    Re: 2k23 The Rec

Well, boys, I went under .300 last night. I think it separates stuff by season? Last I remember I was .500~... and it's like you get some games where there is NO CHANCE to win and other games where you MIGHT be able to win, but it's really hard. I have been losing the really hard games, and that = .300.

Been on an epic down turn. Did get a true 5v5 last night but it was BUMMY. Bummy for us. Had dudes standing on the other side at 3 point line and we still couldn't score 4 on 5. We didn't lose by that much, but we did lose.

Rare rec game. Finished with 9 people! Not really a good game, no gawds or w/e. I guess it didn't pick up my voice on the mic, but I just said, "Do you, whatever, just please don't quit and please don't sell." I also said that anchor could have the paint. Dudes left out on us!! Amazing. But yeah, if only every rec game was at least that quality, I wouldn't be mad. SO SICK of playing with bots or vs bots or dudes hard selling. Too bad we lost one, but 9/10 ain't bad.

Edit: also, no lie, in the past 15+ games, I don't think we've finished with 9 players other than this one, and no it doesn't matter if we're winning or losing, it's disgraceful to have to play so many bots when you are trying to compete.

something is weird... I tried to add you, too, awhile ago, but I couldn't even find that name.

I think I put my settings on most private when configging because I was very disappointed in humanity. Haha. I guess I haven't changed, but yeah I'll try the next setting up. Try to add me again, because I could not find you.

I don't care if you're good or not, per se, as long as you want to have fun. Losing or getting blown out is always frustrating. I don't blame other people, but if I feel I can say 'try this,' I will, but it mostly comes into effect with me being like "I'm dun." haha. It's been a meme for me in a lot of games with everyone. I am not gonna quit out; I might sleep walk through a second half or just start trying to do dumb stuff (like face up, my big has handles, dudes have only stolen from me ONCE I think,) depending on how toxic it is, but don't take it personal when I'm like yea I'm done. It could be after one game, even. I'll be back and ready to try again. It's just 2k is very frustrating some times.

Just sent PG a screen shot.

We won, but dude took EIGHTEEN threes. He shot less than 30 percent. I had 16 rebounds on my POINT GUARD. Had 5 assists and finished with 17 points and went 2/4 from 3.

          He said "wat".

dude I've played so much bball online. Coming up on 20 yrs I think. Things dun changed. Back when, we had private rooms and would remake the game when someone was screwing it up. Best times, not everyone was amazing, but there were crews of amazing people and the 'replacement players' could play their role well enough beat even the amazing crews if your core group played well. It was fun, it was competitive... the idea of selling was almost completely nonexistent. One thing people would do way back in Live I think is if you did a tip in at the buzzer of a quarter of a game, it would freeze. Some people did that, and then they were kindly never invited back again.

I low key like the myplayer idea, but it's too bad afaik we can't play private myplayer games. Not that I have enough people to fill it, but I mean, I might dedicate time to finding a group of people. I don't even wanna dedicate time to finding pro-am teammates cuz I can't imagine pro am not being toxic as well. I'm sure there are ways people can glitch it out.

Imagine always finishing with 10 people (or re-making the game.) Yeah, sometimes you got blown out, people came in talking mad ish sometimes, people even talked mad ish before the game (which was always great, for me personally, I love that.) But we all had fun... it's just not like anymore.

It's also funny they gave Shep colored hair and a bad personality (lol I chose the SHEP IS A TRASH HUMAN on my new dude,) and the similarity of his name to SHEEP and the fact that 2k is full of clones w/ colored hair selling games... I think that's lost on a lot of people.

But yea, I don't interact w/ bums haha. If someone PMs me, I usually will say 'haha.' Well, THANKS TO YOU (!!) I got my stuff all open now, so we'll see what happens haha. Just joking @ thanks to you, but yeah, I didn't know that privacy setting was that restrictive tbh.

                  Re: 2k23 The Rec

First 2 possessions you can tell how the Rec game is gonna go. If PG brings the ball up and doesn't pass and bricks his first shot then 90% of the time he comes down and bricks another. At this point someone has already quit on my team. Then he tries passing it to someone else and they brick. Now we're down a few possessions so NO ONE passes. Meanwhile I've been running wide on the inbound or in transition. Finally, down 15-5 they finally give me my first wide open 3 and I Green. They take a couple more stupid shots then all quit.

