Oh for sure but 2k should have address some of these legacy bugs we’ve been complaining about for years now.

Yes like online input lag and latency, server crashes and errors, events not working right, missing VC or no VC, and the console crashes and shutdowns that have been happening over the past few years at release.


IGN rated 2K23 a 6 based on microtransactions and they finally mentioned the online lag and latency issues online in their video near the end. I'm sure they have the best Internet, monitors, and TVs before one of those guys with recommendations chimes in. Thanks anyway.

Huh... almost like NBA 2K23 isn't this perfect godchild that can do no wrong. The Show didn't have constant crashes. Neither did Madden. Weird. Almost like 2K is every bit as bad as EA, but fans refuse to admit it or something.

I own both. I play both. Madden has improved over the last two years. 2K has stayed the same. Putting in custom rosters with filters doesn't change the broken stuff under the hood (shots being heavily weighed towards the Pro-Am stuff, fast breaks being not existent, the same coaches that are 2K staff members every year, heavy slider usage needed to make the game function at a basic level, AI still has infinite stamina, simulation stats are still borked as hell, etc).

I own both. I play both. Madden has improved over the last two years. 2K has stayed the same. Putting in custom rosters with filters doesn't change the broken stuff under the hood (shots being heavily weighed towards the Pro-Am stuff, fast breaks being not existent, the same coaches that are 2K staff members every year, heavy slider usage needed to make the game function at a basic level, AI still has infinite stamina, simulation stats are still borked as hell, etc).

If I gave you the impression that 2k is perfect and has nothing wrong with it, I apologize, my point is that they, in the the grand scheme of it all, hold a superior game in terms of quality over Madden. Garbage is where I personally put them on the spectrum. If I hurt your feelings, I apologize 🤷*♂️. I just wanted to give you some insight on what the majority feels.

On a side note, that’s great you own both games, but again, the overall consensus seems to be 2k over Madden. So I’m not sure how owning both helps your opinion over others who feel the opposite of your outlook when they also own both games. Keep your mind open and do you brother. [emoji106]

Yeah seriously. Our Madden franchise had to be restarted several times this cycle because someone quit our league which made the team unfillable all year long (a glitch that's been in since last year).

Don't forget or neglect to mention that Madden had a beta where many of these issues were reported.

They pretty much had a several week headstart on this patch.

This thread is so pointless. 2K23 is awesome. Madden is better this year, but still needs work. We all know this.

Why does everything have to be compared? Especially when its Apples to oranges. Both games have their flaws, and both games have their strengths. Just enjoy sports gaming people.

Madden patches tend to be bigger because they wait longer to update stuff. 2K has had 3 updates already in 6 days since release.

Let's compare:

Are both games fun? Yes

Do both games have bugs? Yes

Do both have legacy bugs? Yes

Do both games have room for growth? Yes

Have both games improved progression? Yes

Is progression perfect? No but above both have improved.

Is it ok for someone to think one is better than the other? Of course it is. It is personal opinion.

I have my opinion on which one is better. I think 2k has a deeper franchise mode. Madden has a fun franchise mode too though.

But I will say that Madden offline franchise has a corrupted file glitch around year 5 and I have never experienced crashing with 2k in any iteration. I had to go back to Madden 21 for a stable long term franchise.

People are going to like what they like. This thread seems silly...

And the issue I have is that you have the blind "EA Sucks" banner going, while completely ignoring that 2K has just as many issues. EA isn't great, but acting like 2K is doing good is laughable. The game has been out for a couple days and you already have a list of bugs and crashes a mile long.

Madden has also improved since 2019, but feel free to ignore that because "EA Sucks LOL". Passing changes this year have completely changed how offense is played, running the ball is more skill based, and the defense has taken a huge step forward. It's definitely not perfect, but it plays really well, but again I'm talking to a brick wall on that count.


And "so far ahead of everyone else"? REALLY? 2K basketball is the most shallow it has been since the PS3. They need another company to put out a sports title to compete with them, but since sports games are extremely niche...

How is it brand new when I've had it twice before? Just like I've had the same Super Bowl celebrations the same 4 years in a row. And the same crowd, coach, player interactions pre/midgame that I've had for 4 years in a row?

And please let me know when Madden catches up to 2K in any remote area. Again, I have both, play both, have leagues in both. I'm dumbfounded at how limiting Madden is. Can I edit sliders.. sure. About 1/3 of what I can in 2K. Can I edit attributes, sure about a 1/4 of what I can in 2K. Can I edit my franchise... yeah.... but about a 1/4 of the ability I have in 2K.

Career mode depth and activities... nowhere near.

Modes? 2K by a landslide.

But it's fine for a EA defender to suggest they're the same, but they're not even close. MUT = Lootbox pay to play microtransaction money grabs even if you don't want to admit it to go on top of it.
