Going into 4th season, I wanted to move on from the 76ers. When everything went right, Maxey and Embiid were good running mates. But, so many times it didn't go right. Embiid doesn't play like himself and too often takes inefficient shots and Maxey can be a serious shot chucker. And AI playcalling ran everything through them. So, I wanted to go to a team where there were no stars and I wanted to pair with a young 2k generated drafted player and form a dynamic duo. There weren't many teams that fit that bill. So I chose the Jazz because it was just Markkanen and they had decent role players that fit my preferred playstyle. I felt I target a 2k generated player in a trade. I wanted to go for a PG with higher passing ability. I found a generated 2nd year PG on the Nets who was an athletic Two-Way 81 OVR 3 level scorer and a above average passer, only downside was that he was 5'10. I didn't think that would matter as much as long as I could get him wide open shots, but it did. I used all 3 trade targets to get him. He was terrible for us all season. I didn't realize that the 5'10 height would be that much of an issue, but it was one. Out of the 10+ key games, he probably only had 1 good game shooting. Kuminga was on the team as well. It was frustrating that AI wanted to run everything through Markkanen and Kuminga. So, I just decided to rush through the season. Once you get to tier 4, the rest of the tiers rewards aren't worthwhile. So, I was going to sim through the playoffs and get to FA. The only thing was that we kept winning series and made the finals against Cavs. I kept swimming until we were down 3-2. I was just going to sim the game, but couldn't because it became a key game. Game 6 I did HOF on 5 minutes. We were able to win a close game to force game 7. For game 7, I wanted to play closer to a full game since it would be my final game with team and wanted to feel like I truly won the championship. Whew, that was the most intese game I played in MyCareer lol. It felt like a true HOF difficulty game. Evan Mobley in year 4 of MyCareer is a problem defensively. He plays how I envisioned my PF playing on defense. He has 99 Perimeter D, 99 block, good interior D. I'm not going to lie, I started myself at SG, so I could guard Mitchell and also to get Mobley off of me on offense lol. But, the AI wasn't having that and still had Mobley guarding me. He was getting over every screen, stole 6 passes, and blocked 3 shots. Usually I can use Spot Finder badge to get easy cuts to basket or get Open. I don't know why I felt slower that game using spot Finder and Mobley didn't allow me to get easy baskets. I struggled shooting the ball. But I was having my best passing game. It was a close game throughout and we kept having to claw our way back in the game. This HOF difficulty game felt different then the others. I was struggling shooting, and they were still throwing doubles at me with Mobley guarding. The only time they throw doubles at me is when I'm cooking. I had a bad first half, but really picked it up on the second half. It was a back and worth game. We were down 7 when I got subbed back in the end of 3rd. It was back and forth all 4th. What helped all game was that the role players were hitting open 3s all night, besides the PG I had us trade for. I ended up having my first in game triple double with my PF with only one turnover. Mainly because I was getting doubled and guys were hitting shots. It was a close game, but our offense was stalling because I couldn't get the easy shots I'm use to, the AI wanted to run everything through Markkanen, and the PG I traded for was stinking up the joint. So a couple point lead we had with a few minutes left evaporated. We found ourselves down 4 points with like 50 seconds left in Game 7. With how intense that game was and my first triple double, I was willing to accept that L. But not without a fight. I allowed the AI to run a Markkanen low post because it would draw a double team once in a while. He got doubled and I finally was able to hit a open 3 to get the deficit to 1 with like 30 seconds. On the next possession, I was able to get Mitchell to force a bad shot or a turnover. They tried to run a play for Markkanen, but I wasn't having that lol. If we were going to lose that game on a play ran for him. I had Mobley on me as well, so I knew I couldn't get a easy look either. So, I had the ball down 1 with 20 seconds left. I called for a pick, hoping that either I could throw a lob or pray Mobley doesn't get around the pick easily for a open shot. But as time was winding down and the pick was being set, they tried to trap me, leaving Markkanen wide open for a three. He hit that three with 1.7 seconds, putting us up 2 points. That really felt like a real life team I'm rooting for hitting a clutch late shot. On the last Cavs possession with 1.7 seconds left, I was just determined not to let Mitchell hit that shot. Garland got it past the logo and forced a deep shot and missed. That was the most exciting intense game I played in MyCareer ever lol. It felt like a game we should have lost with me struggling from the field for the title. But, we willed our self back to win the title.
Going into year 5, I really don't know which team I want to sign with. Ideally, I would still want to pair with a 2k generated drafted player. But not too many teams that doesn't already have an established star player there for the AI playcalling to mess that plan up. I don't want to play on a stacked team. The issue with Sixers was that it felt like Embiid got pushed to third fiddle too much. I want to be more of a 50/50 scoring punch. I already have an idea of the 2k generated player I want. It's the SG Norris I traded for while I was with the Sixers. Looking at the FA board, he is a 86 OVR with A- Inside, A+ Mid/3pt/PerD/IQ, A Playmaking/Physical. He's definitely the player I will target in a trade. He's a SG. But with his A Playmaking and being 6'4, I might just start him a PG where ever I go. Looking at all the teams, I winded it down to 2 teams. The Mavs and Spurs. Mavs were my first team. Luka left and Kyrie left and came back and is 35 years old and 87 OVR. I would chose that team because it would it would be a team that should be able to form a dynamic duo with the generated player Norris. But, that team is bad and would be frustrating. The other team I'm considering is the Spurs. It wouldn't fit the mold I want to play, but I'm leaning towards it. Wemby is a 96 OVR and I know AI will run everything through him, but I would be okay with that. My build is versatile enough to play 2-5. So I'm not concerned about where I would start. They have Jalen Duren at Center along with 2 other generated centers who seem to have higher potential. Me, Duren, and Wemby would create a massive defensive frontcourt that should snag down a ton of rebounds. Vessel is a good 3 & D wing. Their weakness is at PG where it is the highest rated guy is a 79 OVR generated player who has A Mid, A+ 3pt, and A- PLMK/Physical. I rather have him as a backup. That's where the player I want to target, Norris, comes into play. He's a SG, but has PG size and good enough Playmaker for. He's the type, where I would use all 3 requests for since they have good generated players on team. It would be more of a stacked team. But on paper, the type of defensive team I wanted to play on. A lot of size in the front court with good rebounders and shot blockers).
I chose the Spurs, but couldn't get them to trade for Norris will all 3 trade attempts. Unfortunate, but team is good enough without him. Only issue is that there is only 1 PG on the team and mostly front court players.
