Gave the JORDAN Era a shot, and blitzed/simmed thru the first year 90-91 season.

    JORDAN wins MVP.
Leads the league in scoring with 29.4ppg. Leads the Bulls to a League-best 62-20

ROOKIE of the YEAR: Larry Johndon
    SIXTH MAN: Detlef Schrempf

CHICAGO -- It's the 1991 NBA Playoffs in 2K23 Jordan Era, and the Bulls face their erstwhile rivals the Bad Boys Detroit Pistons once again, this time in the first round.

    Play of the game: 15:33

THe Bulls got off to a quick start, forcing tunrovers and going into transition. Jordan was having a good all around game, with 8 pts, 4 assts as he was met with early double teams. THey lead by 8 at the end of the first period.

In the second period, the Bulls led by as much as 12 early on. DUmars and Isiah Thomas started hitting their mid range shots, while the Bulls started turning the ball over. Lead is cut to 4 going into the half 44-40.

The Bulls start the 3rd period with a furious 17-8 run, led by Jordan who would score 16 pts in the period. THe Bulls defense would not relent, forcing the PIstons to 33% shooting, outscoring them 25-12 to go up by 17 heading into the 4th quarter.

THe Pistons would make a final push in the 4th quarter, cutting the lead from a high of 21 to single digits 9 with still 4 mins to go. But Jordan would halt all that momentum with a monstrous double handed jam over 2 Detroit players to bring it back up to 11. He would outscore the entire Detroit team in the last 4 mins to help CHicago hold on to the lead and win the game 88-73 to take Game 1 of their First Round matchup.

Bulls go up 1-0 with an 88-73 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Michael Jordan had a spectacular all-around game, finishing with a triple-double. 39 pts 10 rebs 11 assts 3 stls. Pippen added 23 pts and 8 rebs. Paxson had 13.

Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars led 4 playes in double figures for Detroit with 15 pts apiece. ROdman had a double-double with 10 pts 15 rebs.

CHICAGO -- Michael Jordan looks to sweep his erstwhile rivals the Detroit Pistons in Detroit.

From the get go, Isiah Thomas was aggressive, but the rest of his teammates struggled. Pippen had a big first quarter, scoring 9 to lead the Bulls to a 25-20 advantageafter one. In the second quarter, the Pistons backcourt Dumars and THomas outplayed Pippen and the Bulls, taking as much as a 3 pt lead in the period. They fought off a late surge from Jordan to keep a 1 pt lead, 48-47 going into halftime.

Isiah led the Pistons with 16 pts in the first half, DUmars had 10. Jordan and Pippen combined for 33.

In the third quarter it was a back and forth affair in the first 6 mins with neither team gaining any true advantage. Jordan suddenly got hot, scoring 6 straight points as the Bulls, fueling a 11-6 run. to take a 5 pt lead. Jordan took an early rest for th the 4th, and Pippen tried to anchor the offense. A late run by Pistons bench had them within 3, 73-70

After a back and fourth between MJ and Isiah, Jordan would break out and score on 2 monstrous dunks, including one that was and and-one, scoring 7 in a 11-2 run that woudl totally swing the momentum towards the Bulls. THey would lead by as much as 11. Isiah would try to fight back, scoring 15 in the period but it was a bit too late, as the rest of the Pistons got drowned in the Bulls momentum. Bulls would win this convincingly, 100-91 and complete the First Round sweep of the Detroit Pistons.

Isiah Thomas put up a fight. He finished with 31 pts. Dumars added 16. 4 Pistons were in double figures. Rodman had 6 pts 15 rebs.

Jordan finished with 38 pts 4 rebs 9 assts 2 stls. Pippen added 27. Horace Grant had 6 pts 14 rebs.

I'm still pissed that if you start in the Magic/Bird era and try to play MJ's full career out, you'll never be able to hire Phil Jackson as the coach.
Went straight to MyTEAM once I found that out...guess I'll be miserable for another year.

The game doesn't generate real coaches as you move through the years so coaches like Jackson and Popovich never appear. He can create him though.

