Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
I asked in the Impressions thread but no one answered: How do 2K24 animation anomalies / glitches (esp. re: dribbling) compare to 2K23 or 2K22? The footage I’ve seen of 2K24 is quite bad in this regard, but I’m trying to understand whether the culprit is ProPLAY (my assumption) or something else. I know it’s not an issue on old-gen, but I don’t have a new-gen frame of reference pre-ProPLAY.Comment

I’m assuming you saw Shady Mikes post on X? It’s nowhere as prevalent as he’s tried to make it seem. I’m a fan of some of his content, but he’s clearly trying to set the stage to say his slider set cured everything, lol
There are some ProPlay growing pains, but IMO unless you’re looking for it, it’s not really noticeable.

Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
Game plays good for the most part but I can’t jump meter down in franchise. Having to remember 10-15 shots is really frustrating. They need to be more forgiven in single player mode. Skill issue I get it. Shot timing impact doesn’t do much. And if you use real fg% apparently ProPlay doesn’t work for certain players. Anyone got any tips?Comment

Actually I wasn’t aware of that, as I haven’t been on Twitter since it became X; I was just curious to see the new scoreboard in action so I watched a bit of gameplay on YouTube (just some normal, unedited NBA 5-on-5 action) and this animation issue surprised me. I feel it’s quite noticeable as long as your attention is on what the affected player (usually the ballhandler) is doing, and it seems very prevalent, with hiccups happening at least every few plays or so, if not back to back plays. I went into the Impressions thread to post about it, and by chance the latest post at the time had a ProPLAY hype video that itself features pretty obvious glitching (see my post there for specific points in the video: https://forums.operationsports.com/f...&postcount=275).
I think one thing that makes it so noticeable is that the ball is often involved, and the ball is the focal point and the most dynamic thing on the court. It reminds me a bit of an early glitch on 2K21 where ball/rim physics on Real Player % were completely wacked out, with the ball bouncing in ways & directions that made no physical sense. They fixed it quickly, but until they did Real Player % was basically unplayable. This ProPLAY thing is not as game-breaking, but it’s ironic because the whole selling point of ProPLAY is more realism in terms of the often subtle differences between how different players move, yet the animations are marred by outright physics-defying stuff that (to me) is far more noticeable, since it looks unnatural.
I’m not personally invested in 2K24 since I was always planning to skip this year, but it nevertheless concerns me since ProPLAY is apparently the future (as it should be). I hope these are indeed just growing pains that’ll be ironed out in a game or two (or sooner via patches). As it stands I have to say I’d rather have a smoother — even if less accurate from player to player — experience via traditional mo-caps than ProPLAY.Comment

I’m doing better after playing a few hours today. I can’t shoot with meter off though. Too many shots to remember for me. My brain is limited as is lolComment

Re: NBA 2K24 Questions Thread
I know HOF is green or miss but I thought Superstar wasn’t supposed to be that way. Am I mistaken?
I’m asking because I played 5v5 for the first time in a week after playing MyPlayer and I only made one non perfect in 3 full games. The 1st 2 days, I remember making a bunch of non greens.
I’ve only been playing with Sacramento and my shooting has gotten worse so I’m just confused. I’m concerned if I move it down to All Star that defense will be too easy since the CPU isn’t lighting me up as is."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman
