    Next Gen worth it?

Not definite, but the possibility just opened up for me to maybe get a PS5 relatively soon. I'd have to spend a ton just to make the upgrade tho, plus have to redo all my characters. Probably be smarter if I waited till 2k24, but it still interests me to know the quality JUMP.

or should I just buy a used PS4 and get off switch?

I went from pS4 to Xbox Series X last year and I'd say there's a pretty big jump from last gen to next gen. The game atmosphere feels like more realistic and the gameplay was much better. Not to mention Eras mode in next gen.

Depends on what sort of modes you play. If you mostly play online, get a new-gen console. If you mostly play offline / single-player franchise mode, it'd probably be best to wait and see if 2K24 will be new-gen on PC, as mods (and greater hardware flexibility) always make that the best way to play single-player 2K.

Personally, I love the MyEras mode. It'd be worth upgrading for me for that alone.

Yea what he said ^^ I’m having so much fun playing with My 80s Lakers and 90s Knicks. It’s like I’m reliving my childhood.

haha, sounds bogus, and I haven't put it into practice yet (haven't done pvp stuff yet,) but I really believe the guys on ps4 are more or less 'leftovers.' That alone gives me hope. Not that there won't be trash people on NG but there is a much larger pool of people.

The game is different. I think it's less responsive, but it's also less cheesy in some ways. Stealing is different, super slow animations, "bad steal attempt," "bad block attempt," if you hack someone who just grabbed a reb, they get a FT for a "fast break foul."

The cpu double teams you sometimes! The whole build thing is different, slightly, and you get +4 badge points (wish I had known heh) once you complete your first 'quest.' I don't know if you continue to get them later on or not, but that's a pretty big deal. Took me awhile to get a similar build, and I'm definitely gonna be punished for my weaknesses, I think. Gonna get dunked on a few times and my perimeter D is pretty trash, but other than weird stuff (my dude did two lay ups where he was open, flew to the basket like he was gonna do a finger roll but ended up bouncing it off the back of the backboard (??) and more apparent 'sucking' animations with rebounds, it's pretty nice.

Preliminarily, I kind of think the PS4 version might be better for pure skill v skill, but since everyone is on NG by now, I dunno if it matters. It's cool. Seems slower but less cheesy. Running around the city is a pain. Not sure if they made Park not laggy, but there is a large amount of choppiness upon loading into the city (and my net is p decent tbh.)

If you love ball, yea... get the P5. Not necessarily because it's a better game (cuz I'm not sure yet? P4 2k23 was amazing, to me, other than the players,) but simply because that's where everyone is. Playing in the graveyard of P4 kids where you find someone who is competent like every 2-3 games in rec is kind of depressing. I HOPE it's different on P5. If it's not, it's probably NOT worth it, but... 2k on sale atm, P5 MIGHT be available. Might as well?