It’s clear 2k had a great ambition w/ this mode and released it w/ clear bugs, glitches and inconsistencies. It’s really a product of this era where we accept games in incomplete states. Even while appreciating the endeavour, I rather they started to work on this over several years to get it right then gradually fix issues and add something each year to complete it. It’s too massive and there’s literally zero $$$ incentive to make improvements in this mode.

I could see maybe by 2k25-26 this mode fleshed out, but by then more players will have likely vanished due to not securing a new deal as I’m sure it’s expensive to negotiate so many players individually. By then it’s also not new anymore and doubtful it will be a marketable mode for them, so who knows. I could see the mode staying buggy as hell or actually 2k scrapping it all together, at least make it less big, since it’s a big head ache I’m sure.

CHICAGO -- After sweeping thru the Detroit Pistons in the First Round, the Bulls face the strong Cleveland Cavaliers team led by Brad Daugherty and Mark Price.

                Watch here: https://youtu.be/3dpHitIaS8o

The Bulls got off to a fast start, going up 12-2, ingited by a spectacular steal and breakaway dunk by Michael Jordan to start the game. Brad Daughtery, however, started commanding the boards and the inside, narrowing the gap some. But Jordan had a late burst, and kept the lead at 10 going into the second period. In the second quarter, the Bulls defense continued to stiffle the Cavs offense and the lead balloons to 21 at the half, 42-21. They kept them at 21 pts in the half.

JOrdan led all scorers with 19 a the half.

In the 3rd quarter, the lead remained almost insurmountable. The Cavs offense, got more life though, as they started having success on the pick and roll. Mark Price startd hitting some shots, and delivering nice passes inside to Daugherty and Hot Rod Williams. They took advantage as Jordan took an early quarter rest and got the lead down to 13, but Pippen had a strong end of the period to keep them at bay with a 16-pt lead heading to the 4th.

In the 4th quarter, the Cavs could only cut it close to 13 pts, but Jordan would make some timely baskets, 10 in the 4th to seal it. Bulls win Game 1 handily by 14, 89-75,

Jordan finsihed with 36 pts 3 rebs 3 assts 4 stls. Pippen added 21 pts 6 rbs 6 assts.

Mark Price led the Cavs with 18 pts. Brad Daugherty added 15 pts 9 rebs.

For me I would rather have these new modes, with the bugs/glitches/inconsistencies and all. I haven’t even touched myTEAM or the Jordan Challenges yet because of all I am doing in the myERAS mode. Again this is coming from a strictly offline player so obviously those who prefer the online modes may disagree with me.

Yes myERAs was ambitious but the end product we got is at least functional. Hopefully throughout the course of this game’s life cycle, we will get the updates and fixes we need. But I don’t think the modes should be scrapped. If anything for next year, pretty much everyone is expecting some sort of Kobe Challenges for 2K24. I am a big supporter of putting more into the game than taking stuff out. Again if it’s a buggy, convoluted mess 2K can’t fix, then I understand scrapping the mode all together

                    Amen to this.

Specially for old heads like me, to be able to play in the 90s with these 90s teams is a joy, never mind it is incomplete. (hey we have the 2k community who can create rosters for that)

I would say we are 75% on the way to a full flegded MyEras Mode... Just need a few things fixed

CHICAGO -- Relive the Bulls-Knicks rivalry with this Eastern conference Finals matchup between Michael Jordan, Chicago Bulls and Patrick Ewing's New York Knicks.

                        Watch the game here https://youtu.be/PGD0VZ4L3kk

The Bulls were up early on the Knicks as the NY struggled to make their shots. They led by as much as 10. Ewing, however wa shaving success down low, scoring 8 in the first as he scored in a variety of spots on the floor. Jordan however was agressive, hitting 4/9 while going to FT line 7x, making all of them. Bulls up by 8, 29-21 after one.

After two initial baskets from Scottie, he struggled to put some more points on the board. Meantime, the NY Knicks slowly clawed their way back into the game with more effort plays and timely defense. The Knicks would but the lead to 4 but again, MJ helped Chicago finish strong, Lead is 10 at the half, 52-42.