I'm left by myself getting double and triple teamed.

                  Awesome.

Go into the locker room and get a full squad of gold's and purples. I'm like "cool I'll just play D".

My man went 0-6 but I missed a 3 early so I finished 2/3 and never saw the ball past the 2nd.

They're on the mic at the end calling me names cuz I was flopping in the 4th and my man still couldn't score. Ended up being a close game but I stopped being an *** the last 2 minutes so we could win.

These dudes were all laughing calling me trash when each of them gave up double digit points but my man got a goose egg. All of them missed more shots than I TOOK but I got 2 turnovers and no assists because I touched the ball 5 times literally. 2 times I passed were turnovers and I went 2/3 on my shots.

Played 4-5 games today. Won most of them. Shot a better percentage than all of my teammates. Played better D on my man. But I keep getting called trash cuz I'm not passing enough or I don't take leaning 3s and flub meter dunks.

So sorry for wanting to play a team game in a 5v5 team based mode.

Spent 3 days on Ghost of Tsushima and it was fantastic. Half a day if 2k and my anxiety through the roof.

I wanna play w u so I can see. I can give you some closure on that. Haha. I mean you prol aren’t trash and know it, but to hear it isn’t so bad. I got a good team. Well 4/5. We ran 3 gms, 2-1 cuz we sold one. You can see the mics flickering. In the end tho we were practically ready to be friends. Dude was begging for me to outlet to him, I do throw long outlets sometimes and I did, but in this gm makes more sense to start from half court w pass steals. But yea we overcame adversity and nobody got added. Dudes weren’t good but they did their thing. Shined etc. we played as a team and I got it on tape.

One of the big problems is ppl don’t let each other get rhythm. Like my boy bricked a 3 in this one game and dudes were like see… and he’s like hold on, I haven’t got the ball in so long, I think I forgot how to shoot. Haha. Kept looking for em and bang. It’s not that hard really, theoretically, but given the gaming culture it really is.

                          Re: 2k23 The Rec

Just had a LVL 40 player bring a 60 out to the Rec and he was the 4 at 6'6 I'm 6'9. Typically I pass the ball to the PG off the tip if we win, but I drove the ball and scored on our first possession. PG and SG both go 1/7 before they quit and the SF and C had 0 assists going into the 2nd and I'm 2/2 off a outback.

In what kind of world do I live in where I paid 1,000 to witness this kind of idiocy. Why would I put myself through this day in and day out?

My matchup was 2/8 when I quit and they're on the mic telling me to guard him.

Bro I'm not guarding a 60. I got more rebounds than their whole team. I got more assists than my whole team COMBINED with 3 and they still refuse to pass.

I torture myself by not quitting cuz it’s so salty when people quit, but yea there are games within the first few min you know it’s over. Like forty points. Lol this one guy was like just give me da ball every time and I promise we won’t lose and it’s like man I promise we will and I’m not playing chezball; I’m gonna sleep walk thru it and move on. Take that 40 pt L with some dignity. There’s almost no avoiding it if you roll the wrong randoms or get a streaky team. How many ppl are playing at once, can’t they match the streak teams v each other haha.

I try to avoid our teams self destruction at least but even that is hard.

I need to make a how to play pf vid haha esp on defense. People think pf is shooter three or center two but its got its own role. I like pf pressing the ball double as they try to pick then going out to a corner if the roller overloads one side. The whole top three like is pf help area. Just harass mid area and run people off 3, know u got emergency help behind u w c or guards, but get rebs, chase ppl inside w bump but one they start ani go out for 3s. Also leak out if c boardin.

I wonder what next season has to offer. I wonder if they adjust anything. When facing crazy bigs or multiple cpu, you can get contested, but they really did make masher op again. The size of green bars is dumb when you get people to jump or get in a certain spot.

Mainly, it’s still behavior. Most people go into it w 2 or 3 and they fight for control. Dudes can all do something, but they are unable to shore up simple concepts like when to help at rim while protecting corners, getting back on d (kids get 3d from corners off inbound. It’s like sigh.)

Last gm the player of the half was some kid who straight looked like the kid from 2 1/2 men. People were calling time out on my shots and stuff but they ended up quitting cuz I got on the mic like look y’all getting torched by this 12 y o. Haha

Ughh. I dunno if people just tried to play bball and learn tho. So boring even if you’re on the side that’s not selling.
