Seems like the AI is double teaming me more frequently now. Could be placebo, could be due to a patch, or could be the result of AI roster construction making doubles more necessary now than they were in my earlier seasons.

Double teaming MJ is hard coded into the game for that era. It's not reflective of play in general.

so will 2k ever fix this, is actually a huge issue, u can abuse pnr mismatches all day then...

hi guys i dropped the game until double team exists, and i was bored so i turned up the game last night, both ps5 and switch, i m telling ya all, double team is here now, if theres a mismatch CPU notices, if you are on fire CPU notices, not perfectly executed yet i think but i think they notice 8/10 times, there was once i got a mismatch using durant in paint against garland and nobody on the cavs came to help but maybe because garland wanted to try stopping durant, can u guys test the game and see if notice double team is back pls too?

It sounds like you already have your answer.

You kind of latch onto these threads and make the issue your entire experience with the game. Try to play without any additional input to sway you either way and see what happens. You’ll be a happier gamer for it.

It sounds like you already have your answer.

Probably because everyone has a different experience.

Just like the timeout thread that ranges from “I never see timeouts” to “I see them all the time”

Rosters, Sliders, Difficulty etc all add variables.

This is literally the first play of the game for me on default settings.

I think the bigger issue is the switch logic. Guards will switch on to low post scorers and there is no effort to switch off him. Its like the AI thinks "this is fine."

If a guard gets switched onto a post scorer, the AI defense needs to react to that even before double teams become relevant. But they don't, the defense behaves the same whether its Duncan guarding Shaq or Mugsy. A double team coming or not is almost irrelevant because Shaq is going to get a bucket before it arrives in that scenario.

All of these clips are on default everything literally 1st play.

Somebody on the back side really needs to help that first help defender, but that's fair enough. It is pretty interesting how experiences differ for various players.

I’m actually starting to see help defense in paint like the videos show too. My guys will back someone down then help will arrive and double him. Sometimes causing a foul. Awesome. But height mismatches are definitely not recognized by the game. I wonder if there’s some other issues in online play or something that causes them to not fix that.

Yes. Height mismatches aren’t recognized but I am seeing some paint help and doubles.
