Also, beware that most of these "cdkeys" websites are in grey area and are likely using stolen keys, keys from regions with lower economic power, or using stolen credit cards to buy these game keys.

Green man gaming is not one of them.

No, cdkeys is a legit site. I've used it for many, many years, as long as I can remember. This is actually the first time I've ever had any issue with them and it's probably more due to 2K than cdkeys is my guess

I ordered pc edition on cdkeys and it said releases the 6th. However, I just checked my orders this morning and the code is there. I didn't get any email about it so posting for visibility in case anyone else pre-ordered there.

I figured it would be after a bit, they got caught unaware I think due to how 2K made this pre-order gets early change up.

I know they maybe didn't do it last minute but it was confusing to me as it's completely different than normally where just the top editions get it early

Cdkeys is definitely a grey market. They may and do provide keys to the customers but the ways that they get these keys is suspicious to say the least. They are in the same vain as kinguin, g2a etc.

Fanatical is also an authorized seller, but yeah CDkeys does fall under grey market.

and whats the problem with that? we are living in a globalized world. i can order stuff from countries from all over the world, why should that be a problem with games keys?

CDKey is legit as a site, but it is very much a "gray site" as it is not authorized to sell Steam keys by Valve. That means keys aren't guaranteed to work for any number of reasons. However, I've never had this happen to me and only seen it happen once with a friend.

The reason they haven't sent keys yet is because they don't have them as they obtain them from other third parties.

Guys don't use websites like cdkeys. They are not authorized sellers and more than likely using stolen credit cards to obtain the keys. Best case scenario is they are buying them in a region where the currency is a lot weaker than USD and then reselling them for a profit.

I just looked and it's $58 at cdkeys. Green Man Gaming is an authorized retailer and you can get it for ~$59-60 so there's really no reason not to spend the extra $2.

Because you are screwing over people in impoverished countries. If enough people from USA/western EU buys from for example Argentina or Turkey (usually at 30% of the price) then Steam/2K will remove regional pricing and gamers in those countries where average monthly salary is about 400 USD will have to pay full 70 USD next year...as has happened with some of the games/stores. It's about not being as selfish as one can be in today's world. Most western EU countries have 5x that take home salaries.

Recommend using https://isthereanydeal.com/ for all your PC games as they only have authorized key sellers in their listings. Site also tells you coupon codes to use.
