There's time I can get steals in the backcourt just by the player dribbling in front of me and them losing the ball. Usually when my matchup is the inbounder, I quickly try to guard the PG before my matchup passes halfcourt just to trigger 94 feet. There was only two games where Ankle Braces actually triggered. But that was when I was guarding a guard. I got it to Siver. I focus on doing drills after every game to grind badges. I do have they Winner Takes All performance multiplier and Overdrive, so I'm a few games paway from maxing Workhorse and 94 feet.

    I don't know why Lively has a 58 3pt and 95 Spot Up 3pt tendency. He ends up taking 1-3 3pt shots a game
Yeah the fact Lively won't rim run is dumb, I agree. The difference from when I run PNR and when Luka runs it is crazy. They lazily run to the rim with Luka on set plays.

I don't like putting steals on the right stick. I always use it for hands up, I'll try and put my hands up quickly and it goes for a steal and I get the foul. But having STR at 60 I get bump steals, so I can only imagine if that was upgraded. I still get forced pick ups with bronze badges so you should be great guarding the ball. Have you taken him online, or played any of the blacktop games?

I have 90 strength and with the combo I was saying earlier, I can get bump steals easily. I got 2 off of Morant. I don't use steal button unless I'm trying to intercept. I use just hands up mostly. Even blocks, with Bronze Anchor and 77 block, I can get blocks just off of hands up defense. I'm a game away from getting HOF 94 Feet and Gold Ankle Braces. So after that, I just have to get HOF Ankle Braces and Workhorse. I can't really guard PGs. I can get them off track, but I don't have the speed to guard quick PGs
I have not touched online and don't really plan to. The obvious downside to that is that there are quests I can't complete without playing online

Which difficulty do you guys play on? If I play pro, my teammates will shoot over 50% every game. If I play on All-star, they will struggle to shoot over 40%. So I'm not sure which difficulty is the right one for me. It's probably because I play for the Wizards, but they were the only team that needed a center.

I play on Superstar. I just had a game against the Nuggets, where Kyrie was injured for a few games. Luka went off for an efficient 51 points in essentially a blowout victory. Teammates are more reliable this year, it's all about them getting put into a position to succeed. I tinkered with the playbook to have plays where we have plays that create high quality shots. It also depends on matchups. I do think gameplay is more accurate as far as guys playing to their strengths. When matched up with an AI defender with 85+ Perimeter D, your star AI Teammates will struggle. Luka for the part will always get his 25-30+ points, it just depends on if its efficient or not. Someone like Kyrie is a different story. As someone who wants to take advantage of his Gold Brick Wall, I set a ton of screens. It opens up a lot of easy shots, but it also comes with negatives. Guys like Kyrie and Luka will always take that shot coming off a solid screen. It's all about getting them good looks and feeding them when they're hot.

Superstar is good for me. It's competitive enough where games are always close, but there is enough margin of error where you can overcome some mistakes. With HOF, there is ZERO margin of error. Any team good or bad will light you up and your teammates will light you up and teammates will struggle if they aren't taking good shots. I don't want to consistently dominate teams, but at same time I don't want to have to play perfectly to win games. I'm shooting 40% on high volume(6-7 3PA) and I'm happy with that, but offense feels realistic that I can't make a close shot unless it's wide open since I have 72 shot close and untouched finishing attributes. I'm semi-considering bumping the difficulty to HOF for one game. I'm waiting for my Season 3 Trendsetter rewards pack to roll out which includes 1 hour of double MC XP.. if I could have a game game on a HOF key game with double XP, I could make serious progress in progression

            Re: NBA 2K24 MyPlayer Thread

I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to do Key games in my rookie season. My main goal was to max my defensive badges and figure out offensive game outside of shooting 3s. I'm a game/Brickley workout away from getting HOF Workhorse and Gold Ankle Braces. I'm not sure how much I'll grind towards HOF Ankle Braces. It's a badge that rarely triggers and will regress after each game. It feels like Ankle Braces is almost useless unless you are guarding a PG who uses dribble moves. It is weird how some badges progresses very quickly and some you have to spam it to progress it. Playmaking badges were super quick to progress. When I actually tried, it just took 2-3 games and practices to get Dimer, Post Playmaker, and Relay Passer to Silver. And that was just getting 3-5 assists a game. But for shooting badges, it feels like I have to shoot like Steph Curry to make any progress. I've been stuck on Silver Catch and Shoot for a while, maybe I'm a few games away from Gold. But for the other badges, it feels like I'm making no progress, even though they trigger a couple times a game and I use the Overdrive badge perk on them as well. I just want to get Catch and Shoot to Gold and get Open Looks and Claymore to Silver.

