What is 2k thinking with these uniforms? I thought the last season was bad with the white/blue vs black/blue unis, but this takes the cake

I really don't understand how a billion dollar or whatever company has nobody within their company that spoke up and said "hmmm, this might not be the best idea". Talk about incompetent. 2+2=4 type stuff. That, or they just love intentionally trolling their customers. Can't say I'm surprised.

They fixed the Rec jerseys, no more orange-red vs red-orange lol

                Re: 2k23 The Rec

At this point the REC is just a farm for Pro-Am teams.

Out of 10 games im lucky if 2 are against other randoms.

What makes it worse is how toxic these guys are with mocking people and more types of ****.

I do love the hate msgs when i mock them back when i still score with with 4 guys on me or i make them miss lol.

Yeah i still lost but thats expected with 4 AI after everyone quit lmao

                  Re: 2k23 The Rec

Just got PS5 a week ago. Have a 91 SF and a 95 PG, both 6'9 and can shoot and defend.

Got all my defensive badges on both characters, still working on the rest. But I'm shooting 43 percent from deep in Rec and am only a few games down from .500

I pass, rebound, and can space the floor.

                  Hmu.

                    Re: 2k23 The Rec

yea I'll run w/ you ps5 kids. I'm not around THAT MUCH and sometimes I prefer to just run v cpu (still speccing, got almost all badges, but not cores and not max rating.) If you saw my build you'd be like ye not playing w/ HIM haha, but it works for real. The only thing is as a 7'3 it's tough for me to defend pnr and people drive by me as shooters. I don't mind people getting a few drives, tho, and once I learn how they move, they usually don't get more, but... those are my only weaknesses on defense. I kill rebs even tho I'm at 85 oreb, 80 dreb. My dreb is locked at 80, oreb is 93 for gold chaser. Got gold box. I'm a play maker, so I gotta max post play, core it, and then max dimer haha. But trust me once it happens, it's just nuts. Or it was on ps4. Cuz unless people are straight bumming with really strange shots, I can get a ton of offensive rebounds.

My only gripe re: playing with people is it's gonna take a second to hit our potential. I'd prefer to just go straight into pro am if we got a 5. I don't mind skill level, I'm willing to work with anyone who isn't gonna blame me for losses or not listen. I'll listen, too, if you got something you want me to do, of course. I built my whole stuff to boost my team, so it's like heh when people get mad at me.

Still, you have to commit to like 10-20 games. If it's still not working then, arite. I ran with that dude ViolenceFight before (dono what happened?) and he was cool, but he had this friend who ended up running with us, and I ended up running with him and his friend later and dudes were wack and toxic, blaming me. They didn't outright blame me, but I knew they were haha. The whole point of getting together, to me, is to form a squad and have fun like Live 09 days back when I knew a bunch of people.

Def been hit or miss with OS people, and I can def say how they perceive their game is not how it turns out in practice in a lot of cases, but that's cool. As long as you are in it to win, ready to adapt, and want to have fun above all. Because win or loss rec is just toooo toxic. It's so toxic I don't even wanna play half the time, cuz at tip off, there's always some people who aren't ready, some people who quit midway thru the 1st, etc. Most of the people have decent skill sets, but they just aren't patient enough to work them together.

A friend of mine from way back when we ran squads in Live and were killing people with USSR national team (loool) used to tongue in cheek call me 'coach' cuz I would always be like try this. Some people take huge offense to that. I don't mean it badly. Otoh, this one guy said to me... "U SHOULD TRY BOXING OUT" and it's like... are you #(*#$* kidding me?! haha.

But there are things like... missing steals when we force long passes is acceptable, but not even knowing that they are possible steals will make me be like - cuts on mic - "You should be stealing those!" So yea... I dunno. I just wanna ball and have fun. I want it to seem like real ball, and it's hard even with 5 when the other team is selling or quitting (worst feeling when the whole other team quits out; you'd think it would be happy.)

