The best thing is I can already tell some of these rookies are going to need a rating boost [emoji23].

I wonder if Rashid would take a crack at it.

Not sure if it was mentioned in this thread already but last year 2k23 did have rookies. It just took 2k until mid June to finally add them to the rosters, but if you look back Boston and the all other rookies were added to the game. I expect 2k to do the same this year.
I think the reason for this is to get a good gauge of what their ratings should be. The WNBA has almost no preseason so alot of these rookies don't get any real action until the season begins.

Yeah, someone said that before. But that's too late. For example, this week while we wait for the NBA finals. They should is pushed out a simply roster with CAPS and call it a day until they scan the current ladies. Even if they had a preseason. It would probably be during the height of the NBA playoffs.

Strike now. The Iron is Hot. Today we had Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark.

Anytime after the start of the season is too late. The league will never again see this much hype going into a season, and 2K can't even be bothered to get the player bringing all that hype into the game in time for her debut. It's shameful really.

I could probably do the whole league from scratch in about two weeks.
            It's about 12 teams w/ 8 rotation players each.

But I don't follow the league in my free time, so at that point 2K would need to hire me.

At a glance, the league has a bit in common w/ 1960s NBA.

It's a small league and the top players are head and shoulders above everyone else. You have a HOF / Wilt tier (A'Ja Wilson, 34 PER!) boosted up because the bottom half of the league are effectively plumbers. That's something that will likely change w/ the coming generation.

Caitlyn Clark's production (6th in AST%, 6th in USG%, 10th in FT%, but only 38 FG% / 31 3PT%) is comparable to rookie Trae Young. Or like, D'Angelo Russell on the Brooklyn Nets. She's far from her peak but certainly isn't an on-court Superstar yet.

She'll probably still deserve to make the All-Star team, just by virtue of how small the league is.
In the 50s/60s NBA something like 20% of the league were All-Stars (24 spots in a 100ish person league?) whereas today it's 4%.

              It's pure insanity!!!

Just for context. I took a quick look at the NBA 2k Twitter account. The last time they posted about the WNBA was opening day.

              After that nothing.....

Tonight is the commissioner cup. This would be a great night. All we need is caps. Official caps.... This is terrible.

I've been enjoying the rosters created here. Thanks for all your work.

                .
This is where spamming the social media manager (Ronnie2K) could have some benefit.
AFAIK he's the one who runs the main account (or an intern under him).

A big problem is that the WNBA was thrust upon this company and nobody internally had any player knowledge / experience / relationships. But that is obviously no excuse 3-4 years later.

As I've mentioned previously, I did briefly train the WNBA Ratings Editor, who was a new hire* (independent contractor). I doubt 2K promoted them in an official capacity ala Stauffer (though I actually haven't checked the credits since the year I got left out lol). So that is probably a factor. If it seems like nobody is behind the wheel, it's because there probably isn't.

Hopefully 2K can add the rookies.

I dont think this is the right forum to discuss a matter of this, maybe the other forums. This is how certain topics get pushed in different areas that I dont think folks want to veer into ..at least ON HERE.

All we can hope for is that 2k puts alot of attention to WNBA now for 2k25.

You bring up a lot of good points but as has been said, may not want to go too much into this stuff. I think we should just all be happy to see some attention to the WNBA because of this woman and leave it at that.

Let's hope it translates to other women sports, add someone very interesting, or good, or both, and it's amazing how it can affect a league.

I would like to see a dual cover for 2K25 with an NBA player and a WNBA player, and Clark the obvious choice for the WNBA player. Not sure who would be the NBA player yet, but Clark on the cover could create more buzz for the game.

Why not Michael Jordan, make it a throwback greatest and the future possibly greatest?

Obviously not as good as PPPs cyber face but gave a go at a cap for her. Pretty hard to get her and a lot of the other women right with how the creator is.