Besides that I want to move up Goat tier and it's hard to do that playing every game, especially when you don't put up ridiculous stats. It's hard for me to get 20+ points because Luka and Kyrie takes up a bulk of shots. I'm lucky to get 10+ shot attempts, most of time I get 7-10 attempts. Best way to move up GOAT tier is to get accolades. You pretty much have to win a championship to move up to tier 4. Not fully sure if there is a requirement for actual games played requirement, but might just do Key games from here out. From what I seen, last gen is games played(37-40), current gen looks to be Tiers to unlock trade Influence. I've seen Tier 4 or Tier 5. Honestly, I don't really care about Influence Free Agency yet. Main because I don't plan on resigning with my current team. I just wantto Influence trades on my next team. I've seen some say that you can Influence trades on Tier 5. If that'd the case, that would be perfect. And from what I've seen, it is Tier 5 to unlock Trade influence. Which is getting to 900,000 Goat points which is just winning a championship. So , even if I have to force us to win a championship year one, I'll do it.

I already have an idea of which team(s) I want to play on a more defensive team for my next team. As much as I like playing with Luka, it feels like my player is the only plus defender in the rotation. My original choice is the Bulls. That would be a good defensive team if DeRozan walks. Lonzo, Caruso, and me as perimeter defenders. Lavine seems like a guy that I could compliment well and Vucevic could be a solid scorer. There's a couple good guards off bench in Jevon Carter and White. Ideally Drummond resigns. Drummond is the type of center that always plays well in 2k. The negative thing with the Bulls is that I'm really dependent on Lavine being a #1 option and Vucevic to be consistent. Lavine seems like he could give me Kyrie-esque PTSD lol. Where he could easily give you 30+ or stink up the joint. Plus, playing with Luka has shown me playing with a Superstar who can takeover is a must when you're not a primary scorer. My other option is the Sixers. As a Sixers fan, I know they only have like 4 guys signed onto the roster for the next season. So I can easily slot into the PF or SF spot. Playing with Embiid should be great since he is a 2 way center who will open up a lot of open shots when he is doubled. Maxey's speed and 3pt ability should play very well off of my Gold Brick Wall. The main negative with the Sixers is that I would be reliant on them making good Free Agent signing before I get there or I would be very reliant on using the Trade Influence feature to fill out roster. Ideally, I would want two other 3 and D wings along Maxey, me, and Embiid and I would need to make trades to fill out depth.

I'm to the point where I'm being forced to play Key games. I got selected for All Star, but was able to skip that weekend. I'm in March. My key game is Rookie 3pt leader, I guess I was putting up ridiculous sim stats. I'm 6 away from the record, so I might just drop the difficulty own to Rookie for a game just to get the record. I dont want to play more games than i have too. As far as I know, that should be the last record game I should have. Only ones left before playoffs I can think of is if they force me to play against a star who's performing well or playoff related. I'm rushing through it now, because I'm mentally done with playing with this team and I hit my rookie season goals. I maxed my important badges. I just got Catch and Shoot to Gold. My other badges are the other shooting badges. It's weird for me, I have used Real Player % for the last few years. I just feel Shot Timing isn't realistic and It really feels like Green or miss. I recently turned Shot Timing on because I struggle with shooting drills. It's weird, I can Green shots with ease in practice, but I can't in games. So I just switch back and forth. Only badges I care about are the shooting badges which are taking forever to progress and quickly regresses. I just care about getting Claymore to Silver and Open Looks to Silver. I am looking forward to signing with the Sixers. I just played them and Embiid went off. I know he's someone who will open up a ton of shots for me. I just need to make sure we went the Championship, so I can move to tier 5. By the look of sim stats, I should make All-NBA, Win RoY and DPOY, and All-Rookie

I NEED the PA to say "LUUUUUUKAAAAAAAAAA" when I'm playing. Lol I've played with LA, ORL, and even tho those rosters are more intriguing, there's nothing like "Luuuuuukkaaaaa FOR THREE!"

