    Yeah it’s odd. Do you notice the ugly animations when using shot timing in games as well? I played a hand using timing but was playing closer attention. I felt like most of my shots did go into MJ’s real landing/follow through animation mostly. But in practice, certain angles used the real animation and some used the fake one. It’s weird.

    I might have to try a game with fg% and see if I get swishes. I definitely did in practice. I wonder if lowering shot timing impact slider somehow affects it? I have it at zero. I did see swishes in practice mode.

    What shooting sliders do you guys use with real %? I have mine at 56 (close/mid/3) and it’s perfect for timing (with timing impact at 0 and jumpshot defensive strength sliders at 15) but it felt like less shots were going in sometimes.

      Try this with real fg.

      Go into freestyle with Steph. Or anyone.

      Take 10 shots from the same spot for 3. It always goes make miss make miss make miss.

      Only issue with real is the lack of hot and cold streaks

        Does changing the consistency slider resolve this?

        Put differently, does the consistency slider work on a per player basis or team?

        Having my entire team be in sync with hot and cold streaks does not sound appealing, but if it works on a per player basis that does.

          I’ve just noticed something. I went through all box scores. I’m 50 games into my season. In no game have I shot more than 50% on 3 in any game with one player.

          No 2/3…or 3/5 etc.

          Now that I’ve noticed it, I can see how the game is hard coded on real fg. I’ll have to switch back to user timing.

            Yeah I’m settled on user timing. Don’t get those sweet sug bases, but results variety is back.

            Just had a game where I went 5/19 in first half. Then 12/18 in 2nd half. Including 4 3s in row with Luka.

            Love the bases but can’t do that on real fg.

              How often are you noticing the wrong bases vs the proper bases triggered when using real timing?

                Probably 80% of the time it’s different.

                Still once I saw the scripting of real fg…I couldn’t play any more. I’d be running down the court to throw up junk because no matter what happens the next shot with that player was missing.

                      I forgot how good streaks were.

                      Was down 14 to Sac. Went 9/12 on 3s in 3rd Q to go up 11. Went to my bench who went to 1/9 in their 6 minutes and fell behind.

                      If that could be combined with the perfect sig shots of real fg, it’d be the perfect shooting system for me, personally.

                          Yeah I’m seeing that I can’t hit 2 shots in a row with the same player with Real Player % in 2K23. I don’t think it was an issue with other versions of 2K but I might use User Timing for the first time since I can’t hit consecutive shots and it’s scripted with a miss on your next shot if you already hit a shot with the same player.

                            Shot impact timing at 0

                            Jumpshot defensive strength sliders at 15 (both cpu and user since I don’t know which one effects user shots)

                            Close/mid/3 sliders at 56.

                            This solves everything. Timing still matters a lot but you don’t have to be precise. Contested shots go in at a realistic rate. So you basically get the best of both worlds: The engagement of timing but also a little bit of real %, and you get all the right rim physics too. Oh and always turn the meter off. You won’t have fun until you train your brain to go off of shot releases and not a dumb meter.

                            Try it before you make judgement. Trust me. It worked for several members who were frustrated with the game.
                            This works! Also to add, set Shot Timing to Very Late works wonders! I’m able to hit more than one consecutive shots unlike before when I was using Real Player %

                            Edit: I raised Mid-Range Success to 75 and I’m hitting consecutive shots in Practice

                              I'm a bit confused about comments regarding swishes on here.


                              I use real player % and I'm desperate to see a make that's NOT a swish. It is seriously annoying, I'm tired of hearing the same net sound nearly every time. I've had the game about a week fwiw.



                              No hot and cold streaks sucks yes, but sigs and bases are more important for me.

                                This is essentially what it comes down to. Although it’s not just lack of hot and cold streaks.

                                You literally cannot hit 2 in a row on real fg.
