What happened to the "Hold Triangle to make a guy cut and pass" button?

I swear, in previous versions, you could hold it for a couple seconds before it would force the pass. 2K25, it only seems to work for a half second before it forces what's usually a bad pass. Am I missing a setting somewhere in the options, or is this a deliberate change? Or am I misremembering?

They changed the default setting for it, but you can switch it back to "cut to basket" in the Controller Settings section. Similar for holding circle no longer being a handoff/pitch pass by default.

its much worse now than in recent years though. you. cannot cancel the Pass into a Pass fake like before instead the Pass will always be made. i loved to let my teammate cut and then fake into a shot with the passer...

Yeah, I got it changed to "cut to basket" but it's no longer a button you can hold down and, like the guy after you said, something you have time to cancel out of if the pass looks risky.



It sucks they changed it.

They changed it for a good reason. Online it has been getting abused badly. It still kind of is. But players are using the menu instead now. So it didn't stop the ability to do it (just curved it). But it just slows them down. The right thing 2K should of done is heighten the pass perception for the CPU defenders. But that would probably cause a problem with casual players.

Changed something that worked well offline because online was abusing it. Same as it ever was.

Yup. There has to be a better way than to punish paying customers that don't play online.

The only way to fix online gaming is to ban humans from playing.