Take your time your rookie season. Free Agency is a mess, IMO. Lots of 1 year deals for quality players, too. Valenciunas usually team swaps year to year. Nurkic is another that signs 1 year deals and gets bounced around cuz he's good value.

Drummond is amazing, but Steven Adams is easier to get. Pelicans have some good depth, too. I usually grab Alvarado if I can.

Mavs roster with Adams and Alvarado would fix a lot of issues for you.

I also did the same trades with LA tho. Sliding AD to the 4 and starting Jose on that team is just mean. But that team isn't any fun if LBJ retires after year 1.

I already simmed my way to the Playoffs lol. I wasn't playing, when I said I wasn't mentally done with team lol. The Kyrie experience was weird. He played better off the bench(u kept him as the starter when I forced to play Key games at the end). He would take a lot of what. I call" Why Kyrie" shots. But, I felt he missed too many shots he should have made. Even when Luka had bad games, he was always good for 25-30 points. My only somewhat regret was not putting Curry higher in rotation. He started season low in rotation, so I rarely played alongside him, especially when Kyrie was the 6th man. But, he was the best consistent shooter in the last few key games I played. It is funny that you mentioned Adams. When I was simming games. I had 2 keys between 4 games before All Star weekend. In between games, we had one of those unrealistic 2k trades. We tried Josh Green(who low in rotation) for Mitchell Robinson. He would've been great. An athletic rim running rim protector who can snatch up rebounds. The issue was that in between those key games, we traded for him and he immediately got injured for 6-8 weeks. So I never got the chance to play with him. When I simmed to the Playoffs, Robinson is healthy, but Luka is out for 4-6 weeks. I'm ready to move onto new team, so normally I would be okay with losing in the first round. But, I need to get to tier 5. I got RoY, DPOY, All-NbA, All Defense, Rookie 1st Team all mainly off of sim stats. But, I need to win championship to get to tier 5 before season.2. So, honestly might just sim games and make sure we win.

I will take my time in my second season. Like I said, I'm mostly done the grinding and want to get to the point where I'm playing for enjoyment. I wouldn't be opposed to resigning with the Mavs, especially with them having Robinson at Center. If I could trade for a versatile defender like Jaden McDaniels or Vanderbilt, I would like the lineup more. But, I'm locked in on playing with the Sixers. I just need to see what moves they make in offseason since they have a lot of guys that are Free Agents. The good part of my build is that I can play 2-4.

                  Re: NBA 2K24 MyPlayer Thread

Made sure I won the NBA finals to get to Goat Tier 5. I signed with the Sixers. They traded for Duncan Robinson and Kevin Love last year. They signed Kyle 'Slo-Mo' Anderson and Monte Morris. I'm going to see how Anderson plays as the PF. He might be a solid role player with his ability to hit the 3, solid defender, and secondary ball handler. They slotted Robinson to start, I rather him come off bench. Based on lineup, we have major need at SG, since we have Jaden Springer starting. That's why I made sure I can Influence trades. I want a 3&D wing. I looked through the league, I was tempted to choose Alex Caruso. But opted to choose Matisse Thybulle for my first target. He has 83 3pt, 89 Per D, and great defensive badges. I will play the first 2 games of seasons, then sim until they decide whether they want to trade. Not loving the center depth either. I'm leaning towards targeting Drummond because of his rebounding and Gold Brick Wall. Ideally I can get those two players. I have to see how Monte Morris and Kyle Anderson plays. Ideally, I want the starting forward to be a good enough defender for us to be versatile while also being a solid enough 3pt shooter. If Morris can be a solid backup PG and Anderson can be a solid starting forward next to me, it would allow me to choose a 2k generated rookie that has higher upside.