In the third quarter, after another strong start, the Knicks were able to put together a late run that cut the double digit lead into 3. Jordan went to the bench and Pippen was able to give an extra lift to bring the lead back up to 7 by the end of the 4th, 71-64.

The Bulls momentum extendd into the 4th, leading by as much sa 16 halfway in the period. However, the Knicks were able to push closer by double teaming Jordan and Pippen in the post, and putting the ball down low to Ewing. The Bulls perimeter guys are unable to connect on their open 3's and the Knicks were able to come to within 6 with less than 2 mins to play. Ewing would not give up, and the Knicks go back and fourth, with Ewing cutting it to 4 with a jumper with 40 secs to go. The Knicks are forced to foul and the Bulls made their FT's. Starks also had a big turnover with 40 secs left.

                        Bulls take Game 1.

                        Jordan finished with 43 pts 4 rebs 10 assts 3 stls. Pippen added 27 pts 7 rebs 5 assts 3 blks. Horace Grant had a double-double with 10pts 14rebs.

Patrick Ewing ended with 33 pts, 13 in the 4th period. He also added 14 rebs 2 blks 2 stls. Xavier McDaniel was next with 17, Starks with 11.

LOS ANGELES -- It's Game 5 of the 1991 NBA Finals, and was supposed to be the coronation for the new king. But Magic Johnson also gets a second chance too, and went on to show he's still got the DOG in him.

                          Game link: https://youtu.be/piEZ45rgFqk

It was a close game in the first, with lead back and forth between the Bulls and the Lakers. Magic Johnson established himself in the post early, scoring 13 in the period and also facilitating the offense. He was looking like the best player on the court early. Michael Jordan had a great quarter too, with 19 pts 4 assts. Chicago holds a trim one point lead after one 29-28.

In the second quarter, Jordan continued to dominate. He helped he Bulls to a lead as high as 9 pts. The Lakers big men started to connect towards the end of the period, helping narrow the gap to as little as 2. However, Jordan would respond with 3 straight baskets, and gets the lead back up to 8 going into the half 53-45.

THe thrid quarter, Chicago continued to hold the lead over the Lakers with steady offense from Jordan and Pippen. Lakers would not fold though, as they kept fighting on with a balanced attack and increased tempo. While Magic was able to match Jordan offensively, his supporting cast stepped up in a big way, combining for 21 pts in the period. The Lakers finally grabbed the lead from the Bulls with an inside shot from Magic with 3 mins to go in the period. The Lakers momentum continued to the end of the period as the Lakers take a 3 pt lead heading into the final quarter, 79-75.

The 4th quarter was a battle of the superstars. Jordan and Pippen would score 14 pts each in this period, trying to will the Bulls into victory. However, whenever Jordan and Pippen would threaten to narrow the gap, Magic Johnson would respond hit the big shots to keep them at bay. He was simply remarkable, scoring like he has never had in a Final since maybe his rookie year in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He had 18 4th quarter points, with his biggest bucket coming at 1:36, hitting a tough shot fading away versus Scottie Pippen that kept the Lakers lead to 6 in a crucial moment. He would then make two big assists and a crucial steal in the final possessions to put the final touches for a Lakers win 119-108.

History is rewritten with the Lakers winning Game 5, pushing MJ and the 1991 Bulls to a Game 6.

Both superstars came to play in Game 5 finishing with 50-pt double-doubles.

Magic finished with 51 pts 5 rebs 10 assts 3 sts. Jordan had 57 pts 3 rebs 19 assts 3 stl.

It was the supporting cast that made the difference though, as the Lakers stepped up big time in the absence of Bryon Scott and James WOrthy .T.Smith 19, AC 18 - 6, Teagle 15.

Pippen was the only other Bull in double figures, finishing with 28 pts 7 rebs.

My First attempt at the JORDAN CHALLENGE: START of a DYNASTY. Magic Johnson was simply SPECTACULAR.

                          Tasks:
                          1. Wind the game
                          2. Score 30 pts get 10 assts
                          3. Shoot 50% or better from the field and Grab 4 rebs
