If they delivered the NBA stuff, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

But actually, its unacceptable! I'm glad, this year, more of you are bothering with this issues, because 2K has been doing this for years!
And really, if they even took a year to focus on the things we are talking about like better looking courts, body models, jerseys, etc they could probably get it to a point where they really only need to do minor tweaks and update the usual yearly things like new player faces, new jerseys, maybe new arenas and logos, etc. PC mods prove that you can take what exists and make it look a lot better. Hell the photo/replay mode in 2k24 can make the game look even better.

I don't love the graphics, but it doesn't prevent me from enjoying the game. And the game can look great in motion at times. It's just too bad this side of the game doesn't get the attention it deserves.

I've thought for years sports games should at minimum be released every 2 years. Realistically, it should be just like the UFC series. Unfortunately, the leagues won't allow that.

Court textures resolution is also very low. I've never played 2k14 on the "next gen" but I was never impressed when watching videos and looking at it in motion.

Nearly every texture was lower res except for the face scans which was why Kobe and LeBron for example looked as good as they did. As a whole though it lacked in a lot of areas, which it should being the first game on a new system in 2013.

Are you talking about an off the backboard alleyoop or am I misunderstanding? Because not only has that been done in the NBA (both from one player to another as well as self alley-oops) but I've done that in 2k games as early as 2k3, 2k4.

Unless you are saying the AD caught it off the back board but, instead of dunking it, he passed the ball to someone else for an alley-oop. Which is over the top, but also

We all (at least us slightly older heads) remember how awesome this was and it didn't even involve the backboard.
No no, you showing a amazing and real NBA play....

Thinking about whether or not to buy the game this year!

Question for who has the game:

The less reflection on courts is too drastic? Because Youtube can't show the real images for the game.

This reflection problem is only on actual NBA teams? Or apply on My NBA Era too?

I think this years version doesn’t look quite as nice. I think it’s a bit cartoony. But you get used to it and it’s no reason not to buy the game imo.

Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23

For me, I’m skipping 2K24. I have a very specific way of playing 2K and somehow every 2K24 glitch seems to affect how I play 2K:

1: I personally can't justify getting a new game and putting in tons of roster time into a game that visually looks worse than my current game. Especially since court presentation, colors, even the editor screen go a long way for me.

2: I build all time rosters to use in modern nba mode, and I use the Bulls/MJ and I create a court that looks like the 90’s Bulls court (I don’t download the original 90’s bulls court cause then I lose the Pa announcer, various jerseys and a lot of arena presentation, so I edit floor only). In 2K24 this would be impossible because there are new game breaking floor edit glitches such as you can’t select “no paint” anywhere because now there’s a new beige paint color glitch that goes anywhere you select “no paint.” Next, you can’t put spaces on the baseline text so it would say “CHICAGOBULLS.” Next, text on the sideline is glitched so it spills onto the court.

3: broadcast camera which is the only camera I play with, is broken in 2K24. The key zoom is always on even if you turn it off and it also zooms too far out at half court and doesn’t follow the gameplay properly.

4: Classic Bulls jerseys are wrong. It doesn’t look right seeing the black patch on the 93+ Bulls uniforms.

5: Finally, I feel like I can truly enjoy the fruits of my labor on 2K23. Now that they aren’t patching gameplay and changing things, I have it playing flawlessly after tons of hours of sliders, roster edits, sig edits, etc. I may not have proplay but my focus is on classic players anyway (who don’t get proplay) and with just how much I’ve edited everything across the board, players have such distinct styles and actions it doesn’t look far off proplay in 2K24 visual footage.

I’m seeing thread after thread of people stressed out about constant changes and chasing sliders to compensate and I just can’t do that another year lol. I need a break from it. And I certainly can’t do it for a game that is glitched in several things I personally need from a 2K game, and I especially can’t do it worth a game that looks worse than my current 2K23 game.

To each their own. That’s just my story. If I wasn’t so OCD about roster editing and I just played the game out of the box or used someone else’s rosters then I’d absolutely get it just because why not, though I’d maybe wait for a sale. But for me, getting a 2K is a big time investment and 2K24 is the first 2K in 4 years I chose it’s not worth it. And based on various reviews (reviews seem very hit or miss for the game), video footage and me playing and seeing the game on a friends PS5 and TV that’s much better than mine (in which I came away still thinking 2K23 looks a lot better despite seeing it on my inferior tv on a non 4K Series S), I’m sticking with 23 and gonna save that energy to get back into the roster edit and slider/patch chase game for 25. I just hope they work out all the new glitches I listed above.

I’d personally wait until Black Friday. With all the bugs (that likely won’t be addressed) on top of minimal improvements over ‘23, this is probably the most skippable 2K ever

Not at all.. Pro Play alone makes it a buy right out the gate. Every single game nowadays is released with some sort of bug, it is what it is. Thats what patches are for.

Pro Play is cool but let’s not act like it’s some revolutionary feature that has dramatically changed the way that the game looks and feels (especially over ‘23). This is not the case at all… and some of these bugs have been in the game for 2-3 years and still haven’t been fixed. We need to stop acting like they actually care to address anything, via patches, that isn’t MyTeam, MyCareer and Park related.

The most vocal dudes in here don’t even own the game 😂 this is the best gameplay 2K has had in a long time and y’all really gonna say it’s the most “skipable”………. To each their own but there’s definitely some Twitter acting dudes on OS these days, at least the entertainment value is high on here lol
