Turning them down to 0 also makes shots go in easier. Though to me, this game is so tough to make shots so far (I hope they don’t patch that btw, sliders are a good workaround) that it is a great balance with sliders to balance it out.

Re: LITERALLY Every Made Shot Is a Swish
I imagine this is a very difficult balance to strike because post-patch, I'm now struggling to get any swishes at all. I mean, I do get swishes, but shooting feels a lot less visually rewarding now because it seems like a "great" release and an "okay" release are likely to yield the same type of make (one that rattles or hits the rim).
Pre-patch, I really enjoyed hitting that perfect spot (or near perfect) on release, knowing I was about to get that satisfying splash. It feels very few and far between now though and instinctively, swishes now feel less common than they should.
Again, I imagine it's a tough balance to strike, but a happy medium from pre-patch to post-patch would probably suit me. In fact, it'd be nice to have a slider so we could customize our own experience.Comment

Re: LITERALLY Every Made Shot Is a Swish
This totally ruin the immersion for me. It is unrealistic that made shots are only swishes.
I understand it though, they're calibrating the gameplay to make it more challenging for the online. But for offline sim players it doesn't make senseComment

Re: LITERALLY Every Made Shot Is a Swish
When I saw this in the patch notes I knew within the week this thread would be upped saying there now weren’t enough swishes, haha
That’s no shot at you VD, We all view things differently
but I would say I still see a decent balance
In addition to this, I like that the ball trajectory is no longer predictable as well..

That's the tough thing about calibration though. It's really easy to overcorrect.
I'll try to keep a tally the next time I play but it honestly feels like I'm getting around one or two swishes per quarter (10 min quarters) and that doesn't vibe with reality with me. In addition, I kind of liked that when I greened a jumper (or very close to it) I was quite likely to get a clean finish. Pre-patch, there was very much a feeling of, "Oh that's pure coming off the hand" and you were rewarded (though the issue, as noted in this thread, is that even unpure shots were arguably getting the swish treatment too often).
As it stands, it feels like even 90 percent of my great released free throw attempts are hitting iron first.

I never really participated in the Green Release debates over the years but I'm guessing this is what was often discussed. Like, what does a green release mean? An automatic make? A perfect automatic make? Do swishes only occur on the most perfect of perfect releases in real life?
I guess I pictured some sort of sliding scale making sense. Like, a "good" but less than "great" release still having a chance to go in but it'd rattle. "Great" releases would have a high swish tendency but also maybe be more likely to do that clean "back-rim-and-down" or "rim-graze-as-it's-already-going-down". And greens/perfects would generally be swishes.Comment

Understood. And I knew the moment I wrote that comment you'd be in here responding as you did, so all is fair.

I’m not sure what the logistics of it is tbh
In this case over half of Duncan Robinsons makes from his hot spot are swishes….this is on HOF
Maybe that’s a factor, Maybe rating, Who knows.
but my comment wasn’t to be snarky or anything, Really like you, Just noting how hard it is to configure these things for players….especially since we all play different modes/difficulty’s etc.