I will take time before first game to edit playbook. I am looking forward to playing with the Sixers. I did rush through my rookie season, but I'm that the point where I want to play for enjoyment, while also having more room to grind.

Played my game with the Sixers against the Celtics. That was a great first matchup to start off with. Against a great team with good defenders 1-5. Embiid started off 1-6, but then finished off 6-10. Embiid problems was/is that he has a high spot up tendency, so if he's open for a second when he catches the ball, he will always take that shot. I just need to make sure he is getting into the plays, because he started to, he was dominant. Maxey was good. I had a good game shooting from deep. I have Gold Catch and Shoot and got Silver Claymore, I'm probably a couple games away from getting Silver Open Looks, so after that, I should be more consistent from 3pt. We had a 6 point lead when I got subbed back in. We tried our best to give the game away, but still managed to get a close victory when they had ball late with chance to win. The offense got so boggled down. Issue was that it kept calling plays for Maxey or Me. It didn't feel like Embiid got an plays down the stretch. I even tried passing him the ball and quickly calling a quick post, but he quickly passed it up. That game also was good to see what type of trade suggestions I should make. I definitely hope we can get Thybulle with my first suggestion. Original plan was to trade for a backup Center next. But, I do want to see if Kevin Love and Paul Reed can hold up. I just need a backup Center who can offensive rebound and not be a complete zero on defense. For my second target, I will go after a solid 3 & D wing to start alongside me. I think Kyle Anderson should be solid, but I rather him come off bench. I just want someone who I can put on good wings and have 80 3pt. Good thing about suggesting trades for this current team is that besides Embiid and Maxey, no one else I would care if they got traded. Ideally if I could get Jaden McDaniels and Mattise Thybulle, that would make a legit perimeter wing trio with all 3 guys with 89+ Perimeter D, that would allow me to put Maxey on worst guy on defense.

I have NEVER gotten Thybule and trade for him almost every time. Lol

Had to take a break. I'm in January still my first season. 23-7-7 playing within the offense. Having a blast today. Idk why I stopped playing. Ahah

                      Re: NBA 2K24 MyPlayer Thread

Thybulle would've been a perfect fit . But didn't get him lol. Then I tried for Jaden McDaniels, then didn't get him either. Those were the 2 main guys. So, I had to choose which one I wanted to try again for with my last request, I chose McDaniels because I wanted more size oh the wing. I was able to get McDaniels. I can deal with Kevin Love as backup Center. I just need him to get the occasional rebound and hit a three once in a while. I just wish I got Thybulle as well. That would be a fierce defensive trio. I just opted to go with Jaden Springer at the starting lineup. He's only a 72 OVR, but he has 78 Perimeter D and 80 3pt. So he's good enough for the three and D role. Until we make one of the unrealistic 2k trades, I don't love the depth. So, I opted to shrink the rotation to mainly 9-10 guys. I'm considering starting my PF at SG, McDaniels at SF, and Anderson at PF. I can hang with SGs.. Anderson offers the 80 3pt and Perimeter D pairing, so he could fit my style. I could put him on the worst/slowest option on defense. I just have to see how rotations are when they sub one of us out.

Embiid started off poorly and Maxey started off hot. But, that was because Embiid wasn't getting plays and forcing shots. But, since the McDaniels trade, Embiid has been great and Maxey has been solid. They have been calling playing for Embiid and when he gets doubled, it leaves a wide open guy who usually hits since every starter has 80+ 3pt. Plus it does help that Team Chemistry is increasing so teammates are playing better. The only issue with the offense is that I'm not getting any play calls lol. I had this off ball screen 3pt play that would give me open looks every time. Last couple games, I had to call for ball and force shots on his side. I was able to do a hard close out and the HOF Challenger came in handy and was able to affect the shot and he missed. If not for the HOF Challenger it would've been a foul because he fell and I was right under him. Last few games I have been getting called fouls on 3pt shots. That was a great close win and should be fun playing with another lockdown defender. The two games Kyle Anderson was out, so we were small when McDaniels was out.

