Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
This one's for Eras.
Since this mode was introduced, the fewest teams you could have active has been 12.
The first NBA season to have 12 teams was the 1967-68 season, when the Seattle Supersonics and San Diego Rockets joined the league.
Thus, an era starting from there. Call it the Early TV Era or something like that. Presentation and score bugs similar to what we saw in 2K12--I can't believe those only lasted the one year.
Speaking of classic NBA, a related point: An optional postseason rule change to eliminate the three-point line.
I realize this will be difficult, likely due to how court textures are programmed, so I'm not going to get up in arms if it's not there, but as they say, closed mouths don't get fed...and the fact is, an era has to be rule-appropriate, since the NBA didn't adopt the arc until the 1979-80 season (after the ABA had it for years), when they had no idea how it would completely break the sport.
But again, that arc was gone in era-appropriate games in 2K12. It can happen again.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
I’d like more RP type elements in MyCareer. Playing the W modes show you how lacking this aspect is. I’d like to be to have an influence on trading teammates, benching players during games, bring back players meeting with GMs and expand on that. Just more things to make the dynasty and career modes feel more immersive.
It’s odd playing mycareer and you’re supposed to be this iconic star but feel binded in what power you actually have. In an era where players have more influence on the league than ever.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
The more I play, the more I see how weird some of the transitions into the ProPlay animations can be and it causes some unrealistic clashes where offensive players just pass right through defenders. Doesn’t happen a whole lot but it would be nice to see them continue to build on this and clean it up as they go.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
Have mentioned this before but I'd like to see them introduce a better system for retired players. Right now they are just placed in the free agency pool until they retire in-game so that they can become coaches, but there are a couple of issues with this (from a realism point of view):
1) They don't always retire at the end of the season; and
2) The CPU often signs them to fill out roster spots (I've seen Rubio, Dragic and Terrence Ross signed by about 3-4 different teams in various roster updates).
Maybe a good way to do it would be to add "retired" as one of the injury types, and doing so would prevent the player from being signed anywhere and also prompt the player to retire in the next offseason?Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
As someone who does a lot of editing to my roster and controls everyone, I'd love to see some stuff to do with tendencies. Like idk why deep 3s isn't a tendency but it absolutely should be, guys like dame should regularly pull from we'll behind the arc, it'd make the gsmeplay so much more fun and realistic. Also stuff like have a tendency for crashing the glass maybe? Like pat bev or Josh giddey as PG's are routinely attacking the offensive glass, I know it's an attribute but I think having stuff like that would help tons with sim stats. One more I'd love is heat check tendency but that's probably not gonna happen hahaha

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
This may have been mentioned earlier (on this thread or previous NBA 2K edition wishlist threads), but I would like to see in Play Now mode the home team jersey that is selected then the court colors match the jerseys being worn. For example, if the Mavs are wearing the green retros, then the court should look like the old Reunion Arena. Not only should the court design be adjusted to match the jerseys being worn, but the score bug should also be adjusted. In that case with the Mavs retro green unis, then the 80's logo with the cowboy hat should be the logo used in the score bug.
Madden has the same problem. If the retros are being worn, then the end zone art should be adjusted accordingly along with the score bug. For example, the Eagles' Kelly Green unis.Comment

I can almost guarantee that they will have Caitlin Clark as a cover for the W... definitely see them putting some more time into how they handle that mode.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
I want Mycareer mode to take a step back from everything they are trying to do. The city sucks, i do not like running at 1 mph just to get somewhere i need to go. Nor do i want to drive a go cart or a robot around. Crazy how nba the life had better career mode.
I used to play every game in every 2k pre 2k19. When i first got 2k24 i played the first couple of games and then i somehow accidentally pressed play next key game and it skipped halfway through the season. For someone who loves playing every game, that really pissed me off.
Also, unless CAP gets a overhaul, i wont be buying the next 2k. Before this 2k, my last 2k was 19.

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
It just annoys me that there's no mechanism to make retired players actually retire. You can't stop the CPU from signing them unless you start a MyNBA with all teams having at least 14 players, so the CPU doesn't automatically sign players to fill out roster spots. And if you release them, you have to stay in control of the CPU teams or they just re-sign them again, even if you add an injury.
Plus they don't always actually retire in game, so you get to the next free agency period in the offseason and guys like Rubio and Ross get signed as they still have a decent OVR. Being able to manually retire players via the edit screen would be great for people like me that like immersion and realism. I already spend far too long correcting all the inaccuracies in 2k's roster updates, so this is just another bugbear relating to thatLast edited by sirdez; 04-17-2024, 11:01 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
More options to get the series back to how it used to be (2K14 and prior) in terms of "skill" balance would be great. I understand so many players embrace the idea of removing randomness, but in my opinion (and I think others, even if they may not realize it) randomness always has been a core part of why sports can be so enjoyable. Knowing that an elite player can shoot 2/10 is a feature, not a bug. There is just as much skill in knowing how to take smart shots and run plays, compared to someone dribbling around back and forth and timing things perfectly.
All the focus on greens has resulted in unrealistically low success rate on even lightly contested jumpers, low 3pt attempts overall, and a severe lack of help defense. I'll say again and again that it's hard to replicate real NBA defense when shots go in at far higher rates than real life. We have a smother hounding bulldog Ausar Thompson style defense for ALL defenders in 2K24 because of how (overly) potent the open shot is.
I'm not asking for the direction of the series to go in the opposite direction because it's obvious that will never happen. But continuing and expanding on giving users the ability to further change how the game operates is good. Make sure the sliders do what they should do. Add more sliders. Add more options. This series might sport "NBA" on the cover, but the last several years its become clear where the direction and style has been headed. You can tune into any real game going on and see watch defenders react, cave to the paint to protect drives, and simple drive and kick/blow-bys and notice 2K does not at all replicate basic motions and flows of real offenses -- at least not on a regular basis (and it's very possible, it just depends if players actually wanted that in their hyper competitive video game)

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
Bring back the ability to edit players' wingspan, body length, shoulder width and muscle definition. 2K's player models have been bad for years now, and many players still have big heads - need to be able to edit that as well. If developers have no wish to do it, then allow gamers to do it.
