Yup. It's not even just them not knowing basketball. It's the automatic tendency to always be selfish or freeze out GOOD players, or having the decision making skills of a 1st grader lmao. I think half the time these people are on meth or something.

It’s not just 2k, it’s every sports game. When you play online in a random setting, there’s always people that play on rookie mode offline and think they can do that while playing online with other teammates. That’s why I try to friend people who actually play well so we can pair up later and run against randoms without worrying about someone being a bad teammate.

what about the randoms who play defense and don't get to touch the ball? The ones who end up passing to a wide open a.i. and a team mate effs up the basket/points/assist? The ones bored of playing MyCareer wanting to rep up and get some of those cool season prizes(even the ones that should be included in the base game cause you cant even buy them at the nba gear store)? waiting in a lobby for the game to load just to hoop with the ball hogs 80/3/12 club. no assist, no blocks, all the points, but hey "i was ballin' tho". I had player of the half. LMAO!!!

Two is the emotional nature of it. They come in wanting to play one way. They wanna do what they do well and they don't know how to adjust. Perfect example, I am a big and they wanna drive. They don't want to compromise. They could shoot and then drive, but they only wanna drive and pass up open shots and then it's my fault because I am a big. I am pretty good at opening lanes for people, but they want people 5 out. I always tell them when they are like UR MAN IS THERE AGAIN AFTER I BEAT MINE. It's like U could... pass to me.


If you stay long enough, you can overcome it, but people don't wanna overcome adversity, either.


Then they do wild stuff like...

But I have more than half a brain and more than 2 brain cells, which puts me in the top 5% of 2K randoms.

So what that means is I'm able to detect if a player is good or not. These other randoms obviously...can't...or they wouldn't Freeze Out the Only player with a brain.

And btw these are grown men who can't for the life of them figure out that it's not a good strategy to try to dunk over 3 people - for the 5th time in a row. "Derrr and I'll do it agaaain"

Most of the idiots I’ve run into online are little kids. It is hilarious when they start talking crap and some grown dude tells them to shut up. I’m muted on my mic and cracking up at the conversation.

This is why I try to play rec with a few friends though. We used to play pro-am but can get a full squad anymore so we just try to get 3 or 4 of us with one playing PG so we can control the game and make smart basketball plays. I don’t even try to score anymore as a big, I’m just there for rebounding, defense, and kicking out to open shooters. More fun to play that way.

Yeah it sucks.

Generally speaking every single team has at least one (and sometimes five) players who are clueless about basketball and need to be coached.

I'll never criticise a guy for missing or even being bad, as long as he's taking good shots, playing the team game and attempting to play defence.

Meanwhile there is often who doesn't do any of that. Takes horrendous shots, neglects his teammates, doesn't bother on defence and still feels he has the right to get on the mic and be outright abusive.

I don't have any friends who play this game. I don't live in a basketball friendly country. So I end up playing with randoms and the enjoyment of at least having 2 guys on the team who know how to play vs 4 selfish low IQ players is startling. Unfortunately 70% of the time it's the latter.

Would say more like 90% lol.

I just had a game where I was a fat center and I purposely camped the paint on D and picked up cutters. They couldn't for the life of them figure out "Hey maybe I should switch when this happens." This is 2+2=4 sht, especially after TEN TIMES OF IT HAPPENING. Their center had like 7 threes and I kept camping just to make a point. I even switched matchups manually and they still didn't rotate. These people are literally braindead 'and I'll do it again deerrrr" meme NPC's who are unable to grasp basic logic.
