Re: NBA 2K24 Art Feedback Thread

This was in the game last year and I think I missed any post about it, but it seems like there are so many Eras players (from all past eras) with heads that are like 80% the size they should be.

Do we know anything about this?

Cade Cunningham's hair has been too short since the game came out. He also has more facial hair. None of the hairstyles in CAP replicate his afro either. He's a big name, make it happen!

Can we get an update to Maxi Kleber and Dereck Lively? Kleber needs a new face scan and Lively has dreads and his head look huge compared to his body.

The Suns added banners for their retired numbers. Would be a nice touch to the game.

Why don’t rookies have tattoos? This has never happened before

I'd expect they'll get added in the next batch of likeness updates.

Has Shawn Kemp gotten an update yet or was it just a smaller change to him I haven't noticed yet? I'm hoping for a brand new face scan, not just small things changed like some others got last patch.

Speaking of bad courts, the Mavs court has been way off for 2 straight years

That grey tile is not only wildly inaccurate, but a complete eyesore as well. Court is so bad, I refuse to play games in that arena.

This stuff is completely unacceptable from a company that prides itself on realism and authenticity…Why doesn’t the art team examine every court at the beginning of each season and clean up these minor details? Doesn’t seem like much work at all.

This is the problem with visuals overall in current 2k. They DON'T seem to pride themselves on realism or authenticity anymore. Both have seemingly taken a backseat to heavy gimmick moneymaking, hence the focus on online builds, City maps, and MyPlayer.

Visually, imo, to be a few years into next gen consoles, 2k basketball continues to be very underwhelming in a lot of areas not limited to faces, body scans, courts, lighting, pre- and post-game presentation, various association modes, etc. It is NOT yet the next gen game the community deserves. Nothing about it visually screams next gen compared to games like Alan Wake 2 or even MLB: The Show. Now, I say this knowing that development cycles and resources are different, but I make the comparison to agree with what you and others have said - that visuals still matter as much as gameplay to a lot of people and they matter in sports games just as much as any other game.

Gameplay is solid with a custom roster and realistic sliders, but so many other equally important areas of this game are downright neglected and severely lacking every year that it's a shame they try to charge folks upwards of 70 dollars. Worse yet, that people pay it.

I agree 100%. This gen has been a major dud thus far. Nothing (aside from Eras) has truly been built from the ground up. Everything has just been ported over from last gen. This is the 1st 2K that has me adamant about NOT purchasing next year‘s title UNLESS there is a dramatic improvement, visually, OR ‘next gen’ is finally brought over to PC (yep at this point, I have more faith in that community to deliver the experience that we deeply desire)

I agree with you about the PC community. I'm a completely offline sim guy in 2k. I've been console since the Dreamcast, but next year I am highly considering investing in a gaming PC just to take advantage of the amazing mods that PC has because they are light years ahead of almost every visual detail in console 2k. I really hope 2k truly improves 2k25 visuals, but I'm not hopeful at this point. I'd bet more on 2k turning into a completely online experience in the coming years, putting even less effort into sim detail and authenticity next year.

Is it me or did I have to take a few minutes to see the difference of the pic, lol

I agree the court gotta get updated top not so grey for sure but from that image, it don't look that bad but I aint a mass fan to really notice.

Did you submit a ticket to 2ksupport with images to get this fixed? Season 3 Patch soon come!