I am always best as a center, but I will make another build at some point, not sure what. I have a friend who I play with most of the time who is a PG. Otherwise, it's all open.

Trust me, if you don't give up, we can end up doing a lot of stuff. But if you start blaming me or whatever, I can't promise I won't say something back. I'll try reaaaally hard to let it go, but it depends on how persistent you are. That is my biggest pet peeve, when I'm out there trying to cater my game exactly to what people want/need and boost them w/ my badges so they can shine.

                    Edit: yikes at post length!

My only frustrations come when I'm not involved. My first build was a PG at 6'9. I did 70 passing not realizing the Lebron Passing Style was locked at 75. There's a noticeable gap between normal passing at a 70 and the 75 with Lebron. The ball just leaves your hands much faster. So I can't really pass in the half court. He's a beast on D. He gets 80 everything on D but I still have some attributes to unlock cuz he's only a 95.

Anyways... I was running the point with my buddies and how I run point is I pass early and often. If I can get the ball up before the defense is set, I don't care if I get the assist, I just think that's the best time to score. If I pass it to you in the half court, I'm not looking for screens or back doors, I'm trying to swing the ball on the perimeter to let the person drive or shoot. So I'm really conscious about NOT getting turnovers instead of having a high assist total. That's the exact opposite of what they want as a point.

Plus when I pass it up, my man runs and doubles the ball and I'm open but never see it back.

My SF doesn't have as good of defense but he's a better shooter and finisher. With the 75 passing I can swing the ball and throw full court passes better than my PG.

I'd like to keep working on my guard even if I'm not the main ball handler, but I'm guarding the 1 I'm ok with that. Even on my SF I don't feel like anyone is just bodying me up and punishing me when I'm at the 4 even, so my PG should be able to be even better in a team setting.

It's almost more frustrating on my SF tho cuz now I'm ALWAYS off the ball and people still miss me.

Got into it with my 2 friends I run with most last night. I asked them how I'm shooting better than both of them as far as percentages, but always have less attempts. I have a higher percentage in part because I shoot less, but if I'm getting all the boards, playing all the D, most of the time the shot goes up before I get down court. Plus, if they held the ball a second longer, I'm wide every time.

I get frustrated when I play a rec game, miss a couple shots early and only start getting the ball again when we're down 20.

A lot of times I'm on cold the whole game so I keep bricking. But quite often they cut me out and I Green in the 4th quarter. So it's like " why didn't Yall pass in the 3 other quarters"?

ahahah. w/ Randos? I still remember the Ws I put on people I know w/ Randoms. Sweetest wins. Either way, crazy. It does suck how 2k has a lot of 40 point wins and losses. It can swing so fast. Almost never see a 20 point down, 20 point up swing though. Maybe 15-15.

Double post, yeah, gotta be super careful about missing shots early. I only enjoy PG to be able to press the other PG. I am a 'get it up' PG as well. As long as it's not going to the other team, hard to imagine why people would care.

I had a game last night w/ this 99, and he was talking all game. He had some skill, but he also made some REALLY bad decisions, ran out of bounds a couple times, and threw up some really awful bricks. A ton of people on the game have attitude problems. I turned my control speaker back on, and of course I get into an argument lool. But, long story short is that we had an awful PG, and I think his bro was a SF... and also awful. Then the three of us were fine. But dude was on some GIMME THE BALL EVERY TIME. I was just telling him he needed to chill on the calling himself the best player (I guess he meant 99?) and learn to discern who is good and who is bad. I mean, you should be able to do that just by watching the first couple of plays. Missing shots means NOTHING to me.

I do have to add to my list of defensive problems. I only have 80 block. Got gold chase but only bronze anchor. Once I get max and boosted, I'll be a little better, but if I'm guarding a shooter, I get dunked on over and over trying to come in for the late help. My dude is def not a defensive beast att wise, and other 7'3 guys who have higher rebs and boosts probably do get 'suck rebounds' over me. I can get enough, but it can be hard sometimes.

It's hard re: feeling left out or whatever. It depends on how the game goes, but there's a reason I main big, at least I can always do something. That + people not really understanding what a big's job is... def can't promise anything about touches. If you're the PG, then yea you get the touches obviously, and I would find you, but I dunno how much. I want the ball to be moving, basically, moving and NOT going to the other team, and I don't wanna see awful spacing. People suck at any spacing that isn't an 'out' set. They don't know how to use back screens and such.

The only time I want a touch is if like someone posters me and then flops or something haha. And it's not promised I'll shoot it, I just want him to think I'm gonna go back at him. I've brutally punished people for trying to clown me in all games except ones like the one 24 posted. Sometimes you're just down 40 and it's like welllll, I can get a bunch of rebs, steals, blocks, whatever... but it doesn't really matter cuz we're getting blown out. Just gotta accept the taunting at that point.

Altho re: tru, to be fair... I would flop in a game that bad not to rub it in as much as A. wow dude did some crazy stuff or B. I can't believe your teammate did something so awful.

I'll flop when people show out and air ball a 3, too, even if they are up 30. I didn't used to flop, guess I finally caught the bug. Def do the fist pump, tho. Flop is for extra trash plays usually. I try to get the stomach flop out of bounds. Had this one play, legit we were coming back to win, like a minute left. On the break... 3-1, I'm running to the rim, dude's friend is in the corner (WITH A GUY ON HIM) and he throws it to his friend, stolen, we lose. That's what makes me angry.

But yea, if I ever ran with you and you didn't get enough touches, I'd say, "Nothing personal..." cuz it's not. I can look for people in games when I'm clowning, but when we're playing 100% real I make what I feel is the best pass (but sometimes it x's to the wrong person or I get icons mixed up, urrgh,) and sometimes that is a safe pass to someone who can more easily get it to the open shooter.

In general, doubt you'd have a problem, and I'd feel bad if you did. But if you were like SMAK... I NEED THE BALL MORE. I'd be like SORRY, I dunno what to say?? I am an intuitive player and I like to move the defense. If you're just standing there wide, tho, you should def get the ball, but... you already know that randoms sometimes won't. Like I've said a million times, I feel like if dudes have the ball for more than 5 seconds and haven't done anything with it, they are trash. Especially if the pass they make at the end is just a 'get rid of the ball' pass. If they make a play it's diff. But if they are getting rid of it, they need to do it faster so someone else can make a play.

20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks in the first half.

We're still down so I put my mic on and started listening to these kids. My man is 3/9 from deep but started the game 1/7. He hit his last 2 before the half cuz they knew I wasn't guarding him so the first thing I hear is "BRO GUARD YOUR MAN". I laughed immediately. Dude was shooting .18 percent before this game. I had to see it.

I said "Ok". He finished 4/15 from deep and I kept leaving him open. I stopped guarding the paint cuz I was the 4, but I refused to give any weak side help. Center finished with 1 rebound, his match up had 21.

I didn't get a single basket in the second half.

I came in the mic to be motivational. Tell the team to let my man shoot cuz they kept rotating and I kept having to guard their man at the rim.

They were calling me trash as the game ended cuz I didn't shoot another shot.

Rare rec game. Finished with 9 people! Not really a good game, no gawds or w/e. I guess it didn't pick up my voice on the mic, but I just said, "Do you, whatever, just please don't quit and please don't sell." I also said that anchor could have the paint. Dudes left out on us!! Amazing. But yeah, if only every rec game was at least that quality, I wouldn't be mad. SO SICK of playing with bots or vs bots or dudes hard selling. Too bad we lost one, but 9/10 ain't bad.

Edit: also, no lie, in the past 15+ games, I don't think we've finished with 9 players other than this one, and no it doesn't matter if we're winning or losing, it's disgraceful to have to play so many bots when you are trying to compete.
