    2k23 The Rec

The community in the Rec is so toxic. Every once in awhile you’ll get some good random teammates but more often than not you’ll run into some just awful awful awful players with no semblance of an idea on how to play team ball, help on defense, etc.

2k has to change the amount of time that someone can stand idle, it’s more than half a quarter a guy can just stand still and not get booted. That’s crazy talk.

THEN on top of that there’s guys that’ll intentionally put their controller down and get the team “offensive player out of bounds” penalties for an entire quarter straight. Maybe instead of calling those turnovers, if a dude gets that twice he should be booted? Just an idea.

I generally like the mode and I don’t always have my full squad on, but more often than not when me and one or two others will hop in a Rec game, we’ll get some mind blowingly bad teammates.

What we need is a vote to kick feature. But the issue with the 2k community is they can’t implement a vote to kick feature because dudes are so unbelievably lame and toxic, all anyone would do is go in Rec with like 2-3 ppl and vote to kick other ppl after they don’t pass them the ball once or something. Rainbow Six Siege is very close to how toxic and unplayable 2k would be if they had a user Initiated vote to kick feature. At this point i haven’t played Siege in years because you are either getting vote to kicked because you didn’t choose the right “build” or you are getting team killed before anyone could even see you play. That same crap would happen in 2k.

I also am vehemently against a vote to kick feature because Iv started games 0-5, getting out rebounded by 8 in the 1st quarter and have finished 15-20 and out rebounding my man by nearly 5 rebounds. So a vote to kick would encourage teammates to not allow you to work through problems.

I always say 2k doesn’t so 1/2 the crap they want to because they community is too toxic and that’s our fault. Other games aren’t as toxic as 2k. I jump on Ghost of Tsushima and it’s not this toxic. I jump on Madden squads and it isn’t this toxic. 2k has to take some responsibility though because they’ve catered their game to toxic ppl. The pay to win aspects attracts the competitive crowd. The YouTube popularity attracts the lame boys who aren’t poppin in real life so all they do is make YouTube videos of bulls*** in the game to try and break it and become famous. You ever notice none of the top YouTubers stream against straight COMP? It’s because they don’t even wanna play this game against comp because it’s too toxic and too hard. And 2k caters to these lames. If these lames cry and say shooting is too hard they tweak shooting. If they say glove is too powerful they nerf glove. It’s like these toxic losers control 2k and no other game allows itself to be controlled by such a small % of its players.

Myself, i got to level 40 in season one and i don’t think I’m doing it again. One it took so much of my time and i just don’t wanna ignore my family like i kinda had to to get to lvl 40. Two, the game never changes so it’s not like I’m opening up new and exciting features by leveling up. If I’m at game 500 right now, by game 2000 I’m still gonna be in the same rec with the same moves. It’s boring. Three, Iv gotten exhausted with playing with other ppl. I love y’all but I’d rather just run Rec mic out with music or YouTube playing in the background. Ppl are just too toxic.

      Rant over/

        Re: 2k23 The Rec

Getting a D or lower rating should be an auto kick.

        You start with a C.

        A turnover gets you a C-.
Another consecutive turnover gets you a D+.

To get a D you need another turnover along with more stupid decisions like bad shots, no defensive or that out of bound crap.
        Or violations….

If you manage to get a D you have no business being in the game…..

You shouldn't even be allowed to join a park or a rec game if your characters not a 75 overall. Do these children a favor. I still never will understand how someone buys the game, and the first thing they do is go to the park and wonder why no one will play with them.

Even if I'm level 40 and I got on the spot as a 60 no one would play with me.

Rip to the Midrange game. Got my standing shot down. Have all my badges now. The spin jumper is OK, I can time that pretty good. But even in my gym it's not like I green every single shot. Keep thinking it's my timing. Tried 3 different leaning shots. This is supposed to be the easier shot. Specifically, there is no shot off the glass either. Used to be I could lean and hold up on the stick for a bank shot. Now, with it only being green makes, once again, anything not green is a brick.

When you hit a couple threes they start playing up on you. Typically I have a nonshooting player with me who likes to sit in the paint, there goes my driving lanes.

What upsets me more than anything is I can hit the turn around. But my learners are brick city. Even changed my load out to feature Middie Magician and Blinders with shot creator takeover.

What's the dead giveaway is I dont see anyone else playing a shot creator type build.

Typically every year I'll see someone try and copy my moves. What's key about the Midrange is there's so much space. So when they press me, I should be able to just pull up if they think I'm going in.

I know it's something with the game because I can shoot threes in career pull ups in career, but I have a hard time in any mode with the learners.

Like I said, it's not the timing anymore. I'm even rocking Amped now too.

I have no idea why every big isn’t using these moves. I commented on your video.

Then moves are too easy to do and no one ever contests them. And even then do start contesting you’ve got easy up and unders

And it ain’t like you’ve gotta have 99 mid range either. Mine is only 84. I’m so good at those moves i literally don’t really have to pass if i don’t want to.

Double rep in the park for defenders and I've been running with ransoms all day. Decided to take a break and I hop on YouTube and 2klab put out a new video on dribble pull ups...

So now I gotta go practice and test with more randoms lol...

Lol... normal 2 pull up immediately greens 3 in a row on 1v1.

I really wish this game wasn't so animation dependent. Ratings and badges be damned, it's all about the animations

Timing is definitely different for 3v3 but went like 3/5 on my dribble pull ups without Middie Magician. I just waited till my shot creator takeover was full. Got half contested on one, I may say to hell with catch and shoot and just play the shot creator role more often.

                        Loooooool NVM.

Got a 60 in the 1v1 who was 2 feet tall. I let him get his first few layups before I completely shut him down. Got 4 blocks on his little ***... Lolol

Anyway only took pull ups the whole game. Now, I only had volume Shooter Gold equipped, maybe it's a bit better with HOF but with Gold Amped, Middie, Blinders and my shot creator takeover STILL went 10/24.

                        Sooooo... Not great.

Made too many threads recently. Lol so I guess I'll tuck this here.

Firstly... Why is the 3 out offensive set still even a thing? It's so dumb having 2 bigs trying to post every possession. Secondly... The Mavs are the ones who PIONEERED the 4-1 set but at least the last 2 years that's been default when coach doesn't call a play.

Second... COACH NEVER CALLS ANY PLAYS in my career. Ive unlocked play calling on both my characters and maybe it's a Jason Kidd thing? That would make more sense... Let Luka just play free. But when I put FIFTEEN extremely simple and effective PNR plays they don't call them. If 3 out is our freelance I could deal with it if they called the plays I selected sometimes at least.

But last year in 22 I had the Nets offense humming tremendously as a PG and all I did was run my system.