I got Mid Range to 70 and next upgrade should max it to 72 to get Silver Middy Magician. I might add Mid Range to my Play Priorities. With Gold Catch and Shoot and Silver Open Looks, I should be able to hit open mid range shots at 70. As far as badges, I'm working on Silver Spot Finder. I want to get Deadeye and Blinders up but I'm making zero progress on it. I'm not too concerned with it because I don't take contested shots like it. I got Silver Claymore, I don't take too many standing 3pt shots, but when Embiid gets doubled, that badge will come in handy. I might work on Special Delivery since I get it to Silver. I have yet to attempt a lob, but I know alley oops gives big boost to teammate grade. Don't have too many lob threats, but can use McDaniels and Springer for lobs

I play for the Wizards and I can't win a game to save my life. We lost 9 of our last 10 games and we can't even win simulated games. I don't want to ask for a trade like everyone else does, I want to be loyal and stick with one team. They were the only team that needed a center. Poole keeps bricking 3s everytime and Kuzma is inconsistent. Everybody else doesn't want to score it seems. Now I know how it's like to play for a losing team. We're the Detroit Pistons of this career mode.

Team Chemistry does play huge part in how games go. In past games, higher teammate Chemistry meant teammates will play better defense, and you usually start blowing teams out. Now, it's that plus teammates will hit shots consistently. That's how it was for me when first started. Luka and Kyrie couldn't hit shots and we would lose to every team. But, once teammate Chemistry grade gets past like 80%, that's when you'll win games consistently and teammates play better. I'm at 100% teammate grades and we are winning games consistently and guys are playing better. I'm on the Sixers, I was just playing key games and Embiid and another starter both hurt for 6-8 weeks. We only had like 7 guys I wanted getting minutes and we could still win games. We had a game against Wolves where I shut down Towns and I put Jaden McDaniels on Edwards and he shut him down. It literally felt like I was playing on Rookie because Maxey was hitting shots like crazy and I was able to score off of just hustle. I had to bump difficulty from Superstar to HOF. When I first played on HOF in rookie season, we would get blown out by any team. My first game on HOF with 100% teammate Chemistry, we blew out Nuggets lol. So, Teammate Chemistry is very important.

Also, you have to take time and utilize the Edit Playbook and Play Priorities features. I went through and replaced plays I didn't like with plays that create open/advantageous looks. Also go through and change play priorities for teammates. I change the play priorities to the strengths of how teammates play on the court, not real life. Tendencies are good, but some guys aren't effective in game playing like themselves. Unless a teammate is an elite shot creator or elite one on one talent, I take off of Isolation for teammates. I kept it on for guys like Luka and Kyrie. But, when I got to Sixers, I took off Isolation for Embiid and Maxey. Besides flopping/flailing lol, Embiid doesn't play well in Isolation in this game because he doesn't play like himself in those situations. I even took off Post Up High for Embiid because they just have him doing post hooks from 12-15 feet. I took off Handoff receiver for Maxey because he can't finish in the paint like he can in real life. So, I chose plays that suits their strengths in game. It's more of playing to win, rather than playing true to life. For Embiid, I just have Post Up Low, PNR roller, and Mid Range. It's not true to life having Embiid running off ball screens, but with 95 Mid Range, him having centers running around screens gets him wide open mid range shots. Having just Post low is a win win. He either gets doubled and leads to a open shot for teammate, or he gets a one on one look in the low post area. So take time to adjust playbook and change the play priorities

It feels like it usually ends up being for a scrub who doesn't play. I know in the past there were risks if you request a trade target you might lose a key player in return. But, it seems like they tuned it to where they do lopsided trades.

