Interesting a mode called MyGM doesn't allow you to sit back as a GM and watch your team play CPU vs CPU.

Is there an option to just play games and not worry about any off court stuff? I haven’t played my nba for a few years.

I am starting my annual ERAs project which allows anybody to start in, for example, 2010 with entirely accurate rosters with totally accurate contracts, coaches, and staff. FAs are filled with 150+ real players ranging from actual FAs to players who had great college careers but went to Europe. Plus I provide 10 draft classes with ALL 60 picks as well as dozens of undrafted FAs.


10 years of uber realistic basketball where youll never come across a fake player... its the most fun you can have doing a MyLeague or MyEra.

1989 ALL STAR VOTING – MJ LEADS THE WAY
FEBRUARY 1989

MJ is leading the East vote getter with over2.1 million votes to go with his 35 ppg.



With the addition of Charlotte, a few of them are also buzzing around under Jordan in the east. Fred Payne (20.4), Corey Warren (21.2) and Fausto Rossi (24 ppg) are the trio see as they have been showing up for the Hive. Out West, its Karl Malone with over 2.3 million votes, with John Stockton getting ovr 1.7 million votes.

Julius Erving has been asked since 1987 when will expect him to put away his converse, and he always said “Check in with me next year, I will see how I feel”. Well, it seems like the Converses are getting unlaced.




“Yeaaah, this may be my last year so enjoy it” stated Dr. J as he was getting ready to leave the locker room. “Sometimes you have to know when its time to call it and its time. I’ve enjoyed my time playing the game and will enjoy my last games”.

Alex English, playing for the Nuggets, stated the same sentiments. ‘Julius is right, sometimes you just gotta know when to fold them so ‘l have to think about when that time is for me”

ANOTHER JUMP TO THE NBA?

Chris Dunn of St Vincent, St Mary (OH) is one of the top HS prospects out, but wants to go pro. “There are rumors that he is looking alternatively in places in Europe if the NBA is not to hot on him. He understands that the NBA may be a long shot, based on previous draft choices.” Stated ESPN.

Dunn has been looking at colleges like UCF, Kansas and Washington. Out west, Elden Kelley from Sierra Canyon High School (CA) has decided to forfeit his collegiate experience and says he will sign for a FIBA team.

1989 NBA Draft PREVIEW: Europe is coming!

Ivan Petrovic said that a great feeling overcame him when he decided that he wa headed east to the United States. “The NBA is growing, that’s the place you want to be. The best of the best go there to compete” he stated



The former UConn Huskies product is ready to jump back in America after taking some time to play in Europe after college. “I wasn’t prepared to deal with everything at that age. 21 years old, you kind of got a lot going on in your head. Europe kind of heals you”



Vlade Divac is one of the most sought out after “rookies” in this years draft. A member of the Yugoslavian team, he has been a player that many NBA GMs are excited to see in the league. “Divac will be a game changer. He may be the big of the century” stated an unnamed NBA GM. Narek Khachatrian, a member of the French National Team, is also seen to be a lottery pick with his performance in the Olympics. “That’s a grown man right there, he can play with the best of them”

The top three teams in the draft are: Nets, Bullets and Supersonics

PLEASE reach out to me! Ive been making rosters for 2k games since the original games came out. I do the same for MLB too.. last 2 years for 2k Ive made scenarios where you can start in, for example, 2010 Season.And you can play 10 seasons where Ive provided full 60+ man man draft classes for every year, fora decade, the rosters are 100% accurate ratings and salary-wise. I even ad ALL coaches and staff... I even add literally hundreds of real FAs consisting of the real life FAs for the specific year and I also add TONS of well known guys who had great college careers but ended up in Europe.

So when you start your era you have the ultimate real experience and can play 10+ years and never see a fake player I have done al the research and have begun this years project. Please reach out and I can show that Im legit as well as go into more details. . I swear its the most fun youll ever have playing a 2k MyEra. no joke

MIAMI FEEL THE HEAT, HORNETS GIVE SOME BUZZ

Orlando and Minnesota are still getting their NBA legs together, while Miami and Charlotte are learning to swim.



Muggsy Bogues is having another stellar year, gaining a lot of traction from the league about being a top All Star vote getter. “A lot of people having been telling me good things about how my play has been received. They said I would be a vote getter to the weekend” he stated after practice in Charlotte.

Another head turner is how Scott Skiles has been able to put stuff together for the Orlando Magic. “I started out in Minnesota and the Orlando Magic were looking fast of what to do in order to get me after the first game. I like the fit better here”

LEAGUE LEADERS: MJ ONCE AGAIN!

Michael Jordan may end up leading the NBA in points scored because he has continued to be the league leader in PPG.



Kelly Tripucka was next on the list, as he went from the Detroit Pistons to the upstart Charlotte Hornets. “Kelly is another reason why a lot of players that were good performers for their teams wanted to be unprotected. He is showing more of himself to get the All Star nod” stated Dan Patrick of ESPN.

Karl Malone and John Stockton look to go deep in the playoffs this year as both of them are in the MVP discussions. “John Stockton cannot miss from beyond the Arc and Karl Malone continues to put up over 30 every game”. The Jazz are looking like a great team this year, along with the Lakers and Blazers. Recent additions like Russ Hunt are putting in work for the team with season highs of 42 points against the Kings



Len Bias has had a BREAKOUT year, leading him to be a lock for the NBA All Star Game.

