenge our end! haha.

Having Ray Clay announcing is just

I do also hope they put them in their respective throwback warmups home and away..come on 2k, lets do it!

Agreed. Some just have an eye for certain things. I can respect it.

I can tell you the first set the Spurs ran against the Knicks in the first quarter of the ‘99 Finals, but you could offer me a million dollars to name every accessory our starting lineup wore that game and I’d fail miserably, lol

I've been saying that for years. They did hire R4zor who was doing face mods on PC to work on legends faces starting in 2k20 I believe. Would also add that they should do what even 2k11 two system generations ago got right, which was the Red material on the Bulls jerseys before 1993 had a shiny look to the Bulls lettering and numbers on the jersey. Also Phil Jackson should have a different player model for the 96-98 Bulls than he does for the 90-92 Bull. It looks like he might just have one player model as the Bulls coach, where as his second three peat model should have a beard with more gray hair. I'm wondering speaking of coaches, if they have Doug Collins as the 89 Bulls coach or Bobby Knight as the 84 USA coach.

I've been trying to post the image of the jersey but it's not working. Here is the link

                      https://www.bstn.com/uk_en/p/mitchel...t91mjo-0158404

The numbers should have that same texture on the lettering and numbers and that shine to the material. If 2k11 had them then 2k23 on a next generation system could do an even better job of replicating that look.

I remember when Anthony Mason was in 2k. I’m guessing this in the PS3 days. In game, he had tattoos on each arm. I can’t remember Mase ever having tattoos when he played. Maybe small ones but nothing like you saw in the game.

My hunch is most if not all of the classic player updated models and accurate shoes will be for players featured in the Jordan challenge. Which is pretty good in itself cause it’s a lot of good players.

I also wonder if we’ll be able to use Phil Jackson as a coach in MyNBA. That would be a game changer.

Although their new “staff in team shirts” thing will look super off and goofy with Phil. I personally wish they kept the staff suits. It provides more variance than everyone wearing the same generic team gear and is more true to form for fans of classic ball. Jordan Challenge will surely have staff in suits, but I’m talking about regular modes.

The accessory part is a game changer ,it makes a huge difference, some of those tweaks are minor (for example the black socks )it’s been years since 2k has done that part wrong ..and I just don’t understand why they won’t fix it ..it’s just not accurate ..let’s hope it will be fixed before release.

My biggest thing is player signatures and tendencies these days.

Everything could look absolutely photorealistic, with 100% complete accuracy, but if the players aren't doing what they should be doing in relation to their real life counter parts, then it's a deal breaker.

Every year I put in months of work to rectify the absolutely HORRENDOUS classic team player tendencies just to get them even a fraction close to playing the way they should.

I've been saying this for a while now, but all it takes for 2K is to get this right just ONCE. These teams are all old, legacy squads that aren't currently playing - do your research, get the tendencies right for all of them, just ONCE and you'll never have to adjust them again. They can be carried over into the next iterations of the game.

Adequate signatures for players. Correct Dunk packages. Below the rim players being given the correct layup packages and no dunk options. Bigs given proper post tendencies. Legends given correct badges that reflect their actual playstyles. etc etc.

Just once, 2k. That's all it needs.

What’s even crazier is they don’t even give all players their own sigs. Pippen and Shaq amongst others aren’t equipped with their own dunk packages and I think Pippen doesn’t even have his one dribble sig equipped.