It would be nice to know who are the most likely to be accepted. I used three attempts and only ended with one player my first year with the ability. I am about to get to my next year and I want to be able to get three targets or at least two of them lol. I'm not the type who wants a team full of Superstars. I want specific role players. I got Jaden McDaniels. Especially a guy I can put on the best wing defender and he'll shut him down. He was the only guy I was able to get. I want to be a lockdown team. I wanted to get Matisse Thybulle, but wasn't able to get him. For next season, I want to trade for a primary athletic lockdown SG who has at least 80 3pt. I'm a lockdown defender and McDaniels is one too. But neither one of us can really stay with the smaller quicker guards. If I can get someone like Matisse that would solidify our perimeter defense. I just would want an upgrade at backup Center and another 3 & D player off bench as well

From what I just seen we traded a 74 OVR rookie for McDaniels, so it's likely lopsided traded like that

Just finished my second season with a championship with the Sixers. I ended up just playing key games. I really didn't like the depth of team and wanted to win a title to get to Goat Tier 5 to ask for FAs. I ended up simming most of the playoffs. We ended up matching up with the Dallas Mavs in the finals. I was surprised they made it since when I was there last season I had to keep re simming playoff games to ensure that we won games. I simmed it to the point where we were up 3-2. I wanted to play the last game to actually feel like we won the finals. It was a great game. I put myself on Luka and Jaden McDaniels on Kyrie. It was a close game until I got simmed out the first quarter and found us down 13 in second quarter. They got up as much as 16 points in the second. But I was determined to not lose that game. Luka was cooking at first, but was getting blocks and steals on him and I didn't want that type of performance go to waste. We got it to a 5 point deficit at half and ended up make making a huge run in the third. We went on a 24-11 run and ended up 8 going into the fourth. When I got simmed back in the fourth, we were up 15 and was able to win. Luka had 26 points, but I made it work for that on 29 shots. I had 8 Stocks(steals and blocks). Luka only had 3 official turnovers, but felt like 5 of my stocks were on Luka

I targeted OG Anunoby, TJ McConnell, and Isaiah Jackson(center) in Free Agency. At first I was going to go for Jalen Suggs because he would've had versatility to be backup PG when Maxey was off floor. But I opted for OG because I wanted to solidify our perimeter defense we 3 guys with 90+ Perimeter D and good badges. That would allow us to be a lockdown defensive team. I could put Maxey on the weakest offensive option. We had Monte Morris as a backup last year. He was good on offense but was a traffic cone on defense. I'll still stick with Morris as a 6th man, but I'll have McConnell as another option. I wanted Jackson because I wanted a backup Center with high rebound and block. We didn't get him, but we did sign Steven Adams, so I'm good with that. I like our depth this season. Last season there were only 7 guys I trusted in rotation. Kyle Anderson was good last season for us, but he was injured most of the season and his shot is so slow. I rather have him off the bench. We also signed Bojan Bogdanovic. Only need I can say we have is a backup SG. I would prefer an athletic 3 & D SG. I might opt for going for Matisse Thybulle again or another young 3 & D SG. I want to save 2 trade target requests in case of injury. I will take my time this season and not rush through it. I wanted to get to a point where I'm pretty much done grinding for badges and have a team I feel is good enough

I was going to suggest going for Thybulle. He still has 89 Per D, 83 3pt, and great defensive badges. But, I opted for a generated 2k rookie. Usually I don't see 2k rookies with good defensive ratings. But there were two I was interested. One was fast with decent 3 & D ratings. But, there was one I was very interested in. He only has 80 potential and is 78 OVR, but he seems like a legit two-way prospect. He is 6'4 SG and has 87 3pt, 84 Mid, 88 Close, 811 Driving Dunk and Layup, decent ball handle and Pass IQ and ball handle and had 86 Per D and has decent bronze badges already. He isn't a starter, so he shouldn't be hard to aquire. If we can land him, I will instantly make him the 6th man. It took two requests, but it was worth it. That rookie seems legit. Only two games, but he will be a mainstay in the rotation. Mostly in sim stats minutes, he scored 13 and 29 points in the 2 games I played with him. CPU kept trying to force as a starter, but I rather keep OG as the starting SG and have the Rookie Norris as the 6th man. He's one of the rare 2k generated rookies who have a unique build. He's essentially a 3 Level 2 Way scorer who's has good enough to be a backup PG. From looking at roster he was tied 2nd in Rookie OVR at 78. He was the 7th pick. Only has 80 potential, but seems like he can progress to be high 80s. If this was last season's roster, I would definitely have him as the starting SG. But I like him better now as the 6th man scorer/backup PG.
