Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
Is there a way to change/update the Offensive Gameplan OUTSIDE of actual gameplay so it defaults to what you want for each game? Specifically the favorite plays.
I’m playing a season in modern day era and I have to manually go into the gameplan setting at the start of each game and edit it. Doesn’t take super long, but seems like something that should be able to be done.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
I just started playing after 2K24 was added to Game Pass and I’m wondering why it is that I can’t hit any shots unless I perfectly green it.
I mean if I’m off by the tiniest bit on the shot meter it has NO chance of going in.
I’m playing MyNBA using CelticLG’s opening night scenario/roster/sliders/settings and controlling the Bulls.
Just played my opening night game against OKC and got torched by 80+ points (46-131) because nothing I put up would go in. Got most of my points off FTs.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
Thanks for all the help. LOL.
Anyway I figured it out. Just had to change it from Timing to Real Player % and I was able to hit some shots.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
I’m new to NBA 2K and hoops in general. I’m loving 24 and have a question for the group about stamina and rotations.
I know there are lots of variables that affect how stamina tolls, but I’m looking for general guidelines on the following questions:
For guys with 90+ stamina, about how many minutes per game should I be looking to play them, and what’s the ideal minutes per stretch for those guys?
What would be the ideal minutes and stretch time for guys with stamina in the low-mid 80s?
Thanks!Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
Thanks, Vetmin.
The larger question is actually what are realistic rotations, as I’m new to hoops and this game.
I’m trying to get a sense without having to watch and track a bunch of games of how subs in hoops generally work, while knowing there are team to team variances.
I use the Hawks and I can look up how many minutes per game guys play, but I’m not as familiar with how that tracks with in-game stamina ratings or with how long different positions typically play at a stretch.
I’m piecing it together as I go, but ballpark figures are most helpful to me at this point.Comment

For rotations, since an NBA quarter is 12 minutes, it's most natural to think in terms of dividing the quarter by 2 (6 + 6), 3 (4 + 4 + 4), and/or 4 (3 + 3 + 3 + 3), so you should look at the raw data from timelines like the above and kind of intuit what the concept behind it is. Also, rotations for the first half are usually the same as or at least very similar to the second half. When they're not it's usually because of some adjustment the coach is making (like a traditional center having to miss minutes because a small lineup is torching him), or due to foul trouble, etc.
Looking at the ATL timeline, I'd say (with ' = minutes):
- Young: 1+2+3Q (play 4', sit 4', play 4'), 4Q (play 3', sit 3', play 6')
- Murray: 1Q (play 8', sit 4'), 2Q (sit 4', play 8'), 3+4Q (ditto 1+2Q)
- Capela: 1Q (play 6', sit 6'), 2Q (sit 6', play 6'), 3+4Q (ditto 1+2Q)
...just to give a few examples of some simplifications I'd use if I were playing as the Hawks in 2K. You could literally build an advanced rotation that automatically makes these substitutions, or you could just kinda learn them and execute them manually (which is what I'd recommend).Comment

See the rotation timelines at nbarotations.info, for instance here's the Hawks: https://nbarotations.info/team/ATL2023

I was defaulting to longer stretches.
I’m surprised to see what long stretches Okongwu is playing! I guess that’s young legs at work for you!
Again, much appreciated.Comment