MJ and Karl Malone put on a show for the ages



Len Bias, Harris Fuller, Freddie Gilbert & Antonio Early were going back ands forth on the slam dunks, while prospective draftee Frantisek Horn attended the festivities. “The NBA is a great league, hopefully I can figure a way to join this league one day. Right now its all about FIBA though!”. Frantisek Horn currently plays in France and represents Canada in the international stage. “I would love to go back home to Toronto and see an NBA team over there. I heard Winnipeg was in the works or Calgary, but basketball in Canada would be amazing”


Ronny Bates held it down for the Sophomores vs Rookie game, with 31 points and nine assists off of easy dunks as the rooks tried to press. “They didn’t learn, they would get a few steals but most time I would be free to practice dunks I haven’t done in game on the other end. Vinny Del Negro lead with 11 assists to get them over the hump as well.

NBA DRAFT PREVIEW: GARY PAYTON & PATRICK HOSKINS SPOTLIGHT
APRIL 1990

The Bullets, Nets and Clippers are the three worst teams in the league and one of them is most likely to get the #1 pick. The Sporting News has tailed Gary Payton as the player to look forward to.




“Forget this one," Payton woofed at Washington's players in the midst of the Huskies' 66-57 upset of Oregon State on Feb. 15. "Y'all still draggin' last in the conference!" (They were actually ninth.) In that game, Payton had twice as many turnovers (six) as baskets (three) in what was easily his worst performance since somebody other than the folks of Williamette (Ore.) Valley figured he should be a Player of the Year candidate, right up there with all those Rumeal Robinson and Larry Johnson types. “He is one of those players you have to look at as being one of the greats very soon” stated Sports Illustrated Curry Kirkpatrick


INTERNATIONAL SPOTLIGHT:
Patrick Hoskins is a Power Forward that plays in Spain, the Liga ACB. “Hands down, the best rebounder in the draft” stated Kirkpatrick. Hoskins played at McNeese St, which gave him two to three seconds of eyes from scouts when it came to the 1988 NBA Draft. “ I wasn’t ready for the league at the time. I needed some more faster temp against grown men”. He is currently #36 at the Power Forward position, rising steadily.



He entered his name into the newly formed NBA Futures Draft, a list of players that make themselves draft eligible. This new Draft was created so that international players can go through the draft process instead of signing with a team as a free agent. “It’s aout leverage, more teams are building through the draft and would rather pay a smaller scale contract than a higher one. FIBA pays almost3x as much as the NBA does currently, so it doesn’t hurt us to take that cut.

Michael Jordan and Karl Malone are rivals, only one can win MVP and it goes to Karl Malone



Karl Malone averaged 30.1 ppg and 8 rebounds per game, well deserved. “Hes an amazing player. The Jazz have a goldmine of a team with him and John Stockton leading the way. Michael Jordan didn’t leave empty handed, winning the Defensive Player of the Year award, with 35.5 Ppg, 2.5 steals and 7.5 assists a game. “He cant win them every year! He is still dominant in every way” NBCs Hannah Storm stated



Len Bias has been on a TEAR ever since he was drafted in 1986 with KC Jones (above). After having a near fatal overdose, the Celtics have helped him recover and made a deal with im when it came to the number he wanted, #30. “Become the leader on and off the floor for us and we will gladly allow you to take the number you want. People have to feel proud to wear your uniform” stated Larry Bird.

He may soon be close to getting his number as he has won the Sixth Man of the Year with an average of 19 points a game and a little over 7 assists. “ We could be seeing a number change very soon” stated Storm.

When Keljin Cunningham joined the Orlando Magic, he believed he would be able to show off the reason why he was drafted so high coming from Europe. “Sacramento was a good learning lesson as I wasn’t familiar on how everyone in this league was skilled. I mean everyone brings it, so I just had to learn how to see the game for what it is” Cunningham stated. He recently became the 1990 Most Improved Player, with averages of 16.1 ppg and 8.6 asissts. “I feel great, this allowed nme to kind of start over. Ready to see what else is in store”

1990 FIBA WORLD CUP: US V CANADA
JULY 1990

In January, the NBA announced that FIBA is now allowing their domestic players to represent the US. David Stern sent a memo to teams seeing about the temperature in locker rooms. “Its great that they are allowing us to play, but the problem is that some of us don’t have a need to play in the summer stated Scottie Pippen of the Bulls. “Maybe for those that haven’t or didn’t get a chance in the previous years, they deserve to be top of the table” stated Michael Jordan at the time.



With many NBA stars opting out, US Basketball turned back into the amateur pool next. They drafted in Marcus Elliot (UNC), J.D Rose (Wake Forest) and Rick Fleming (Ole Miss). Many have stated that prospective NBA draft picks are using the FIBA world cup to help their case for the NBA Draft status. “It doesn’t hurt showcasing my style on an international stage against the world.

Might even make me go #1” stated Elliot who is slated to go pro in 1991 at least. Rick Fleming was one of the top recruits and has been okay for Ole Miss, but he is on the move. “I’m in the process of transferring to a different school, but this is a great opportunity”



During the recruitment process, some of the Detroit Pistons stated that they would be willing to don the USA colors in the fall. “If we repeat, then I will lend my time over the summer” promised Joe Dumars. Once the Pistons won, he announced in the celebration that he will be committing to the US Basketball team. Once that happened, then commitments from Brad Daugherty and Terry Cummings followed. “This will be a mixture for sure of the now and the next” stated the USA Team GM.

The latest commits is Shelden Cartwright of the Phoenix Suns and Dee Sims of the Miami Heat. “Excited isn’t the word. Going to be an exciting summer”.

First game is against Canada in August.
