I've seen 2 on current gen yet they were all in the first 2-3 days.

And one was this below in the first day.

Well I mean you can on PC via mods, it's just that mods aren't usable on Steam Deck, I don't think.

Yep. I have seen a couple of In game injuries and I'm playing on out of the box settings just to get a feel for the game. Matisse thybulle was one of the players. I've gotta say that this game is a solid improvement over 22 from a gameplay standpoint. Fastbreaks have returned and the player movement and animations have improved imo as well. The game has slowed down a little which makes for a less frantic game of hoops. I felt that wnba in 2k22 felt like a more sim experience than the NBA side and I feel that 23 has the feel of wnba with an injection of the athleticism of the NBA. I am enjoying myself early on. I am disappointed with the lack of changes from an artistic standpoint on PC. Blacktop stuck with lame court and stupid tshirts no one asked for. Coaches still wearing suits. Various players haven't been touched in years. Since PC is the same version as PS4 and X1 I know it's possible to fix these segments of the game because modders are doing it for free. They can do better on last gen.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

"input delay by design"

Theres still very bad morphing through the cpu players or them morphing through you.

I dont see much improvement tbh, its just another recycle job of old 2ks, which they ve been doing that for years imo.

Also this year, a lot of people are crashing for no reason, in the park, rec or wherever, Im playing on a really good system and cant play any online because I get booted out of rec and park games consistently with the same connection that has always worked for me in older parts.

Ive tried pretty much everthing to fix it, nothing has helped so far, but what does one expect from a company that puts out unfinished games on a regular, although its riddled with legacy issues from old 2ks again. I remember 2k22 had the taskbar icon of 2k21, at least this year they have no icon at all. 10/10 experience.... not
If it’s like cg that’s weird. Cg is p good and usually you can edit pc more. I’ve always felt pc ai is better.

Otoh 2k pc online is not a place u wanna go unless u wanna see people who are 9 ft w crazy arms.

Would be fun to link up h2h n play. If I had a pc version I’d play but I had to buy ps4 vs plus Vc ughh.

I am loving this game so far. The dribbling, passing and defense feel and look much better than 22.

The only issue I'm having is trying to find a good camera angle to play with. I want to see the whole floor when the ball changes position. I can do that now but the constant zooming in and out makes me dizzy.

Am I missing something or can we not sign rookies to contract extensions before they become UFA's? They're supposed to be eligible during the off-season before the last year of their deal but there's never an option. The contract extensions tab disappears and all I see is cap holds. Also, when you accept the 2 year team options for rookies the last year is still a team option, so it becomes a 1 + 1 deal for some reason.

I've had some fun with the game, but it devolves into 2K bully ball.

By default, defenders are programmed to play close to *all* players on the perimeter, even poor/mediocre shooters, and hilariously at times literal non shooting bigs.

The result is that there is usually not a lot of 3s being taken in a game, along with a severe lack of help defense at the rim -- which does not at all resemble real NBA basketball (especially playoffs).

Edit: Something that has bothered me for a few years now is that a lot of teams are still running 3 out freelance by default. Nearly all teams should be running 4 out at this point. Some teams can run 5 out with certain lineups.

Edit2: The on-ball defense warping is pretty obvious this year. There are too many times where the defender is clearly beaten and the angle is open, and they somehow magically slide back and recover to push and guide you to the sides. Maybe this is a band-aid for the lack of help defense, but these pushes would be fouls in real life.

I forgot how much i like playing 2k with mods. The Steam Deck has brought that reality back in to my life.

I play a current my league with mods on steam deck and a 1983 celtics era on ps5.

That’s what I think I’m going to do. I have 83 Lakers league going on PS5 and PC I would have my current Knicks/expansion league. I’m just waiting for PC sale on 23.

Bought PC version(with Steam deck in mind) because it's on sale on Steam. Off to a good start... I played a nba today game Knicks vs Grizzlies and was soooooo happy to see Toppin get hurt in game.

It's sad to hear this, as this 3 point attempt problem has been around since 2k18 at least for this very reason. I had to max out 3 point sliders in that game to make it near realistic, and it has gotten worse ever since, to the point where it's unplayable for a sim player as of last year.

I dunno, i didnt play last gen the last couple years so i cant speak to the 3point attempts prior. As for 2k23 its a problem but definitely fixable with the tendency sliders. I actually had it to a point that the cpu was taking too many 3s and i had to dial it back.
