One franchise feature I hope for year after year is carryover saves.

It sounds like official draft classes can be customized so one would presume there'll be people out there who really go all out and shape these classes to get pretty on-point. But yeah, there's definitely some intriguing questions there.
I have no doubt that there will be members of the 2K community working to make things as accurate as possible. Just a matter of time. Just wish they gave us a little more detail about the rosters. I think most OS members aren't realistically expecting for the majority of players and team rosters to be accounted for, but I would have liked to have a better idea of what to expect because it's fairly vague. I can imagine some people reading this and getting their hopes up about the team rosters. Hopefully more details will be provided throughout the day on Twitter.

Yes, the announcement specifically says you can start in 1983 and play a full 80 year save with historical draft classes filling in every year.

Really cool. I'm in the "Quick Play" mold when it comes to gaming, but I started playing MyNBA to play with current teams on retro courts created like the Mavs 80's Reunion Arena court or the Pistons late 80's Auburn Hills court. Love this option. As an aside, also love the fact the team logo is updated on the score board overlay. 80's/90"s Mavs logo is light years away better to current Mavs logo in my opinion . Awesome now that 2K is creating these courts and hopefully there will be a way to download these Era courts to existing rosters and bring the old school logo over too.

I really appreciate this mode, its updates for '23 and look forward to trying out NBA Eras.

It's tough to tell for certain but looking at some of those screenshots in the articles, I feel like I see a good number of generic Lakers in the background of the 80's Boston Garden screenshot and there's a menu screenshot that seems to be showing generic players for maybe an upcoming draft class scrolling across the bottom.

I'd venture it'll be a safe bet that there's going to be tons of generic players, and even a good deal after people begin customizing and sharing draft classes. And honestly, I think that's a fair trade, because I'm not sure it could work any other way at this point. But hopefully, again, this mode is something they're comfortable building up over years (and it sounds like it is, particularly with how much they've clearly poured into it already).

For now, I'm trying to brainstorm how to best simulate real life with this mode. Will players be able to edit original rosters when beginning in 1983? If so, would we theoretically play out the '83 season, wait for someone to drop a great custom draft class, then simulate the '84 draft while controlling all teams to make sure everyone selects the player they should?

This is a dream come true for all those players who have been clamoring for era specific rules and presentation. But like others have stated above, just how filled out are some of these classic teams? What if any new classic teams have been added in? I’m guessing news about that may be released later on.

Also someone please inform the devs at 2K to allow us to import custom rosters into the Playoffs.

And at this point, I am super ecstatic for all these news Features but let’s face it guys. Unless Quality Control isn’t absolutely perfect, I’m afraid there is a lot more stuff to be buggy/glitched/broken at launch than previous years. Here’s to hoping everything works at launch for 2K23

Someone pinch me. Am I dreaming? Is this universe catering completely to me?

Absolutely mind blowing. No sports game comes close now. Not even close. Leave it to the GOAT to ONCE AGAIN deliver us the best 2K game ever. MJ got the touch even 20 years after retirement.

I honestly almost don’t wanna get 2K23 cause it’s overwhelming with good stuff. Do I do eras? Jordan challenge? My usual custom all time MyNBA roster (which now would be in modern MyNBA mode but all time teams of mixed era players) which takes me months to build? All of them?

They even got his arm band right finally! The care and attention to detail is something I haven’t seen from them, at least so publicly, in a long time.

The ONLY thing that could spoil this game is if the defense is bad or gets patched to become bad. I personally find 2K22’s defense good and challenging with CPU defense sliders jacked all the way up and tendencies tweaked. If 2K23 gets defense right and keeps it right, it’s already by far the best 2K ever.

So now this is confirmed, the biggest issue (or one) is two players: Reggie and Chuck.

Will it be "Will Johnson from Auburn and Mike Williams from UCLA" type of deal or what?

Also, great that they have added the floors and all, but MY question is.. lets say I want to SKIP this and play regular degular MyNBA.. can I choose those floors?

Actually, skip MyNBA for a second, can you hit Play Now and play on the Suns 1993 America West Arena with the regular uniforms they have today? Can I choose to have players play in their uniforms in regular MyNBA instead? Or does this mean I can have a choice when we do play??

                        Man so many questions

                          Spoiler

My hope is that they at least added to the classic team roster pool and haven't lost any significant players. This is a good reason to add as many players as possible while also keeping the players that were already in the game. Every year it's like a game of who was added and who was removed. I'm not expecting any big names like Barkley, Reggie, or Rasheed Wallace but I'd like to be pleasantly surprised with the roster.

This is one of the biggest leaps in MyNBA in a long time. There's a little more info and a few clips and screenshots in this breakdown:
